With respect, I really think there are enough 'variables' in this case without adding more!

Gosh. Am I the only person who thinks it odd that there have been three specific child abduction attempts in a fairly small part of Wales within 8 weeks (including AJ), where the vehicle described exactly matches the original description given out, i.e. a small white van?

Yes, MB may be absolutely 100% guilty.

However, some of us are sitting on the fence until we know more...and the view from up here is really interesting because it takes in all possibilities and variables - which ultimately may be what leads to finding AJ, if there are accomplices or if indeed someone else is guilty.

Finding his vehicle at the repair shop, dogs alerting to body fluids/cadaverine perhaps?

jmo.

They also at that point would have had the results of the 7yr olds interview with specialist officers...Maybe it was a mixture of several pieces of evidence clicking together.
I thought it 'important' too that in the police conferences they a few times said they were trying to collate witnesses info with the information they were getting from MB. And I think with a case like this where everybody knows everyone they would 'try' only confirm certain sightings etc if it was stated by more than one witness! FWIW MOO

You sure about that? He'd been living in Llanbrynmair before he moved to Ceinws, do we know that VF was living with him there, or has she always lived on the estate?
Who was the girlfriend before VF? We're talking about a very promiscuous man here who is incapable of holding a relationship together.

Sara Howdle, who says she is the childs godmother said “Call Machynlleth police if you know anything, huge police search in progress.”

Is S.H. the godmother or is it M.R.? Just curious about the discrepancy.

well traditionally for a girl you'd have 2 godmothers and a god father, but who knows.

The police could even be looking at a paedophile ring for all we know. I'm afraid they are quite literally everywhere.

Get away for a day? Generally going shopping to Shrewsbury, or Aberystwyth maybe. Night out? Ha ha ha, don't make me laugh. I think there's a bit of a dance floor in the White Lion. Because Aber's a university town, the nightlife there is leagues better, so many locals go there.
Any news of attempted abductions in those regions, or around the university?

A judge and Jury IF charges were/are bought relating to paedophilia, but nothing of that kind was mentioned in the charges?
I know, but if Aprils body is found and MB found guilty and there are signs of such monstrous behaviour, then he will most certainly be one.

Good points, I quite agree.

Disposal on the other hand:

Dylife/Glaslyn area, if driving an off-road-worthy 4x4, as it is soooo remote: Disposal of erm, 'smaller bits of evidence' amongst wimberry bushes and gorse on uplands/moorland where wild animals go would be a possibility, or disposal in the lake itself. Digging difficult on these natural upland

jmo
This has been my fear from the beginning

Hmm. Not sure he is very promiscuous. He's a 46 year old man who has had a series of long term relationships. How many do we know about? 3 or 4? Seems that many of those connected with him have similar relationship histories and have children with previous partners or have had more than one partner/ marriage. Unless there something I have missed?

I agree, those relationships are spread over a twenty odd year period, I wouldn't say that he seemed to have an excessive amount of ex-partners.

I know what you mean, I really do and to start with my thought were exactly the same....but the more it's gone on and the Police stating they are not now looking for anyone else or any other vehicles my thought are that they have the right man.
It is difficult as I do know other snippets of information that lead me to that conclusion, read on family FB walls before a lot went private, but (rightly) am not allowed to discuss or repeat on here!

I would however LOVE the police to be wrong and April is found alive and well.
It is one of the most upsetting cases for a long time.:moo:

I will be reposting several related Links as memory joggers for us and to allow for quicker access to the information in discussions. The Link below is one of two Links I will be posting regarding the circumstances of MB's arrest on Oct 2.

Missing April Jones: Arrested Man Named as Mark Bridger
October 2, 2012 5:20 PM GMT

Police have arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of abduction in connection with the search for the missing five-year-old girl, April Jones. He has been named as Mark Bridger and is believed to be known to the family.

Speaking at a news conference in Aberystwyth, Det Supt Reg Bevan said: "Within the last hour we have arrested a 46-year-old man from the Machynlleth area who has been detained at Aberystwyth Police Station.

"We made the arrest just outside Machynlleth and we're hopeful that the individual will assist in locating April who is still missing."

"We're still pursuing all lines of inquiry with the view that April is still alive and will continue to do so until we find her."

The man arrested as part of the investigation is being described as an "important development".

Police said they were "actively looking" for the local man and arrested him on foot just north of Machynlleth. Police are now searching for the vehicle belonging to the 46-year-old.

At an earlier press conference, Bevan said there is nothing to suggest that April struggled when she entered the vehicle.

Detectives are working on the theory that April knew the abductor.

Mark Bridger’s left-hand drive Land Rover Discovery was seized at Dovey Autocraft garage in Machynlleth. Times reporter Tom Farmery says it was having work done on it.

Not sure how reliable this actually is but we were discussing on an earlier thread about whether it had just been left there or was in fact being worked on, so thought it's of interest.

Trying to quote but seem unable to do! Veggie fan says AJ had only just started at the school. I did wonder if she was in reception or starting in year one depending on when her birthday fell.

If as Veggie fan says, she was starting reception, I can understand an earlier 'parents evening' straight after school. But can't quite get my head round a 'glowing report' rather than something like 'she is settling in well'

From my experience, 'glowing report' just does not fit after three weeks at school. Am I the only one who feels this?

Some reports say VF and MB broke up a month earlier, that could mean during the previous month of September, so maybe it wasn't a month (as in length) but during the previous week. Then, it's alleged on the net that she had him listed as her partner/husband on the 1st/2nd October. I kinda wonder if they had broken up at all?

If that was the case, even if they had broken up a week earlier, you'd imagine she'd have known the address of the cottage he moved to. There was also an odd statement made in some news article that he was sleeping rough in a car.

If anyone has the sky news link of VF's brother giving an interview, I'd be interested to see it.

Great point - I hadn't really questioned that.
