This has only made the news in the last couple of hours here in Australia. My heart is breaking for April's family. I'm praying there will be a good outcome, but it doesn't look good. :(

I live in the US and have been watching live coverage on Sky News all day on my computer. They will probably show the interview with the son again at some point. FWIW, the son has only known his father for about two months, they have no actual father/son relationship according to the interview.

Thank you. I have been watching there too but it's the same few stories looping over and over, i thought i was going crazy! It says i can't watch live due to not being in the UK. Strange that you can watch and i can't. I'll just keep up via the news stories/updates.

The same thing is happening with me. I can't watch live due to not being in the UK

They couldn't deny or confirm whether Bridges has ever been in a relationship with Coral Jones, I hadn't heard that suggestion before.

I just came on to post that... and previously they had said that MB was known to have fathered several children in the town/area. Its opened up all sorts of theories in my mind.
(no MSM link as was during chat on Sky News Live)

I am unable to spend as much time on here I would like as I have a newborn but I am following closely online/tv and helping spread the news online - twitter/fb etc.

As ever my thoughts are with the family, continuing to find hope that April will be found soon.

I have been watching and praying along with everyone since April's case began. I so hope I'm wrong but I don't think she is alive. It hurts so much to think of how afraid she must have been when she realized this person she thought she could trust suddenly turned on her and that he was going to do something really bad to her. I had to stop thinking about that last night because it is just too much. She must have pleaded with him to take her back home. Poor baby.

I know this report is hours old so I am sure it's been discussed and I missed it. But has he confessed or are they saying he has unwittingly provided information on where to search?

"Detectives hunting for missing five-year-old April Jones are focusing their search on areas suggested by information provided by the man under arrest."

I’m in Canada and am able to view Sky live-stream: http://go.sky.com/vod/page/playLiveTv.do

Or search "Delicast UK TV" and then click on SKY News at the top of the list for the pop-out screen.

The image, taken from Channel 4 News video footage, shows a man walking beside the river at approximately 1.45pm on Tuesday as police scoured the area for missing five-year-old April Jones.

Mark Bridger, 46, was arrested at 5.45pm later the same day.

The police said Mr Bridger was found on the outskirts of the Welsh town of Machynlleth near the Dyfi bridge. He was wearing a camouflage jacket, black over trousers and camouflage trousers.

A man among a group of eight to 10 volunteers told Channel 4 News the person they saw earlier wore similar clothing and matched the police description.

It is understood Mr Bridger asked one of the searchers if they had seen or heard any news in the hunt for April.

Another local person, who knows Mark Bridger, and has seen the picture, believes it is him. Police have examined the footage.

That's about 10 miles away.

Maybe they're checking to see if there's any evidence that could have drifted downriver from Machynlleth. They seem to be leaving no stone unturned, very thorough.

Trained police officers and volunteers will search the flooded Dyfi river for any signs of the missing schoolgirl, while 100 mountain rescue volunteers and 20 dog handlers scour the land.
Police have received 400 calls from members of the public today, following a press conference and emotional appeal from April's family.
Officers this afternoon disclosed they were searching 20 different local scenes and confirmed they had sealed off rural properties including farm houses.
Speaking at a press conference, Detective Superintendent Reg Bevan, from Dyfed Powys Police, said officers were actively pursuing lines of inquiry in a bid to find the missing schoolgirl.
Supt Ian John warned the terrain and geography of the area was "very challenging", adding: "It's been described to me as hostile".

He disclosed they were using a team of kayakers to search the river, and said the RNLI has loaned two vessels to help. A further 100 specialist search officers are working alongside three of the UK's foremost experts in the search for missing persons.
The scope of the search was "unprecendented" in the UK, he said.
Senior officer have pledge they are "in no way scaling back their operation" in the search for April and remain "completely focused and committed" to finding the five-year-old.

Someone left a different skynews link that might work in the UK. I had to use internet explorer as a browser and install an update to silverlight. I was able to get the video afterwards after a screen adjustment.

Might be worth a try to UK viewers as a work around. I'm watching the regular skynews link now.

A couple of thoughts....if the police are searching areas based on 'his' help then perhaps he's leading them up the garden path....and if he is not, the river and riverbanks etc do not inspire much confidence that they are looking for a living child. :(

If somehow April was released into the woods, or she escaped perhaps, I have a strange feeling that she will be found. There is something magical about her face, and a certain maturity in her eyes that I find interesting.

If she is out there, and not in the water, she may be under the careful and loving protection of unseen guardians.

Sorry, forest may not be the correct term.

I know exactly what you mean and pray that you are right.

Miss Raftree said, “She has been in hospital a few times for her condition and with the cerebral palsy her legs just give way. I am so scared for her and I desperately want her home.”

Miss Raftree, a childminder from Aberystwyth, said April’s mother had mentioned that the family had given Bridger’s name to police.

The former soldier moved to the small town in the late Eighties. Locals said he was a close friend of April’s father and was “almost part of the family”.

THE PARENTS of Mark Bridger, who is being quizzed by detectives hunting for five-year-old April Jones, were staying tight lipped at their home near Hailsham last night (Tuesday).

Graham and Pamela Bridger refused to answer the door at their retirement home at Deanland Wood Park at Golden Cross off the A22.

Their 46-year-old son was arrested yesterday in connection with the disappearance of the little girl who was abducted in Machynlleth, near Aberystwyth, at 7pm on Monday.

Neighbours of the couple said Mr and Mrs Bridger kept themselves to themselves and said they did not believe the couple were close to their son, a former soldier.

One neighbour said, “They didn’t keep in touch with him and described him as the prodigal son. He doesn’t visit them and they don’t see him.

“There’s another son that is over quite a lot.”

Hailsham is a small town, I do hope that people do not keep badgering his parents. It doesnt seem that they had much of a relationship with him, they must feel truely awful as well, knowing that their son has been arrested over something horrendous

I'm in the U.S. and watch Sky News frequently on my computer. I just watched an approximate 45-min. live report about this case on Sky News, and this is the link I used:

When you go to this site, there will be several news stations listed across the top of the screen with Sky News being one of them. Just click.

HTH.

Did I read or dream that this guy was ex-military? If so, depending on rank, he has been taught how to lie convincingly if captured, if this is the case only his ex Sergeant Major would be able to snap him out of his training and get at the truth, Heddlu (Welsh for Police), would be no match to question a bloke with forces training.

As we all know a lot of ex military are reintegrated to "normal" life, but with many mental scars - I'm not making excuses for this heinous act (if it was him).

The general mood of the search went more intense and probably darker when it was inferred this morning when Heddlu, whilst grateful for community help, asked for them to lie low so that their professionals were not distracted from the search.
