If he was meeting up with someone wouldn't they have found something in his phone records? Surely they have those by now.

So on the Finding Thomas Brown Facebook page - they said someone called the Tip Line and were close to the Canadian High Football Team. They are pleading with whoever made the call to call back.

I am praying tonight they call back.

Sunny Texas - if you are near to Canadian, then you are in my area! *waving*

Yes, so it to me doesn't make sense. He was a starter for the football team, and then he just quits? And FWIR, according t what I read, it was a difficult decision for him to make. Quite unusual, if one's a football player they are or they're not. Especially if they're a starter. Especially since he's one of the best, right? So, why would someone in his position just quit? What was going on? IDK, I sense something not right. JMO

"Up until this past year he was a starter for the state championship Canadian High School Football team. His teammates describe him as a dedicated football player that made the hard decision to take a different direction this past fall and leave the game of football.
Tom is the president of the schools student council and is a superior student according to his teachers interviewed by investigators." (BBM)

Exactly: Why would a starter for a state championship football team -in Texas, no less-, whose teammates describe as a dedicated player, quit before his senior year? He is the student council president, as well as a "superior" student, so it cannot be for academic reasons. Did Tom share with anyone why, or is it known but not being disclosed for a reason, whether investigative, to protect someone (or the person's privacy), or yet something else?

If it weren't for this bit, I would consider robbery a possibility as "his cell phone without the chargers from the car, his home, and his book bag, his keys, his wallet and his school laptop" were found to be missing from his SUV (by the way, does anyone have a guess as to how the "his home" got in there in the above sentence)?

But then someone could have harmed Tom and then removed those properties to make it look as though he ran away -not realizing that not all, but in many cases, those who run away or commit suicide leave these types of items behind-, which is actually the direction I'm leaning toward right now.

Is it possible that Tom left the football team because he had been bullied or harassed by his teammates, coaches or even both? Have all of the coaches been thoroughly investigated to see if there had been any abuse (whether physical or sexual) been going on on their part or the players'? Is it possible that Tom had been harassed and/or abused by one of the coaches, decided to go to the police (the right thing to do), the perpetrator directly or indirectly (e.g., via someone Tom confided in) found out, and harmed Tom, so that no one would find out?

Well it looks like we are closer to finding Tom. On the Help Find Tom Brown Facebook page they just posted the following:

To The Students Of Canadian High School : If you were down at lake Marvin the night of Tom's disappearance and you know something - we want to talk to you. We will not use your name.

For those not local: Lake Marvin is about 10-11 miles from Canadian.

For locals familiar with the locations, where is Lake Marvin in relation to where Tom's car was found? Thanks!

I dont know how to add a photo here, but here is the directions from MapQuest. I am guessing that the baseball field where his truck was last seen at (per the Find Tom Brown Website) is actually located at 1300 N 6th St. Again, this is the only actual address I can find for a baseball field.

Something I hadn't noticed before - but apparently someone was driving his truck at 650 am, as it is seen on camera driving to the baseball field. His truck was found over a hill and parked in a remote area. So if everyone was looking for him starting around 130 am how was someone able to drive through town unnoticed?

At approximately 6:50 a.m. a red Dodge SUV was captured on video coming into the area of the baseball fields on the sewer plant road. Camera's capture the red Dodge SUV driving up a small hill and parking in a remote area on the downside of the hill.

I also wonder if something like this was going on.

I remember reading about the CCTV capture of his vehicle at 6:50 am, but had missed that they were already searching for him at 1:30 am. Hmmm...

I don't remember reading anything about Lake Marvin being searched, does anyone know? TIA

They have not said publicly that its been searched, but I am also far enough away (about an hour) that I dont hear all the local gossip either.

They have found Thomas's backpack.

From the link:

The renewed effort comes after authorities located Brown's backpack with a school-issued computer inside of it. Brown's mother, Penny Meek, said the backpack was found nearly 4 miles from the spot search dogs lost trace of him during their initial searches.

The computer has since been sent to a Department of Public Safety lab in Lubbock, according to Meek. Meek said the Hemphill County's Sheriffs Office also found a set of footprints near the backpack.

The backpack was found about three or four miles east of where tracking dogs with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice had lost Brown's scent. A passer-by had seen the backpack in the woods and contacted authorities.

Officials said they still believe Brown left on his own accord. HCSO said they believe the backpack had been there for a while based on the compression it left on the ground, as well as the fact that there was water inside it.

Just one day after a candlelight vigil was held for missing Canadian teen Thomas Brown, the Hemphill County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Thursday they found his backpack over the weekend near Lake Marvin.

“We found it this weekend in our county about three miles from where we found his vehicle,” Lewis said. “It was in some brush and under trees. Hopefully it gives us a break to find things and hopefully gives us a new direction."

I wonder what kind of setting it was found, woods maybe? Will they now search this area with dogs?

I hope that the laptop will provide a clue. LE appears to be somewhat conflicted as to what might have happened:
"On Jan. 4, the Hemphill County Sheriff's Office told NewsChannel 10 that Brown leaving on his own was a possibility, but have since said that is less likely since none of his electronics or credit cards have been used." (BBM) http://www.newschannel10.com/story/34413460/backpack-of-missing-canadian-teen-found

"At the time (when Tom's truck was discovered) officials believed Brown walked away from his car on his own, but the new evidence regarding the backpack leaves open other possibilities. During the initial search for Brown, officials said they discovered no evidence of foul play." (BBM) http://amarillo.com/local-news/2017...tment-discovers-backpack-missing-teen-thomas#

(BBM) http://abc7amarillo.com/news/local/search-continues-after-backpack-of-missing-canadian-teen-found

For reference, here are a couple of articles from January, when LE announced Tom likely left willingly:
"Authorities found no signs of foul play or of assault, but fear that Brown could be in danger now, saying 'there's just no telling what happened once he left Canadian.'" http://www.newschannel10.com/story/...s-office-believes-missing-teen-left-willingly

"According to the Canadian Record, the Hemphill Sheriff's Office determined the evidence in the Canadian missing teen case proved it was a voluntary runaway. The Canadian Record tells ABC 7 the Sheriff's Office said this is based on forensic evidence, evidence from Thomas Brown's home and bedroom and interviews with friends and family members." http://abc7amarillo.com/news/local/canadian-missing-teen-now-classified-as-runaway

I wonder what they found in Tom's "home and bedroom" that led them to believe he left on his own accord. I also wonder what they mean by "forensic evidence" ... perhaps cell phone records indicating that Tom had been in contact with someone unbeknownst to family and friends, with whom he planned to run away?

And I am still wondering why he stopped playing football going into his senior year, and what they mean when they say he "made the hard decision to take a different direction this past fall and leave the game of football." (BBM) http://www.findtombrown.com/case-history.html

I am really conflicted about whether he left on his own or not.

He hasnt used any of his money or credit cards. If he left on his own, how is he making it? If he left on his own, how is he getting to places? Walking? Someone would see him.

He has to be having help.
