I would imagine he would expect a parking fine then?
Do we know if he had any on previous nights, if this was a 2-3 week regular thing?

Website says he was due to collect his car the next morning, but it's been said on here that's a very early start for Corrie to do that after a night's drinking, equally so if he asked for a lift into town from a friend.

If it's a Grindr style hookup, not only would it be embarrassing for the family, but the military also. I can absolutely see why things have been hushed up a little to save the family's embarrassment

I don't think a Grindr meeting is embarassing for families or the RAF, it's not the 1950's anymore.

<snip>I also don't entirely believe that the photo image that he sent of himself and friend...to his brother was actually TO his brother. I think it was a photo using a messaging service that his brother was privy to, that was used for his 'guest' to ID him. When his guest asked where he was, he asked to meet in a more discreet spot ('Horseshoe') instead of the more public Hughes doorway
RSBM.
There is confusion on your part here, the message was to a friend and a photo was apparently of Corrie and his brother. I don't recall it being said it was to his brother but it may have been mixed up at the beginning. source http://www.findcorrie.co.uk/2016/11/11/has-the-text-message-corrie-sent-at-0308-been-looked-in-to/

and from Find corrie timeline on main page
"3.08am: Corrie responded to a message from a friend, forwarding an image to them from his phone. This is last time
Corrie used his mobile phone. "

Correction, it says 'the next day' but don't think there would be much leeway for where he was parked.
Robert Boby Way parking is restricted to 1 hour between 9am & 5pm Monday to Friday and if his vehicle was parked in disabled bay, then very likely to get ticketed.

I totally understand that about the vehicles if they are still under investigation.
I know they forensically examined the horseshoe/stairwells and roof etc but were any of the business' ever examined do we know?

The belief he could not have left the Horseshoe area on foot comes from police testing the cameras in the area and determining had he walked out of there he had to have been picked up by a camera thus making it mpossible not to be seen emerging on foot. The family are absolutely adamant about it and Corries Uncle has explained it in depth. He had to have left in a vehicle.

As it is an active police investigation the police have to be very careful about what they release as it could jeopardise a future prosecution. If they have the details of the vehicles I'm confident they'll do everything they can with that information and I see no need why the registrations, names of drivers etc. should have to be released to the general public.

I'm in two minds still back and forth with horseshoe premises/vehicle and hook up gone wrong.
If it's a Grindr style hookup, not only would it be embarrassing for the family, but the military also. I can absolutely see why things have been hushed up a little to save the family's embarrassment. I can also see why the 'D Notice' comment was silently ushered in by UT to put people off the scent.
If an AWOL notification is issued by the military, Corrie's immediate superiors who would fill out the AWOL paperwork would be obliged to enter the details of the absence. This then gets sent up to his CO and onward to the Admin staff with all the. Relevant information on it. That's even BEFORE it gets flagged up to the police for them to allocated the label of 'Missing'.
A hell of a lot of in house diplomacy would be needed (exceptionally possible IMHO) to keep the wolves away from the door. It could explain why proper equipment and manpower wasn't allocated as the military didn't want egg on their face so to speak. I entirely get that now retrospectively.

I think a hook up gone bad is my no 1 theory (If the family are so adamant that leaving on foot is impossible) and dismissing it is the last thing that should be happening. They should be embracing the theory and asking if anyone else has hooked up and met with "anyone" late at night in the area and whether anyone ever felt that the person they met made them feel threatened or uneasy, instead it seems to keep being linked back to an abduction a la Marham.

I think there are many reasons why Corrie may have indulged in reckless behaviour and that the family have information about him that they've not disclosed. The link to marham is a strange one in my opinion, however it's not outside the realms of possibilty if Corrie frequented marham a lot that he couldn't have been befriended by someone close to that area.

The only reason I say that is because if Corrie frequented marham there's only two reasons why that would happen. Either he was doing dirty work for them (as occasionally the will send gunners up there from honington) or he was visiting dcmh. I know which one I think most likely if not in my mind certain.

Agreed. The RAF media staff are usually of the view that today's news story is tomorrow's chip wrapping (ok, not the best analogy for today's online world). They don't often make a fuss or apply for apologies. And what I've seen is you can be gay or a cross-dresser in the RAF, the problem is when it impacts on your work.

Good point but on the flip side they may not need the money or have deep loyalty.

I agree there could be reasons as to why people who know what happened wouldn't claim the reward they could be scared of perp or partner of perp or just down to being loyal. Where I'm from we have a unsolved murder that happened last year big reward put up but, no one will come forward, 2 people were arrested but, let loose as no evidence on them and it is believed certain people gave alibis for them and police have no evidence on them so its still ongoing.

Interesting when you revisit old video clips. Listen at the 14m20s point about the phone...'we know....8-9 miles away'.
Also, 28 minute comment.

I genuinely don't subscribe to the family's thoughts about sleeping outside being normal. Or any of his actions that night. There have been many anomalies. The phone pings and timings being just one. These were the reasons I stepped away temporarily so others could throw their thoughts into the ring.
As far as I know there is absolutely NO evidence to support a meeting apart from circumstantial.
I think Corrie 'slept' outside (which I think is BS) because he was waiting for his 'guest' to arrive at 0130...or so he thought, hence the second burger and large chips. I also don't entirely believe that the photo image that he sent of himself and friend...to his brother was actually TO his brother. I think it was a photo using a messaging service that his brother was privy to, that was used for his 'guest' to ID him. Timing is everything to the military and very few civilians appreciate punctuality. The 0324 was a definite jog to a 0330 collection in my mind....and probably someone he met in Flex that lived in the BM/M area.

Thanks for that, MidsummersDay.

I personally don't have much of a theory as to what has happened.

But I do think that as Corrie's movements and habits were known to several people in the town (such as bouncers, people in the clubs, take-away staff), as well as his colleagues, there must be a few people with a few good ideas as to what has happened to him. Locals will also know who else is around the town at that time.

I could be wrong here but I suspect that the reward that's been put up on behalf of the family is aimed at people living or working in the town who might have ideas, but are reluctant to come forward for fear of publicity or recriminations from someone unsavory.

Just a thought, could the 0340 'Lurker/Legs' man be the actual driver of the vehicle? He certainly seems to be evading detection very, very well.

He wouldn't actually spend the whole night sleeping in the town. Early on his mum did say he would maybe go for a nap somewhere but never all night. She also said he sometimes would walk home but she was referring to when he lived in his home town in Scotland where home was a much shorter distance away.

I see.

I still want to know why he didn't get a taxi home after he had finished his food, or directly after he woke up.

I wonder if he actually ate all that food? We haven't seen the CCTV footage of Corrie in the doorway. If he bought food for two, then surely he left a half full box. Seems odd to buy such a large order just for himself... also, the clubs etc close at 3.00am I think? Was that what he was waiting for? But the food would have been cold by then... puzzled!

....possibly because he was waiting for someone???

Yep. And if this was his normal pattern on a night out, as his family suggests, his friends and colleagues and probably the family would know what was going on. I really think that a lot more is know about in the background here than has been made public.

I thought he shared his food with a homeless person so I don't think he did eat it all?

Lurker looking like they are wearing a long skirt (perhaps knitted type) and heels to me?

The whole thing seems odd to me, TBH, but maybe I'm just getting old and a bit behind the times!

Why haven't we seen the footage or even a still of Corrie in the doorway? Is there something there that investigators or the family don't want in the public domain?
