One thing I think is strange in this case is the lack of any friends coming forward and talking much about C. Except for April, I don't recall any MSM articles. Seeing as he was at Honington for 3 years, that seems unusual to me. I know people will say that the RAF will have told them to keep quiet, but what about the village of Honiton or other places he frequented in those three years, friends he made etc? Maybe isn't it time some of those friends spoke up now?
JMO of course.

It''s not really a news story worth publishing. His family have already really been proactive with the media. I can't see an editor being that interested in a "I was friends with Corrie" story when you could instead publish the latest update from whichever side from his family.

I totaly agree I have always found it strainge that not even some old friend he knew in Scotland has said he normaly did this that and another on a night out , not even an X girlfriend spilling the beans for a few quid, total silence from everyone he knew, not even a slight whisper that I used to know him and what a great mate he was and all that, very odd,

Ex RAF people could have something to say but have not come forward or stories have not been published, and newspapers as we know will publish almost anything, unless told not to.

So what we may have is:

Newspapers editors (all of them?) not interested;
People dont want to speak;
Nobody has anything to say, or;
Media under restrictions

another option people unwilling to talk , for other reasons , could be paid to keep quiet , or even it's not in your best interest to say anything, imo

There's not a lot to Honington village. IME no-one even used the local pub; they would go into town as it was livelier and had more options; several people in a taxi or using the transport from base made it easy to travel. There's a shop/post office and takeaway across the road from camp, but what's interesting if C went in there?

Thanks for your responses. I've grown up in a farming community and there's always people ready to talk usually. That's why I do find it strange. Let's hope he is found, even if it is in LF, to be able to give a resolution to the family.

could be paid to keep quiet ,

That's a bit Harvey Weinstein! Who on earth do you imagine would be doing the paying off exactly??

He was just a young man who went missing not a celebrity.

Love that saying "a bit Harvey Weinstein". :laughing:
He did have celebrity friends though IIRC. :thinking:
(Eta. OT but I recommend the bbc article about HW's victims. He should have a thread on here - it is truly awful and I think he will go to jail - many victims - and everyone knew. )

I added that one in. If that is the case I assume you mean the government are paying them?

How would C's friends and associates all be tracked down to be spoken to by some higher power?

Maybe he didn't really have proper friends (I've not heard N drop in the word mates about C socialising at home, only ever with his brothers) or the press has decided what's already out there is enough. What's more of a story; C was nice at school or swinging airman goes missing after night on the town?

It's called investigative journalism but doesn't seem to happen much today- they just pull it off the Internet these days IMO. I was talking about his current friends mainly- the ones he socialised with all over BSE for three years. But friends from prior to that too, from when he was at college for instance, I have not seen a peep. And I'm not saying the regular media necessarily but nothing even on social media seemingly. For someone so popular and the life and soul, I think it smacks a bit of a conspiracy of silence- all JMO of course.

I was under the impression that he didn't really have any close friends?

Or maybe he just wasn't as popular as has been made out and people don't care.

He's the Jimmy Savile of America, albeit with rather more A-listers. Dirty bugger.

There is a thread: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...ment-(Accusations)&highlight=harvey+weinstein

None of this is making sense to me. We have N saying C was the life and soul, loved to party. Yet as has been said by others no friends have ever come forward to speak of C. No old school friends stepped forward in the early days that I know of either. He may have been the life and soul but was he liked for it, or was he looked upon as a nuisance and nobody has anything to say. JMO
