I was curious about it being beyond them in terms of money..... I realise most of the money is tied up in assets, but I am presuming they weren't cash short if she's worth £4m.

RSBM...

I think one of the few - perhaps the only - thing IS said which was truthful was that Helen was very careful with money.
So she may have been reluctant to pay out so much, particularly when they found out that Brocket was removing some of the furniture from the property.

The story about how they dried sheets at the house - by draping them over dining room chairs - also sounded to me like a money saver - not using the tumble drier - even though cash was not in short supply.

SINFIELD

That's why I found it curious; I thought it would be in interesting to see just how careful she was.

They look to be average wedding costs to me (a little over, but it's one of your nicer venues in a nice loaction), so I imagine the reason he brings up all these things is because it's a constant source of annoyance to him that he's managed to lure the wealthy woman to him, but is unable to spend the wealth or even live in a fashion that befits the wealth.

It just adds motive on top of motive for me.

I agree, I dont think those prices are OTT for a wedding at that venue.

He really didn't do his homework properly did he. He saw loads of money but didn't bother to understand Helen's character. Well either that or he thought he was so charming and irresistible that she would change the habits of a lifetime and shower him with cash !

Hi all,
Went to court on Wednesday to obviously find out the trial had been postponed and checked before I made the journey on Thursday:)
Feeling very frustrated as very much want to be there to see everything unfolding as each part of the jigsaw comes together (I think we`ve got all the corners now:) However I`ve tons to do myself and am trying to jiggle stuff around. Will see how next week goes and hope very much to be able to attend at least on some days.
I was surprised to read that JS`s daughter was giving evidence as I was unaware of her existence - anyone??? It seems like she did not give evidence today.
I was surprised because it adds another dimension and also to Helen`s Will perhaps?
Thanks to everyone for all the updates, information and thoughts.

Who is JS? Can't be the son.... Can't work it out!

Thanks for all your updates, Michelle - always appreciated :)

ETA: GOT IT! Sorry, I was on the Stewart track.

Ah...thanks Millie!

I also get confused with the different surnames:)

See obit above. John Sinfield had 2 children and 3 grandchildren - possibly more now - at time of his death. Wonder how JS's children got along with Helen, as with IS's two there appears a definite frostiness.

I have just listened to his 999 call part one. He doesn't sound in the least emotional or worried to me, strikingly so. Too many things to say here but I shall keep it short..... he said "her dog" a couple of times. They'd been together long enough for it to be 'their dog' I would think?

I have the impression they weren't that close actually - well not what I would call close. All these anxieties he speaks of, they are what one discusses with one's partner/spouse surely? Sharing doesn't seem to come in to it for him. I feel he wasn't particularly interested in Helen or her life. An absolutely cold, unemotional person imo. All that has ever concerned him is his own position and his own state - other people don't matter to him.
Do wonder about his first marriage.

I agree re the initials. John Sinfield was always called JS by Helen and others, so I tend to use those initials for him...with the result that whenever I mention Jamie Stewart, I say Jamie, rather than JS.

The bit at the beginning ............. I .... we.....thought we should report it

revealing the true facts there. He had no intention of reporting it until forced to do so by Helen's brother and concerned friends.

And a bit further on where he says he has contacted four people - then goes on to say this is her brother and two friends.. ( which doesnt add up to 4 ) when once again, we know it was the other way round.

At the end of this week, I am not happy about*the evidence given by the sons and the girlfriend, which seem to conflict at times, and I would like to re-call them if I were the prosecutor.

I want to know more about how he survived financially, his business and known business associates in between 2010 and 2016.*

I want to know, if he acted alone, how given his abdominal surgery and seeming difficulty, he managed to move the body from the house and ram down that veritably small tank.*

Lol Alyce - I think to IS - 2 + 1 does indeed equal 4!!! Or so he hopes he can persuade us.....

Millie, my understanding is that this is going to be looked at in depth as part of the evidence.
Did his wife have life insurance?
Could he be a secret gambler?

MillyM it really pains me to post this, but I think he could have used the wheelie bin. Noone else would take any notice and a body would be completely hidden.]
Little carrying required either.

Millie, it also puzzles me what she could ever have had in common with him, let alone seen in him. Different classes altogether it seems... I still think she had misgivings about him towards the end, no matter what the witnesses say about there being no problems between the two of them. IS states she could be a private person regarding her personal life and I think this was true, she gave of herself in her blogs what she wanted to divulge , but kept other things to herself. This is pure speculation, of course.

Been lurking here watching this trial with great interest. As a result of this I found this forum and been reading through everything here over the past week.
The prosecution really need to get answers from the police about the reason why there was such a difficulty in removing the lid of the cesspit. This is to me the biggest hole in the prosecution's case so far. If it were just a health and safety issue then this needs to be clarified, as presented so far it seems that it was impossible for one person to move hence supporting IS's claim that Nick and Joe did it.

Huge thanks Alyce for all those updates. Also your comments/corrections/ details (as all you other great posters) are very informative and welcome.
Yes I so agree. Thanks too for the sense of humor that seeps out as we need it.

Excellent thought. And who would think twice about someone moving a wheelie bin round their property.

Hi Cheeseman and :welcome4:

agree re the lid of the pit...this seems to be the Defence's ace card so far...

Am really hoping it was either health and safety or that it had been stuck / glued in some way ( I dont mean actual glue, but some form of sticking agent ).

The only other avenue for the Pros ( if it wasnt H&S or glued ) is if IS could have had assistance.
