In one scene he enters a creepy house shrouded in darkness.

He picks up a key from a table and uses it to unlock a door with blood streaming over it in the shape of an X.

The boy can be heard hamming up his fear as he plays the game.

He says: “It’s giving me options on where to go.

Haven't seen them myself but the article as a whole sounds like typical anti-gaming scaremongering to me, as a gamer it really annoys me when the media bring games into it, playing computer games is a perfectly normal activity these days, but it's the current "this will corrupt our youth!" scapegoat, following horror movies and rock and roll music. Only way I'd see relevance would be if he had a particular interest in games where the player enacts torture/killing in a particularly realistic manner, focussing clearly on one individual victim. The description of this sounds more like the player is meant to be being scared by the atmosphere, not contributing to the scariness.

I play one game with all kinds of demonic and evil symbolism in the background, including torture implements inside some buildings, where I kill thousands upon thousands, severing heads and body parts. That game could easily be spun in much the same way as this article, but my character is actually the good hero protecting the innocent citizens of my land from invasions of demons and cultists, in a rather unrealistic way of blowing away tens of them at a time; anyone who actually played it would never see a problem (for older teens at least, I'll grant the blood and gore is a bit much for younger children), but the papers could twist it any way they liked!

Other clips discovered were equally gruesome, including one showing a premature baby dying in a sink.

After seeing the blood-soaked foetus, his boyish voice repeats: “What the *advertiser censored**, what the *advertiser censored**, what the *advertiser censored**?” He says: “I want out now. Oh my God, the shivers.”

But his mock fear quickly turns to delight as he adds: “Well guys, this has been the introduction to what seems to be the best demo I’ve ever seen — I will totally be playing the full game.”

Dahmer technically didn't abuse animals as far as I am aware, although that tends to be the common view of him. He collected roadkill as a teenager and would store it in jars and do science experiments on it using acid. He was very much into taxidermy. In fact he once took a dog into the woods and planned on stabbing it but couldn't go through with it, so let it go. He also had a pet dog called Frisky who he adored.

Sorry to go off topic but I find Dahmer very fascinating.

This is why police and people, in general, need to take animal abuse more seriously. This nutjob apparently went around skinning cats and what exactly was done about it? That alone should have had him put in a psychiatric unit or locked up, even if he was young.

I mean, look at the Bulger case. You have Robert (who was said to be the worst of the two) married to a man who knows his history, never reoffended etc. Then you have JV who, well, has never seemed to change at all.

I know this thread is for Alesha and what that poor little girl went through is unfathomable, I just hope her family can heal as best as they can. She should have never had to experience what she did.

And I don't mean to go off-topic but just after I was reading about him killing cats my little cat came up and lay beside me and I just can't fathom how someone can be so callous with such disregard towards life for any living being. It's horrifying. Some people are deranged.
