Midlothian Assistant Police Chief Kevin Johnson, meanwhile, says that while there's "nothing new" to report at the moment, the case is far from being stalled.

"Our guys aren't getting murders by the week," he tells PEOPLE, describing the quiet suburb of Dallas. "If we need to spend the time on it for months to come, we have the people to work on it for months to come."

We simply cannot forget Missy &#8230; or her daughters or her family or her friends. We just can&#8217;t. As for me, rarely does a day go by when, like many of you, I don&#8217;t stop to think about Missy, about that terrible day and about who did it. As for harping, if there&#8217;s any of that going on, it&#8217;s the constant amount I give our newsroom on whether any new news has come forth. It drives me crazy that things remain quiet, but then again no good police force is going to make much noise unless, in fact, it has something substantive to share. Maybe it&#8217;s the quiet before the storm &#8230; as they say.

For the first time Monday, Midlothian police also confirmed there is never-before-seen video from the church, but Johnson says those angles are not as clear and likely would not produce additional information to help identify their suspect or even their gender.
