Seems like CITV were sensationalising things a bit. They really made it sound like there was a development in Adrian's whereabouts. So much so that my heart missed a beat. Now it looks like the press conference was about a reward being offered, which of course is a good thing if not a little late.

On the Find Adrian f/b I see his mother has said since the reward was offered 6 phone calls have been received with information. Do hope every little bit is useful.

I wouldn't put too much hope on the calls. Rewards tend to attract a lot of whackjobs.

A video has been made of Adrian's last known movements. Mostly country lanes with a few residences. Can't believe there is still no sign of him.

After watching this video the only thing I get from it is somebody must of hit him while drink driving panicked put him in the boot and removed him from the area and that's why he's still not been found all this time later.

I'm wondering what he was shouting and cursing about. Was he high? Disoriented? Maybe got into a fight with the taxi driver?

He was drunk and probably shouting and cursing that he'd lost his wallet and phone.

That's exactly what I've thought from the beginning ...

I may have misremembered but didn't the police check/ask garages and bodywork places if they'd had damaged cars in for repair? Smashed windscreen at least I'd think.

FGS must take a very certain type of person if this is what happened, why not just a 'hit and run' that time of night? but how else could he disappear so completely?

Will add I still have thoughts (much as I'd prefer not to) on Ade being put in a boat/yacht to be hidden and disposed of, just hope that didn't happen.

I think if Adrian was drunk and already unsteady, it wouldn't take a huge impact to knock him off his feet - banged head - panicked in boot and then there's no going back.

I have also thought this from early on.... it's such a small community if someone knocked him over it's very possible he/she knew exactly who Adrian was and just couldn't face fessing up. Alternatively that person could stand to lose a lot from admitting to an accident, especially if they were drink driving. And as time goes by it gets ever harder to confess, and there is less likelihood of being caught. Adrian could be buried, or out at sea, anywhere by now, no trace. I fear this will end up an unsolved mystery :(

Unsolved until years and years from now someone may discover his remains, or they'll be washed up somewhere ...

One of my cats is missing at the minute. A huge Tabby Cat Called Teddy who's a gentle giant and such a character - he's been gone since Tuesday when we heard him getting beat up by a local un-neutered Tom and by the time I'd chased off Tom, Teddy had run somewhere to hide and that's that. We've posters up, flyers letterboxed, late night torch searches and nothing, we're heartbroken and all I can think about other than Teddy is Adrian and Helen Bailey and all the other people who are missing and how on earth their loved ones cope ... if it were my child missing, I don't know as I would cope.

Oh Mrazda, all best vibes that Teddy will find his way home, or you will find him. I know the feeling all to well....one of mine went awol several years ago... We did so much searching, plus flyers etc.... In the end our lovely little man found his way home, but it was a very hard time..

Sorry folks ... as soft-hearted as we are, I've had to remove a lot of caring posts about dear kitty. We all hope for a good outcome, but this thread is dedicated to discussion of Adrian's case, so let's try to not go so far off-topic.

:tyou:

A video showing Adrian's father, friends and family searching the North Coast. This area I understand has not been searched by LE. Rough, steep and overgrown terrain as you can see.

"These searches have been organised by the father of Adrian Lynch we say "these" searches because we are aware that this was the third one to take place in as many weeks. It has to be said that the dedication, and commitment, of those searching is incredible. These people know they are putting their health and safety at great risk yet they toil away for around three hours a session in the hope of bringing some closure to a family left in the most unimaginable limbo and turmoil."

Notice the bit about the 2:33am taxi driver who has not yet come forward?? There's no way anyone on that island is unaware of what happened that night, I wonder how many taxi drivers there are on Jersey? I think someone, at least one person, is hiding a very big secret.

Sorry Cagney, missed that bit, can you clarify please. ETA, ok just re-watched video, hmm, strange, the camera would've seen the make of car I would've thought, surely the cops have followed that up ?

Unless a local said they'd got a cab home that night and they knew they'd got in at 2:30, maybe?

Or... I just found this article about Jersey taxis. Not totally sure if the photos are file pics or actual ones (but another google tells me the reg format is correct for Channel Islands) but all of those cabs have a yellow taxi sign on top of the car. If CCTV had picked up a blurry image they might have been able to tell it had the sign.
