There are two further searches for Jamie tomorrow at Eglinton County Park 12:30 and 15:30. Now missing for 70 days. Like others have said I haven't seen much info at all in relation to him becoming a dad.

Snapchat is jamycannon but like FB no activity known. His phone was apparently broken but he had it on him at time of going missing- unclear whether it was broken in terms of calling capacity but could access wifi or was completely broken- presumably there must have been something usefulness for him to carry it.

Interesting. Eglinton is next door to me. Haven't heard much about the case in recent weeks. Lots of posters up. Are they going to search the park? I wonder if there is a connection.

They are going to search the park but no info as to any new details as to why. It had previously been said that Jamie and friends spent time in the park walking and biking so may just be due to this. I haven't seen any details whether the park has already been searched prior.

Worried family and friends of Jamie Cannon are yet again appealing for volunteers to join them in a mass search of Fairlie Moors, near Largs, this Sunday [August 8] as part of ongoing efforts to trace the 19-year-old on the 81st day since he was reported missing.

Anyone wishing to help this Sunday is to meet at the entrance of the Moors at 1pm where they will be given directions by the search lead.

They are also asking people to change their Facebook profile picture to Jamie’s missing poster to raise awareness to further afield.

Chief inspector Alan Paterson said: “We remain committed to searching for Jamie and are using all specialist resources available to us. We are extremely grateful to the local community who continue to help us locate him.

“Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1623 of May 22.”

Police have confirmed that a potential sighting of Jamie Cannon in Dumfries and Galloway was not the missing Saltcoats teenager.

19-year-old Jamie Cannon was last seen on May 20 at home, with his family saying it's out of character for him to disappear.

On Tuesday [August 17] a lorry driver claimed to have spotted Jamie twice over the last week around the Cairnryan area, near Stranraer, of Dumfries and Galloway.

However, after checking several cameras around the ferry terminals in the region, and investigating further leads reported around Port William and Glen Luce, the police confirmed with the family that it was not Jamie.

Close friends of the family are asking people to keep looking for Jamie and to report any sighting to Police Scotland using 101 but not to contact the family directly.

A spokesperson for Jamie's family said: "We are sad to say the sighting was not Jamie. Three cameras have confirmed it was a light-haired boy that is smaller than Jamie. They are still waiting on one more camera image to see but with three main cameras and not being him we cannot see the fourth being him.

"Lynn And John thank everyone who went down to look and search, also messages and calls and your lovely comments and posts to them regarding this. I would appreciate that no one contacts any family members regarding this, it's been a hard few days waiting to find out if they were getting their son home at last and are gutted it's not him.

"Please keep sharing Jamie's posts it's much appreciated by everyone. If you have seen Jamie please take a photo contact 101 with 1623 on 22nd May."

Chief Inspector Alan Paterson said: “We remain committed to searching for Jamie and are using all specialist resources available to us. We are extremely grateful to the local community who continue to help us locate him.

“Officers have received a number of calls regarding Jamie since he was reported missing and we recently received information on a possible sighting of him in the Dumfries and Galloway area, however following further enquiries by officers, we do not believe this was Jamie.

“Any information we receive will be fully investigated and I would again urge anyone who has any details on Jamie’s whereabouts to contact us as soon as possible through 101 quoting 1623 of 22 May.”

Jamie Cannon: Dumfries and Galloway sighting 'was not missing Saltcoats teen'

The hunt for Jamie Cannon has drawn the attention of search and rescue specialists from over the Irish Sea.

A specialist team of five Search and Rescue dogs and their eight handlers have lent their support in the hunt for the 19-year-old who disappeared from his home in May.

Familiar with aiding the Coastguard in rescuing vulnerable and missing persons, the highly-trained 'victim recovery' dogs, were used to search the ICI plant in Stevenston on Sunday and Monday for clues of the missing Saltcoats teenager last weekend.

Ryan Gray, who organises K9 Search and Rescue NI, spoke to the Herald about the search: "We were joined by our Scottish colleagues K9 Search and Recovery Scotland, there were six of us, four dogs and two guys from Scotland, with one of their dogs.

"We've been following the case, it is quite a high profile case in Northern Ireland.

"An opportunity came when we were in Scotland doing some training with Search and Rescue teams across the UK, we said to Jamie's family were able to come on those dates.

"The family had given us some information about Jamie, and using that, we could profile him, it's a device called 'lost person behaviour' where we can figure out where people like Jamie may go and that's what we work on.

