Yep, I agree too - this isn't the last we'll hear of him. And now he's gonna have a ton of money. I wonder how soon after he's released he skips town? Hopefully when he exits jail, they'll hand him a one-way ticket somewhere far away.

He can't skip cuz he's still on probation.

Durst definitely scares me to!!!

The company owned by the Durst family is called The Durst Organization (I don't believe they have anything to do with the DuPont Company, but I could be wrong--it sure wouldn't be the first time! lol) Here is a little info. on The Durst Organization. I remember looking at info. on this company a long time ago when Durst was first arrested. It is a privately held billion-dollar New York company.

Durst Organization (Buildings and facilities) articles

------------------
The last I heard Robert Durst is still married to his second wife, Debrah Charatan, a New York real estate broker who was Durst's long time girlfriend. They married in 2000, just before he fled New York. Does anyone know if she divorced him?

From Part II of a 48 Hr. Show{--"Robert Durst is pursuing legal action of his own in a fight over the family fortune. It’s a lawsuit against one of his brothers and a cousin. He says they’re trying to stop him from naming his second wife as heir to his share of the family trust fund -- reportedly worth millions of dollars a year."

I don't know if the following has been posted on another thread or not, but I will post it here in case someone missed it and would like to read it.

I was looking for info on that earlier and couldn't find anything. I don't think she has though.

Maybe she has been waiting until he got his share of the money before she divorces him!! I have always wondered what she is like, I have never seen very much info. written about her. Well, she better file for divorce real fast before he does something else and needs the money to post for bail. lol

For those of you who know me from my book A BEAUTIFUL CHILD here's some news on Robert Durst, the NY real estate heir who is believed to have killed his wife in 1982 and dismembered a man (and got away with it) in Texas.
My book on the Durst case, A DEADLY SECRET, was just released on Amazon's Kindle. It includes a new chapter with an update on the case..and it's chilling. Since his 2003 acquittal (and release from prison in 2006 for minor offenses) Durst has been terrorizing his family and the Texas judge who presided over his murder case. He's also the sole suspect in the 2000 murder of Susan Berman. Police were going to charge him but compromised their own investigation. For more follow the link to the Amazon site

Thanks for the update, Matt....I was surprised to read that he was out of jail. I had been under the impression that he was still locked up....and to know that he's been continuing to raise havock doesn't shock me....I can't believe he hasn't murdered anyone else yet....isn't that a sad thought but with him it's just a matter of time I'm afraid...

Hello Matt!

Thanks from me too for the Update. Coincidentally, Durst has been on my mind in the past few days...or rather his case...I could not recall his name. I am shocked to learn that he is free this day!

Also, I appreciate your making available the Kindle editions of your books, as well as the Look Inside! feature at amazon.

I'm surprised too. The new chapter includes info on Durst returning to the Pine Barrens in NJ, the same place police believe he disposed of the remains of his first wife Kathie. THe authorities know about it, so we'll stay tuned.

Thanks for the update Matt. I remember all about this guy. A long expose' on him was done by one of the news magazines. I knew he was out of jail but wasn't sure what he was up to.

I'd love to read the book. Very sad a smart man would take his life in this direction, wrecking havoc everywhere, and murdering people. My thoughts are with his victims. Maybe they can find a way to lock him up..

Today on Showtime at 4:30 CST, the movie about Robert Durst is showing:

All Good Things...with Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst.

This report disputes that there was any sort of argument with CVS staff before Durst urinated. According to the police spokesperson quoted in the article, Durst paid for his rx, peed, and left.
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/cri...posing-urinating-drug-store-article-1.1875763

It sounds like profound mental illness, but if he's competent enough to do multi-million dollar real estate transactions then he's competent enough not to pee in a drugstore. IMO.

Not exactly what you'd expect when you drop into your local CVS:

'A New York City real estate heir acquitted of his neighbor's murder a decade ago is back in trouble, this time for a bizarre outburst in which police say he urinated on a rack of candy at a Texas drug store.

Police say multimillionaire Robert Durst unzipped his pants in a Houston CVS, exposed himself and then urinated on a cash register and candy before walking away from the store just after noon Sunday, Houston NBC affiliate KPRC reported.'

I left the c out of acquitted in the thread title. :(

This goes to show that some criminals can't be rehabilitated.... or toilet trained. :naughty:

If he hadn't been acquitted of murder in 2003, the candy would be safe.

But, seriously, why would he dismember his neighbor's body and dispose of the parts in Galveston Bay if he killed his neighbor in self-defense as he claimed?

There's more to this: In 1982 Durst's wife, Kathleen McCormack, vanished. Has he gotten away with some terrible crimes only because he's wealthy and can afford the best lawyers? Let's hope the judge in this latest case has a sweet tooth. :gavel:
