I'm puzzled how Blakeley can admit to strangling Jayden, but deny murder and hope to be found guilty only of manslaughter. I'll have to look up what constitutes manslaughter.

I'm surprised he isn't facing additional charges on interfering with a body - two actually, because he disturbed someone else's grave when allegedly burying poor Jayden.

He will probably claim that he didn't intend to kill her, that he had his hands round her neck for whatever reason, and "she suddenly went limp". Vincent Tabak tried this defence in the Joanna Yeates case.

I have heard that BB put Jayden into his own grandfather's grave, but don't know if that's true.
 
Ah, Blakeley is facing additional charges of perverting the course of justice. I suppose the burial of Jayden's body in the grave comes under those charges. He admits to that.

I've seen rumours it was Blakeley's relative's grave too. If it's true, it's very strange and disturbing. Unless that grave was only recent, and he chose it knowing it would be easy to get into. I guess the churchwarden or vicar noticed it first. That must have been so dreadful, finding the grave redug and it slowly dawning it might be related to a missing girl from the area......even worse if one of Blakeley's own relatives saw it first, and knew he knew her.

To be honest, this case has always sounded like straight up murder to me, but we will see.

I made a little timeline to try and work out what was done to find Jayden after she went missing and where a possible problem occured.

Dec 3rd. Jayden leaves the hostel where she had been living for about a month (since leaving her parent's home) and fails to return

The first public police and media reports don't seem to appear until a full week later. I believe this may be the cause of the police complaints commission investigation into the handling of the case.

Dec 8th/9th. Man is seen dragging heavy suitcase across fields in Didcot, but it doesn't appear to have been reported, or if it was, police didn't immediately link it to Jayden's disappearance. I can't find any reports of this incident anywhere until days later.

Dec 10th. Police appeal for public's help.

Dec 12th. Police issue an appeal for help. Say they're increasingly concerned but believe Jayden could still be in the area.
