It IS shocking, isn't it? I simply do not now, or ever will, understand how anyone could do this. Some of those soldiers just got back from Afganistan. GB them all!

Reporting that it is believed this may have started out as a "soldier on soldier" confrontation? Curious who the target was. I'm trying to find more information on the shooter, Ivan Lopez. He's barely been mentioned on CNN since I've been watching.

So you have an argument between 2 soldiers and 4 end up dead with 14 injured?
That makes absolutely no sense. :twocents:

3 dead plus the shooter. I am praying that death toll doesn't rise. Some extremely critical.

That is exactly what is so tragic...that it happened AGAIN at the same base.

Ft. Hood is huge. Deployed a lot of soldiers to Afghanistan. Mission: Kill. I imagine a lot of them came back to the USA with PTSD.

Agree, that is very possible. Just doesn't appear to be a conflict between the shooter and only one other. Wish we knew the details of how this went down. Perhaps the news conference will yield some information.

"Soldier on soldier" doesn't necessarily mean one-to-one. Or, they could be saying it started off as a physical scuffle between just two and escalated when one snapped. It's like saying "black-on-black" or "white-on-white" crime. It sounds singular but isn't necessarily.

Although, if non-soldiers were killed, then it definitely isn't soldier-on-soldier, but the original incident might have been. If police and others intervened and the shooter turned on them, it wouldn't really fit any labels.

I can't find a FB page for him. The shooter.

Please keep politics out of the discussion... thanks!
