Not a hoax, although that would be disturbing in itself. LE (Sheriff?) has already commented that they are investigating this too.
LE better be investigating this brutal case of animal abuse!

:furious:

So now the story is on CNN, Fox, the Huffington Post etc...

Stick a fork in that b----- she is DONE!

She likely won't serve much jail time but if she lives in a small town she had best move.

There may be witnesses to Ms. Lindsey's killing sweet cat, Tiger, according to SM posts. It shouldn't be so difficult for LE if there were witnesses, and assume someone had to take the horrific picture. Jmo/

Again you take me out of context sonya..

First the behaviour post, now this...

I worked predominately for no kill/ no euth veterinarians in relation the feral cat population. In Australia, there are vets that do not like to euthanise just purely because the animal is feral.

There are rescue places, welfare places that take on these cases and try other options before euthanasia.

I'm not sure how you managed to twist that into I only work for vets that don't deal with euthanasia of any animal. As a veterinary nurse, I'm well aware of sickness, pain of animals.. I deal with terminal illness in pets more than I'd like to in fact. To let them suffer would be Huge welfare issues/cases and lots of vets losing their licence to practice, not only that it would sit poorly with my own morals.

Please stop twisting my words

I operate and work with people that follow the RSPCA five freedoms to the letter.

Oh, for cripe sake. That basically says they don't want to prosecute her. They should be getting a search warrant for her bloody arrows and the body of the cat and contacting witnesses. Authenticating the photo is not the only evidence of a crime. I think one animal group has offered a $7,500 reward for any info though.

The sheriff said his office had reached out to her.

"She didn't want to talk to us at this time," he said. "She said she was going to come in with her attorney. Hopefully early next week, we get something cracking. Hopefully this girl comes in. She may. She may not.

Say, what?

She should have her license lifted. If you want to launch a complaint to the Veterinary Licensing body of Texas, click the link and follow the instructions. This is in addition to and independent from to the police inquiry. The licensing body usually holds a veterinarian to a higher standard of professional behaviour than the police.

Somebody else had to have taken the photo, so obviously there was at least one other person there.

Her mother "B" proudly proclaimed that she and Kristen's father "J" were watching and saw it happen, then mom proudly took the pic.

From watching the videos, I got the impression that Brenham is a very small town, sort of like a Mayberry. The Sheriff even wears a 10-gallon hat. I saw a town citizen being interviewed -- a classic good ole boy. He said, "All these city people don't understand what goes on in the country and they get in an uproar.. well they ought to just mind their own business."

We have to hope & pray that justice will be served.

Is anyone in the neighborhood this happened in reporting it was their cat? Something just seems very off. If LE had evidence this had happened, would she not have already been arrested? If it had indeed happened, it is undoubtedly animal cruelty which is against the law. It feels like we are being manipulated. I just cannot imagine why though.

Yes, there is a cat belonging to an elderly couple who fits the description, that is missing.
Other that that, you seem to have a wrong idea of how LE works in this country. There are lots of people running around suspected of all kinds of things, that haven't been arrested.

It sounds like they really don't care. It is not that difficult to determine if a photo is authentic or not. What do they think she was holding if not the poor dead cat she had just killed? Did she not admit to the deed?

MOO

Okay, going to be graphic here and I apologize if I upset anyone, this was upsetting to me. In the picture I saw of the cute little vet holding up dead kitty with an arrow straight through it's head, one of the back legs had recently been cut off at the joint. WTF? Someone else theorized that she had it hanging by the back leg because hitting a kitty with an arrow straight through the head is a pretty damn nigh impossible shot if kitty was moving. Where did his back leg go? It is definitely a recent cut.

Yeah, you are right on all accounts, plus mom said her and hubby(?) were there for the whole thing and she took the pic. Burns my cookies that two of the people commenting to her cat photo are public employees in Wyoming, one for the County, the other for the Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory at the University of Wyoming. That's not to mention one is also a business owner and one or two of them work at the same vet clinic.

I just thought it was hidden by the bush? But, I think there is more to the story. On her blog page, someone claims to be an expert and that the cat was actually shot from the front.

What is most disturbing in the aftermath is finding the number of communities in this country where the beliefs are not pet-friendly and using guns and weapons are just part of "hunting for sport". In other words, blatant animal abuse is "no big deal". It would almost seem the mentality is still in a bygone era. Thankfully I am not in such a place.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I didn't see a really high percentage of that though, but it still shocks me to see it at all.

You're not kidding. It's just jaw dropping that she would think for a single second that this was ok. She even said she wouldn't get fired 'because I'm aweseome'.

What is really upsetting for me is that apparently other members of staff at the clinic where she works wrote FB messages supporting her? Is this true? (I'm not on facebook).

If her colleagues thought this was ok .. then I must be living in some kind of parallel universe.

I truly hope this woman never finds work again as a vet. Who in their right mind would trust her to care for their precious animals anyway? I know I sure wouldn't. I find her vile, narcissistic, and completely disgusting.

When it first came out it was said to be a feral cat. We have both, domesticated cats. and because we have a lot of woods on our property we have had feral cats as well. Three of our adopted cats were at one time feral kittens but all one has to do is love them and touch them when they are young and they will be the best furry friends ever the rest of their lives. We do see other feral cats roaming on our land but there only seems to be 4-5 at one time. I suppose they may go to other homes in the neighborhood and are adopted by them. The ones I see are extremely healthy. Since we started seeing them a few years ago I haven't seen one snake or field mice at all.

We have a foundation where I live and they will take the feral cats and relocate them to farmers land and place them in barns where there may be an infestation of snakes and rats. When we can get a feral to come up to us we call this foundation and they neuter them or spay them and then place them with someone who will care for them.

What a despicable human being she truly has to be and she is supposed to care for all animals. Ugggh. That is her job duty. She has to be such a cold evil person to do this to a defenseless animal. It breaks my heart just thinking about it and the cruelty.

IMO

Thank you for answering my question. I appreciate that.
To correct your assumption, I do have an understanding of how LE works in this country. I am sure you did not intend that to be as demeaning as it felt. A public display of breaking the law would not be ignored in my opinion.
