He usually came in with an American guy from the base.

That "from THE base" has me wondering. Said like that it makes me think that THE base is Honington, because if I knew the guy was from one of the US bases I'd have said "He usually came in with an American guy from one of the [other] bases".

Are there any US personnel attached or seconded to Honington?

No updates from family / media since the pod was in BSE last week. It's all gone very quiet.

Three things could happen here I would suggest, either;
a. Go loud with a very bad announcement that we don't want to hear.
b. Go very quiet as they finally realise what's gone off (speculation) OR,
c. An unbelievable story appears as a footer in the paper of Platform 9&3/4, alien abduction or magic carpet ride where all potential charges are dropped and Corrie get a promotion in a years time.

i think we're getting into the realms of discussions that shouldnt be publicised. <mod snip>

To be honest, the longer this goes without a trace or a body, I do sort of think there has to be a possibility that no body has been found because there is no body to be found.

But, we also know that bodies can take a while to be found (the Jersey case for example).

I don't know how anyone else feels about this, but wouldn't an outgoing and gregarious soul like Corrie go stir crazy being shut up in a house or flat for weeks or months, not able to go for a walk, a drive, or the pub?

The other thing is that there was mention by Tony in an earlier update of a vehicle going the wrong way down a one-way street. If that was Cannon Street, what would that mean?

Oh and one more thing...if Corrie gets out of the horseshoe to Cannon St, what kind of people might drive down there late at night? A ring road type thing that goes from external roundabout to external roundabout, then I would bring back in the possibility of Corrie getting a lift from a total stranger. But an inner road, then i am favouring more someone who knows the area reasonably well and less likely to be a total stranger to Corrie.

A final thought for this post...If someone got into a fight with Corrie after leaving the horseshoe in a car, then I might suspect a male with familiarity of the military to admit they picked up Corrie and to say that they leant Corrie bus fare or train fare to go AWOL but didn't know where he was going and haven't had any contact with him since that night. If there is potential for CCTV to show them picking up Corrie, or someone in town to have noticed Corrie disappear at the same time a car was in the area, then I think such a person might want to give themselves an alibi, and that would be one way of doing that.

Out of interest, I visited the Police Pod last week and was very disappointed with the clarity of the CCTV. There were only 6 seats with 3 rows of 2 and the front 4 seats watched the footage on the big screen, while the back 2 watched on a laptop.
The footage was numbered but in random order which made it difficult to identify times, location together with scrutinising blurred figures.
At the end, somebody had asked to look at the footage again of a couple of people which he thought he recognised. I waited and watched but was surprised to see that it was so much clearer on the laptop! On the big screen, all I saw were 2 blurred figures while you could actually see what the individuals were wearing on the laptop! I was so disappointed.
Anyway, I asked the Police Officer present to confirm which clip showed the 4 minute man and she confirmed that they had NOT shown this footage.
it will be interesting to see when we do eventually get this update whether this 4 minute man has been identified or not.

Your first paragraph is an interesting one

By there being no body to be found, do you think that's because (a) he is still alive or (b) he's dead and his body has been rendered beyond finding?

A. They are actively working on leads,,, hence the silence.
B. They have almost nothing and this will go cold.

True that resources are restricted due to other cases and they will have to draw a line under it at some stage. If a person goes "missing" it is only reasonable to prioritise and work on more serious cases.

There have been generous public offers to fund PI's / Specialists which the family have not yet responded to,,,, so what more can be done?

It will be really interesting to see where this goes?

I wish that we had more info about the cars, if they are still of interest of all checked out ok, as if they have found them and they are all ok , some thing is wrong, next we will be told that it was inposible to walk out and a ll the cars are fine he never left in a car, flying carpet job!!!

<modsnip>

My theory ticks ALL the boxes with room to spare. Of course the car could already have been parked inside the 'Horseshoe' in the shadows by one of his mates.....but then why would they have all walked down to Flex unless the driver was drinking, wanted to avoid the busier A roads and cameras and wanted to risk getting all the lads back whilst drunk? Why park a car there anyway at night if it's a known 'selective' environment? Could it have been the American kebab man who picked him up? But then again, Corrie had to wait two and a half hours for him if it was. Either Corrie was exceptionally hungry or he bought a meal for one and a snack for the American. Besides, the American was in the kebab shop eating a pizza anyway....Corrie even had a slice or so we're told. Even more food!

Food for thought (no pun intended).

Has anyone thought about the flash in the cctv with the running man? Struck me as a car being unlocked.

Was the flash that neon blue in the front and side windows of Greggs? If it was from a car then I would say it more likely from xenon or faux xenon headlights. Unlocking a car flashes the indicators and they are orange.

Exactly what I thought when I first read that and how regular would you have to be for the local kebab shop owner to recognise you and who you come in with? If you are buying enough food for 2 each time then probably makes it easier. (I still think two burgers, chips and a kebab is a lot for one and I have often pigged out after a night on the booze when younger)

I was thinking of A, still alive. I am doubtful about this, because even if a person dyed their hair they need a place to go and money for living expenses? I also think there ought to be a huge temptation to find an internet cafe and just message family to say "I'm okay, please don't worry."

I'm just saying that if someone goes missing and you can't find a body in any of the reasonable places, then maybe there was never a body.

As I don't think Thetford forest has been fully searched, I am not really at a point of thinking about B.

My gut says Beck Row is not a good place to look. The forest is a good place for both locality and type of environment...if you found the right type of place, maybe a gap in some bushes, throw some branches over and then cover with some leaves, and far more leaves would have fallen in the past two months for heavier camouflage. This might say more about the way my mind works than anything else, which is a concern to me as I would expect a male perp and their mind will not work the same as mine does.

...another interesting thought straight from outside the box. I originally though it was a car headlight coming around the corner when Markymint pointed it out. If you suspect it to be a car being unlocked that would be at EXACTLY 0340 that the vehicle was accessed. Was the flash after the running man or before the running man?

If that had happened when Corrie was the one walking down that street, then I might think that someone flashed their headlights to say 'over here'. But ten or fifteen minutes later?

Strange they haven't shown nothing of this 4 mim man in the hub, what if he was waiting in a car in the loading bay for corrie, pre arranged to drop a car of for corrie to drive away in then 4 min man gives him the keys and walks of, then all he would have to do is drive of, plenty of back roads around that area so wouldn't matter if he was over the limit,

Can you please set me straight - regarding the the kebab shop, are we talking about 2 different American men?

One that Corrie usually comes in with (but was not there that night), and the 2nd being a different American man that was there in the kebab shoppe that night in black shirt w white letters (that they've already interviewed)?

This is an image of the 'Horseshoe' area where Corrie was last seen. Corrie came from the right of the image. Another image later will clarify the movements...
