I was thinking wife on inspection tour and another family member waylaying Claudia. Imo, he was far too young to be her boyfriend.

Your scenario means: wife waiting on Claudia, husband running after his wife to stop her plan (both of them in the burgundy car before)? Wife's outfit/hair according to the witness description looks exactly like Claudia? - I can't imagine it, sorry, IF the witness delivered the right description.

The pair (man with hoodie, woman with Claudia's look) was seen twice by different witnesses. Then your scenario doesn't seem to match better, I think.

Actually FromGermany, I don't really believe this scenario happened at all. It was just a possibility to your querying of another posters theory way back a few threads. That's all sorry, I'm feeling embarrassed now.
I'm also of the view he seems too young to be involved with Claudia.

Edited to add the scenario is not at all viable.
 
Time for a little poll!

There have been at least 6 arrests. A couple have been named, most have not, but rumours abound and names get around. I reckon everyone has been working away on their own theories, so....who thinks one of those arrested killed Claudia? (working on the sad assumption she is no longer with us) and who thinks he/she/they will eventually get busted?

I think that Claudia's killer is most likely to be one of those arrested (don't think it's Mr Snelling MOO ). Would be hopeful that they will eventually get busted, but not so optimistic as the police don't appear to have any evidence after 6 years.

Tomorrow I may change my mind lol But right now I think there is more than one person involved, and one or some of the ones arrested may have been involved but weren't the ones who killed her, or they may have... just something is niggling that the killer is someone related but not 'yet' (hopefully) arrested.

And on that note, yes I do think they will eventually get busted. I don't want to think they will get away with it!
 
Just a few thoughts on cctv evidence presented by NYP on their website, in particular the close timings and proximity of these sightings:
19 March 05.42 am CCTV Silver Ford Focus seen braking. Looking closely (using zoom) at this cctv, I can detect a figure standing in front of a white car parked on the driveway of a property opposite CL's house. It is not there during the clip but is evident when you look closely at the end, when it stops.

19 March 'at around 5.50am' a man is seen to walk from Heworth Road towards the rear CL's house. The man was assumed to be RC but this was never confirmed.

First time poster so be gentle and let me know if i am saying things i shouldn't. Could one of these men have a son that found out about the affair and he confroted claudia that morning, would explain why it was younger man ?

Good point. Is it an assumption because he was wearing a hoodie, which an adult of any age could do, especially on a dark March morning? Or is it because the man in the cctv reconstruction looks youngish? He is described as being around 5'6" while CL is described as 5'5" so I think the clip is slightly misleading as he appears far taller than her in it.

I might suggest that NYP wanted the guy to look the age he appears in the reconstruction or they would have filmed it differently.
Why would a young man in his mid twenties boarding a bus be of interest to them? I'd guess it's because they were looking for a young man of that age who was behaving suspiciously, smoking with his left hand.

This seems to be a rather odd case, ( variety of arrests and releases ect.) so anything in terms of suspects is possible, imo.

Detective Superintendent Dai Malyn, who is leading the hunt for Claudia, 40, said: “We believe she may have been socialising with a person or persons. If this is something a person wants to discuss with us sensitively we can deal with that in a discreet manner.”

Martin Dales, spokesman for Claudia’s father Peter Lawrence, said: “The focus on the Acomb area is very interesting.

“I was not aware she had any friends in that area, I don’t think the family did either. I think it would be sensible for the police to DNA test men living in that area.

Mass DNA testing could involve taking samples from around 2,000 men living in Acomb, a fairly affluent area of York across the city from her Heworth Road home.

It was known as far back as 2009 that she was socialising in the area (see article below mentioning her trips to The Acomb) to meet the kitchen porter. This suggests they believe she was seeing someone else imo. I wonder if the threat of dna testing encouraged someone who was previously reluctant to help, to divulge information this year.

I can see his legs, open in a stride, when the video stops, he appears to be walking.
Another thing I noticed is there should be another shot of the guy walking onto Heworth Place from Heworth road and it might be clearer, it will appear on this camera shot too. I wonder why it's not been shown.
 
Is the guy who walks by the bottom of Heworth place, interrupting bag man, this young man with a light coloured jacket and black trousers? He's caught on camera on the opp side of the road up near Cost cutters.

No he isn't, he's the chap that walks by on the opp side of the road when bag man goes around the back of Claudia's out of sight.