"Police Scotland were very helpful and they joined us on the Sunday, we started our search in the ICI."

NI Search and rescue dogs join search for missing Saltcoats teen Jamie Cannon

The cousin of missing Saltcoats teen Jamie Cannon has issued an emotional plea on national radio this afternoon as the search enters its fifth month.

Jamie was last seen on Thursday, May 20 around 10am on Kinnier Road. He was reported missing on Saturday, May 22.

[...]

Jamie's cousin Leanne Graham spoke to BBC Drivetime show this afternoon [Tuesday, September 21] about the efforts the family has gone to keep the 19-year-old in the public conscience: "Jamie is a typical young man, he just loved life and going to work at Cecchini's in Ardrossan and relaxing with his friends. He was learning bricklaying in college.

"It has been absolutely devastating just not knowing where he is. Each day we are just devastated he hasn't turned up at the house again. You just expect one day he will just walk back through the door.

"It is now 123 days since he was last seen."

When asked by presenter John Beattie about what is being done to look for Jamie, Leanne explained the efforts done in the Three Towns to search for her cousin, she said: "The whole family have been going out every day and searching along with the police.

"We've managed to get a team from Northern Ireland, K9 search and rescue who has been fundraising for as they are a charity.

"They have got more dogs than Police Scotland, they can cover large areas with dogs instead of relying on one dog."

Leanne also spoke to the BBC about Jamie's last recorded movements and the reasons for the lack of footage since: "The last time he was seen was about half an hour after he left the house that morning [on May 22].

"He was on his way to college. That was the last sighting, he hasn't been picked up anywhere since.

"The tapes for the supermarkets nearby were looped over by the time the police got to them. We will never know if he got into a car.

"He hasn't turned his bank card, his phone hasn't been pinged, it was broken and his sim card wasn't put into a new phone."

When asked what she wants and what the public can do, Leanne concluded:

"I just want everybody to keep sharing the posts about Jamie we put up to try to get him home for Lynn and John and his two brothers.

"His mum is absolutely devastated, she is putting on a brave face but she is crumbling inside not having Jamie home.

"I just want him to walk through the door or the police find him sitting in somebody's house.

"Just come home, he won't be in any trouble. We just want him back with his brothers."

Leanne also spoke to the BBC about Jamie's last recorded movements and the reasons for the lack of footage since: "The last time he was seen was about half an hour after he left the house that morning [on May 22]. I think this is an error and should read May 20th. May 22nd is when he was reported missing

It must be so devastating for the family and loved ones knowing that footage did exist which could have given them a lead to go on. It serves as a reminder to everyone the importance of obtaining as much cctv in the area as fast as possible - but I imagine there's difficulties with doing that, with regards to data protection, even Police have to officially request it from the owner don't they, and it's probably not a quick process. You're probably more likely to get cctv without all the red tape from residents private cameras or local community type shops rather than big companies. Even if they just film the footage with their phone before it's wiped and save it until the official request comes in, but in a big company you'd probably get in trouble for that.

"He hasn't turned his bank card, his phone hasn't been pinged, it was broken and his sim card wasn't put into a new phone."

My heart goes out to Jamie's loved ones. Hoping answers come soon

Jamie Cannon was on his way to college when he went missing in North Ayrshire 125 days ago.

The 19-year-old's phone was broken and he has not been in contact with his family since - something police said was "very out of character".

Officers have spent the last four months combing his home town Saltcoats, including the golf course where he was last seen.

But with a small number of police dogs available for the case, Jamie's family have taken up the search themselves.

His cousin, Leanne Graham, told BBC Radio Scotland's Drivetime with John Beattie programme that Jamie's "devastated" parents and brothers are "praying he walks through the door".

As well as studying brick laying in college, Jamie worked at a local Italian restaurant. Leanne described him as a "typical young man" who loved life and relaxing with his friends.

As for his mother Lynn, Leanne said she is "putting on a brave face, but she's crumbling inside" without her son. "He's not in any trouble, we just want him home," Leanne added.

Ch Insp Alan Paterson said the force remains "committed" to searching for him and are using all specialist resources available.

He said: "We are extremely grateful to the local community who continue to help us locate him. Officers have received a number of calls regarding Jamie since he was reported missing and all information received is investigated fully.

"We are in regular contact with his family and we are keeping them informed at every stage of our inquiries.

"This has been an incredibly difficult few months for them having to deal with not knowing where Jamie is and we are committed to following every line of inquiry available to us in order to find him."
