That's quite a distance to wander naked or near naked?

It is not as far as it looks in the photo. Less than a five minute walk. They got the position wrong for where the clothes were found as they were searching in the next field closer to where she was found.

There seems to be a bit of confusion over where everything is happening so I have made a map.

The police tent and portaloo are by the entrance to the field next to the quarry. Gaia was not found there, it is just the most convenient place for the police to put their toilets.

Based on the photos and where they were flying their drone when they found the clothes they were scattered in the part of the field marked with the yellow circle. There is a stone wall around the field about 5ft high with a gate at either side on the east and west walls. The footpath runs parallel to the southern wall of the field but the path is well below the height of the wall so you wouldn't be able to see over it. This time of year the footpath is muddy so Gaia may have jumped the gates and crossed the fields to save getting muddy. She knows that area so she would know it as a shortcut.

Based on the police search area yesterday Gaia was somewhere in the blue area. An educated guess based on the location of the clothes and her direction of travel I would think she was somewhere in the top left of the blue area. There is a steep drop, about 30ft or more, down the side of the hill into the gorse and blackthorn bushes below so if she was stumbling around in the dark and disorientated she would only have to walk off of the footpath a few degrees and end up falling down the hill.

ACTUALLY- have they circled where the police tent was by the road- and the clothes were found in the field slightly nearer? John?

I expect johnsmith will answer himself but from a bit of local knowledge I actually think the field the mirror have have circled (directly south of Belle Vue quarry track) is the field that the clothes were found in and also where the police tent is set up. Slightly different to what johnsmith reckoned on his previous map but either way he had it a lot closer than anyone else inc MSM. Of course I stand to be corrected.

The map was pretty accurate. The mirror had the clothes in the wrong place but if they are right about where she was found then that would be in the top left edge of the blue circle on my map.

Gaia died of natural causes related to her epilepsy and/or hypothermia

Wouldn't that be somewhat of a long wait? Not to mention you could be seen forcing her to walk to the place where she was found, seen holding her hostage while she died from natural exposure which could take some time, and seen walking back. (And for most of that time, the police could have been called if you were seen doing these things.) If you drove, your vehicle would be near where she was found for a long period of time, possibly enough for the police to mark it as abandoned; if you walked from town, that's even more time people could have seen you.

I agree. She already had mental disturbances through epilepsy and possibly self medicated with other substances, which is enough to explain events such as confusion and running off. Anything else is complicating something quite simple in my opinion.

There was a white tent in the corner where the mirror shows this afternoon. I cycled up to St Albans Head this afternoon to see where they were working and from what I could see at that distance the tent did look to be in that area.

Maybe they triggered a fatal seizure in some way (e.g. by stressing her out or giving her narcotics), they thought they'd directly killed her, and dumped her body out of fear.

With the many possibilities of what could have happened I started to wonder if she tripped over the oxygen trolley during the shouting at RD house and hit her head, there was blood, the dogs found blood etc at one point but decided that was stupid. If its true the police found no marks then I was definitely having stupid thoughts.

No she was in a field close to a steep drop (not cliff). Correct me someone if I'm wrong.

May I respectfully ask what your career is? It seems as if you have training in the police and medical fields and specialize in epilepsy management? Perhaps you could become a verified specialist?

Hi flute. Yes, the nature of my work has me covering a lot of areas! I manage support services for vulnerable adults. This includes 24 hour supported living for adults with disabilities, which is where my medical training is from. Many of the people we support have epilepsy, so I have a broad knowledge of epilepsy management. Many years ago, the police contacted me to ask if I would work with a family where the child had been murdered. The family had had previous dealings with the police, and would not work with them. The police employed me, really in what would be considered a FLO role I suppose, duties-wise. We eventually managed to secure a murder conviction in the case, and the police nominated me for 2 awards. Since then, whenever they have a missing/murdered child and I guess a tricky case surrounding it in some way, they contact me to come in and work with the family. In a nutshell

So is the tent in the clothing field? I identified the possible tent location as the lower red ring this morning after looking at Google Maps. If I've got that right I'm quite chuffed.
However I will happily admit I am wrong if the tent is located in/nearer the clothing field!

I'm having a hard time believing that this was somehow without involving someone else yanno ? Jus seems too bizarre to NOT have anyone else

My heart goes out to all her family during this time as well as in the future

Removing clothing is something that people with hypothermia do, but people with hypothermia don't jump off cliffs.
