Appeal ongoing for missing Reds fan

http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/172287-appeal-ongoing-for-missing-reds-fan

Dude, you made the official LFC website news. If you were here you'd be tripping, you need to be home before the next match ////////<< (Rocco the kitten says come home soon too) And you just must be home and safe for the Real Madrid game on the 22nd, you just MUST. I don't know what I'm gonna do if you aren't. I miss you bud.

Do we have any UK SAR experts on WS? Anybody know? I know LE have searched with dogs I just don't know what type and if they would follow his scent? It is hard to understand what is happening with a missing person in the UK, even harder when it is a friend. This week has enlightened me to how horrible this is for family, and friends when someone goes missing. Even as just an online friend it is horrible. I would usually chat to him everyday, and he's not there :(

Might be worth asking Sarx if he could help with UK tracking dog contacts?

I'd also ask TrackerGD (SAR Search Manager) as he may also have contacts in the UK.

Tracker has been tirelessly trying to help (originally from a distance but then eventually also in person) with the extremely frustrating Holly Grim case in PA that's been going on for a long time now and with some less than ideal circumstances.

Tracker just seems so passionate about the work and to know a lot of people, and I'd guess somewhere along the lines has made contacts in other countries also, so perhaps could get you in touch with someone.

Worth skimming the thread if you don't follow it (sorry, it's so much slower now I can remember who all has followed or loosely followed some!) to see how even not actively being involved to the same degree he's still such a wealth of resources, ideas, and supporting those still playing different roles even now when it's slowed a lot.

It's so frustrating that UK press and police do not respond and report as they do in the US. Honestly you do NOT want to have a family member or friend missing there.

There is no news, no way to ' tweet a reporter' to ask for an update, nothing, just silence.

I am so sorry. Wish I had some advice, but I don't.
I check in every day, hoping that your friend was found safe and sound.

This is typical of the UK press, I'm afraid. They really do seem to favour missing females when it comes to giving over huge amounts of press space. I think the local press would be the best place to look, as I'm sure missing people (of either sex) will be covered in the regions they are missing from, even if ignored by the UK media. I'll have a look myself and post anything I find.

Edited to add:

This is the most recent press coverage I can find. Nothing new from the first day he was reported missing.

His family said on the fb page they had a ' positive meeting ' with Police. I take that to mean police were not giving up the search and see no reason to assume the worst. I don't know
how else to interpret a 'positive ' meeting. Anyone ?

Your understanding is as good as mine. :) I hope you're right!

I had a hard time finding the thread again but I've been wondering if you guys had any updates!

I'd interpret it the same way. :)

Heck, unless they left saying it was a negative meeting with the police I'd think it was positive (and hey, think of the cases when it'd seem like just getting the police to meet with families period is a positive!)

Are any of the others who knew Baljeev from online noticing anything looking back on their communications with him prior to his disappearance?

Now that it's been a little longer, it'd seem like there might be more chatter/discussion/digging just out of hopes initially that it'd be unnecessary and he'd just turn up having gotten a little carried away with drinking that last night or something.

Anyway, mostly just wanted to say that while I'd not posted since I'd lost the thread, I've still been thinking of you and Skibaboo and praying that your friend makes his way back to everyone who cares about him soon!

Oh yes, so much.

Oh yes, so much.

It's so difficult for us both as you know. At the request of the police, there are things we cannot talk about.

We have informed the family of everything we know, every possible lead, hint, sign over the last few years, family have informed the police and police were already aware of a lot of it. We have asked others and passed on information. I will say this, I am still hopeful he will be found. Police have searched over 3200 acres of land, and the river, local farmers have searched their land and barns, none of these have led them to him. However we were told that police believe he is still in the area.

Thanks (to both of you!)

I'm actually thrilled to hear that folks were finding things that popped up once you all were able to look back on things as hopefully something will end up being a clue to get him back to all of you who care about him!

is there an equusearch type rescue team in the UK to sonar the waters?

I was hoping that might be the case too. Hoping that its a voluntary disappearance than foul play. As there was no fight or argument first, it would have to be very random for a 24 year old male to be abducted without anything going on beforehand, and there don't seem to be signs of any struggle or foul play. Obviously I don't know any of the inside story of his life, I just hope that he's taking some time out and you hear some good news soon.

MOO.

Wish you were here with us today, BJ!
:)

The Oct 10 update link above mentions he had a "brief argument over who would drive." This sounds minor, wouldn't think it would set him off to leave. Unless he was already moody or down. It doesn't seem he was hit by a car since he wasn't found. I hope he just has good friends he's staying with and needs to be away for a while.
