With every new snippet of info it still sounds to me like someone trying to find their way home In an unfamiliar place. But where is he? For crying out loud. If he has got into trouble trying to get home surely we would have found him by now? But there is nothing at present to make me think suspicious circumstances. It's mind boggling and what a shame for his family/friends.

I do still find this whole vanishing odd. I really do and I can't place my finger on it. Unfortunately, if he got lost or has found himself suck, he would of been found be now. I think we can me almost certain that something has happened...and it is very possible that it will involve water, however I'm still uncertain about it being a simple drunk man stumbling into water.

Just my opinion.

Sorry if this has already been shared, just more footage of what is believed to be him.

Further CCTV footage has come to light in the search to find missing London firefighter Anthony Knott.

A man believed to be Anthony was captured on the opposite side of the road from the Elephant and Castle at 7.19pm on Friday 20 December. He was walking away from the town towards Offham Road, but at 7.37pm walked back into town towards Market Street where he was seen walking at 7.41pm.

It’s not very clear, but he has distinctive walk and we’re hoping that someone who was in the area at the time may have seen him.

Sadly its the same old story and if you the family and friends don't do all the groundwork really quickly, the police force just don't have the resources to collate all the necessary info before its wiped over etc. In the Corrie McKeague case it was alleged Police only caputured some CCTV as they were convinced he was only in one area, but later on it was proved he could have been elsewhere. Also people in that case, witnesses etc, phoned in to the Police but the Police didn't follow up. So the family asked for people to report in again but it became apparent that the general public were of the mindset of 'I've phoned in my sighting, therefore the Police will deal with it' but they just did not have the resources or realise it hadn't been dealt with. So with this current missing case its brilliant the family and friends are totally on it. If you know them, then tell them not to hope or believe the Police all they can, they will only be able to do all they can with restrictions and it also depends who is in charge and finances etc and how many other big cases are ongoing at the time.

Having followed the Corrie case from the off, there was so many missed oppertunities at the beginning to gather evidence , CCTV etc . Despite the best efforts Corries family are still in limbo over his disappearance during a night out . Anthony's family seem to be quick into action despite their worry and I cant blame them . Time ticks away and so does any clues to the disappearance. Hopefully Anthony's family and friends will get a resolution to their loved one sudden and unusual disappearance

Anthony Knott: Best friend of missing firefighter says he has simply 'vanished'

"
Friend Steve Shepherd said: "It's just out of character. He was happy [in his] home life, friends, family. I spoke to him on the Thursday, we were going for a drink on the Saturday. We had future plans.

"It's just unusual. He's vanished and we don't know where."

People aren't always as happy as they appear to be though. The amount of times I've heard people say things like this and it turned out the situation was quite different.

I mean, not to totally dismiss what he said though, it may well be the case that he was happy.

The CCTV that shows him behind people carrying carrier bags (near the pedestrian crossing) - could be have been asking them directions and they directed him back the way as he turned back the way at that point?
I think the video clip is misleading because they appear to have stitched together two pieces of footage taken 18 minutes apart.

He goes past the camera at 7.19pm and returns in the other direction at 7.37pm.

Two different people standing outside the pub also, between those two times.

I'm thinking maybe he was walking up and down because he lost his mobile? Someone could have stolen his mobile (and they would immediately switch it off)

Doesn't explain where he is though

A couple of comments made by Anthony's close family which I've picked up on FB sites may be helpful to know. Lewes seems to have been chosen because geographically it is a go between location for various members of the group out socialising that night. His partner has commented that he is not familiar with Lewes. The implication was that he may well have been disoriented and looking to find his way back to his buddies. It doesn't help us understand why or how he wandered far enough away to get lost tho, if that is what happened.

Apologies I can't post links because it would breach tos as its not an official FB site dedicated to finding him, it's a local Lewes site. But comments are from his partner.

If he was wandering, trying to get back to his mates, then why didn’t he phone one of of them, to ask which pub they were in.
or was he too drunk to think logically ?

Someone commented on the FB group about this distinctive walk, which his partner has mentioned him being disoriented in the footage - the comment suggested that he seems to have hurt his leg. Anybody agree with that?

Anyone on here able to improve this video?

Anyone on here able to improve this video?
There is a cleaned up zoomed in version on the Lewes Facebook group. It shows 2 people (looks to me like a man and a woman) walking up the street each carrying what appear to be white bags. A third person (believed to be the MISPER) follows in the same direction but is walking faster. The pair turn and look in the direction of the MISPER as if he has called to them or shouted something to someone beyond them (who is not captured in the frame). Some are speculating that the MISPER then pushes one of the two but ive watched the enhanced versions several times and cant see any push. The female carrying the bag then crosses the road calmly at the crossing. The male bag carrier and the MISPER cannot be seen (they couod have crossed the road or carried on walking). To be honest the footage is such poor quality im not sure how reliable the identification of the MISPER is. It seems to me he is identified because of his gait! The problem with this is a heavy reliance is being placed on this footage which is just encouraging wild speculation.
