Deceased/Not Found UK - April Jones, 5, Machynlleth, Wales, 1 Oct 2012 #1 *M. Bridger guilty*

POLICE have 96 hours to question or charge the 46 year old man arrested in connection with missing five year old April Jones' disappearance.

Dyfed Powys Police said they could not confirm the man's identity but he was named locally as Mark Bridger.

The time limit extends from his arrest at about 4pm today until Saturday afternoon.

Police have confirmed that they are looking at possible links between April's abduction and a suspected attempt last week.

That focuses on a report of a vehicle seen “acting suspiciously” in the Aberystwyth area, the apparent target being a young schoolboy.

Mr John said it was too early to say whether any such links existed and whether the earlier report was an attempted abduction.

One element that puzzled the people living at Bryn-y-Gog was why no one had seen the vehicle on the estate. If there had been a strange car or van cruising around they would have spotted it, they said. At the same time, they said, they could not believe a local person could have done such a thing.

Behind the scenes the police inquiry was continuing. It is understood that as early as Monday evening they had someone, a local man, whom they wanted to speak to. He drove a vehicle similar to the one believed to have been involved in April's abduction.

On Tuesday a press conference was called. People thought April's family would attend. Before they could get to the conference room at Aberystwyth, a local man, aged 46, was arrested as he walked near Machynlleth. Within minutes police said the development was "significant" but urged people to keep looking for April. As night fell the search continued.

I seriously doubt they would let the mom drive to the area, she would be taken by police there. Like I said before I believe this is just someone who lives in the cordoned off area.

How many kids were playing with April when she disappeared? I read that some had left by the time she was abducted but was it stated anywhere exactly how many were still around? And how many saw her get in the van? Was it just one child or more that witnessed it?

I've not seen a report saying how many children were out but it was more than one I think. They just said the children reported seeing April get into the van but didn't say how many.

I've just put my 5 year old to bed and given her the biggest hug ever! Praying and hoping for April

I am very worried there is not going to be a good outcome in this case they sky news coverage shows they are searching a river. Its terrible if he as taken April an innocent child he is pure evil.
