Is anyone checking out her prior cities (Coppell, Keller)? I doubt she would have any reason to be there, but they should probably be considered on the map.

I did not realize how close Alpine is to the border. Living here in SE TX, we won't even travel to Nuevo Progreso anymore for shopping, it's just too dangerous. I have spoken with land owners near the border who deal with migrants crossing on their land frequently. If Zuzu was out walking her dog late at night.....that's not good.
But I have my theory of what happened. JMO

I don't know what's going on with these boards but I can't type a space bar without the form filling in stuff from my last edit/paste. No matter where that came from. In the case of my last post it was from a text message. Not cool.L ETS see how this Ione works

Are you using a computer or a mobile device/tablet? I had internet issues yesterday and was using my iPhone. Posting was a nightmare so I downloaded the Tapatalk App, its free and I had no issues posting with it.

If you are on a computer try a different browser.

Since Alpine PD wasn't planning to search more until they had leads, the expansion of the search area tells me that LE has received information somehow. I wonder if examining the jeep yielded clues or if someone saw the jeep or the car in these areas. They have really called in the "troops"! I wonder how they are deciding which "areas" of this remote vastness to search.

For mapping...Marathon (east of Alpine on 90), Ft. Davis (northish on 118), South Brewster County (includes Big Bend National Park to the border with Mexico), Marfa/Presidio county (just west of Brewster county also bordering Mexico).

I suggest sending a PM to Tricia, telling her the issue and what device you are using. She will forward the info to the tech guy. This is what I did yesterday regarding all the issues I've been complaining about on this thread.

News reports about the expanded search. They don't say what prompted it.

And from Fox, an example of sloppy, inaccurate reporting. LE is not looking for the vehicles. They have them. They are asking if anyone saw the vehicles between those hours. You can't believe every word MSM writes about these cases, I'm afraid.

The Alpine Police Department is also looking for two vehicles possibly related to Verk's disappearance: a grey 2006 Jeep Liberty and a 2004 Mazda Miata convertible with a beige top. Both vehicles, police said, were seen in the area between 12 a.m. and 10:00 am on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

BOMBSHELL...Boyfriend's apartment searched. He was taken in for questioning but released when he obtained an attorney. He has not been officially identified. He is listed as a POI.

Start your engines, sleuthers! Be ready if and when he is named.

BBM.

I'm glad that was pointed out. I wish LE would have been more precise in saying they have the vehicles in their impound. When they first made the request there was a comment on the police fb page that said the vehicles were in impound. This, the cordoning off her apt as a crime scene, the request for ranchers to look for recently disturbed soil, the mention of zuzu in an article about domestic violence all indicates they have more evidence she is dead, IMO. They have not said they have anyone in custody or they are looking for any suspect but I really can't help but wonder where the boyfriend she went to the movies with is right now.

Thank you for an answer, ha I just asked where he was! I hope they are keeping a close eye on him.

Wednesday 12:10 p.m. update: At midday Wednesday investigators could be seen taking evidence out of the apartment belonging to Zuzu Verk's boyfriend.

According to Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson the boyfriend is listed as a Person of Interest in the case at this time. He has not been officially identified by authorities.
The boyfriend was taken in for questioning but later released after he got an attorney, Sheriff Dodson tells CBS 7.

You must have been posting when I was. They have questioned the unnamed boyfriend and he is a POI.

I agree with your reasoning about having evidence she is dead. :(

ETA: We keep posting at the same time! :)

Yes, posting is slow for some reason and I didn't see your post before I posted mine.

Thanks! Now we just need our expert map-maker and house locator Skibaboo to find the location. I'll go look (though I haven't had much luck in using google maps to find places without addresses).

Streetview here I come!

This might help. More pics

Ugh. I am so sad to hear of the development with the bf. When I first saw Zuzu, she reminded me so much of Christina Morris. I'm so sick to death of these men thinking women are theirs to do whatever they want with.
