Hmmm...so now CAG becomes MW. I wonder if he stayed at the office party and numerous others could verify that. Wonder what time he left?

Why would Jo leave a works do early, but clearly be in the mood to carry on drinking? Does the time Jo sent the text coincide with her smiling away in Bargain Booze (8.20pm)? I still say she looked pleased with herself.

The last time we had someone named in the press, they were arrested the day after, wonder if the same will happen here.

Interesting development.

Wow. There is a total contradiction about this last text message now.
This is what numerous sources reported last week. Including this one here
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ect-sent-text-message-male-friend-asleep.html

Joanna Yeates's final text message on the night she vanished was to ask a friend out for a drink, it emerged today.

The male friend, who was thought to be asleep, did not reply and is now wrestling with guilt that he could have prevented her death.

Joanna, 25, sent the message on her way home after leaving colleagues in a pub as she passed close to the home of one of her brother's friends.

She had not seen him for almost two years and decided to ask him to meet up with him in Clifton on the spur of the moment. The recipient, who has not been named, was interviewed by police as a matter of routine because phone records showed Joanna had been in touch.
He decided not to reply because he thought it was too late.

How come the drastic change in story now then?

I know, it is confusing....B/F not a suspect..but is a witness.
No signs of sexual assault...but might be sexually motivated! I think they may be deliberately vague...just to cover themselves in case things change.

My experience with cases like this is "witness" means the person is still being investigated, but until some solid evidence turns up, they remain a witness. Solid evidence, no matter how small, means the witness is further investigated, questioned and can become a suspect if things don't add up. Does a witness have the benefit of a lawyer?

Matthew, 28 - who is not a suspect - said: "The text message she sent me was, 'Where are you? Do you fancy a drink?'

I would feel very worried when they say 'your not a suspect' They end up getting arrested lol.
It's almost like when a football manager gets the 'full backing of the board'
He gets the boot after the next match! :seeya:

That is quite a change in the story ... from sleeping to being at a company party. Cases that are chased by media often get the facts wrong in the first few weeks. Once the dust settles, it all gets sorted out.

It's interesting that the letter to the pub is being played down.

I think the last article that appeared in the Sun quoted 'a source' for info relating to the text, this new one appears to be quoting Mathew Wood directly. Could explain.

Jo Yeates' Facebook friends are asked for DNA samples as calls for mass screening grow

Excerpt:"Officers are convinced that Miss Yeates, who was missing for eight days before her body was found a short drive from her home on Christmas Day, was killed by someone she knew.

The landscape architect had up to 200 friends on the website. Police are also asking for background information about her life and her relationship with her boyfriend Greg Reardon."

Are police convinced that it was someone she knew because she let the person into the apartment? Is it possible that she'd had a couple of drinks, was looking for someone to have another drink with, and when someone came to the door she simply opened the door without thinking?

RE: the pizza label. Could just be a crank who thinks its funny. All info regarding the pizza and the last pub she drank in have been public knowledge since Day 1. Unless the pizza label has Joanna's DNA on it, if I were the police I'd chuck it in the box labelled 'screwballs'! :D

Whoever did this, I don't think they are some 'Cat and Mouse' killer. IMO, it was an accident or spur of the moment thing with no foresight or planning.

BIB - interesting, but shouldn't that have been done from the very first moment she was reported missing?:waitasec:

This gives me the impression the boyfriend has not yet been entirely ruled out. Who does she know that would take out the trash after attacking her in the apartment around 9 (probably when she was attacked, no proof yet that she ate pizza)?

Hi. You don't say! Too true lol.

He was asleep and didnt reply, no he was at a party and replied an hour later
He was texted at 8pm, no it was 8.20pm
Joanna walked near his house on way home, no he had since moved across town

Have to be very careful with info used from media reports unless it's factual if you are try and do any websleuthing I have learned.

It could be a crazy stalker that kills women in 1974 and 2010, without committing sexual assult, but I doubt it. I agree that the idea of a "cat & mouse" letter also seems farfetched.

I think the police are deliberately letting the press lead us up the garden path! That way they still hold all the info. and make the press look silly!

Found the answer that I was looking for. He "came home at about 8pm" on Sunday.

I want my Jo back for Christmas: Sobbing boyfriend of missing architect tells how he came home to find she had disappeared

Last updated at 11:10 AM on 23rd December 2010

He said: ‘On Sunday night I came home at about 8pm after staying with my family in Sheffield, but Jo wasn’t home.

‘Over the weekend I had tried calling and texting her and didn’t have a reply, but Jo didn’t always reply so it wasn’t completely out of character.

‘Then when I arrived home it was obvious our cat had been left on his own and was going mad. I waited up for her until about midnight and then when she didn’t return I started to get really worried.

‘I went through her bag, which she had left on the table and found it had all the stuff she would need to take with her, things like her purse and her keys.

‘I called the police and reported her missing and also phoned her parents. Since then I haven’t slept much.

Does anyone know what time Greg Reardon got home on the Sunday?

"Her boyfriend Greg Reardon, 27, raised the alarm shortly before midnight on Sunday after returning from a visit to Sheffield to see his brother."

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-st...ler-caught-on-cctv-on-bridge-115875-22809044/

I think I remember reading that he waited 3 hours and called her parents after midnight, and then called police. I don't know where I read that, but will look for the link.

Unless there's loads they aren't telling us....a fresh perspective on this, through fresh eyes is a good idea.

ty. I found an article where it says that he "came home at about 8pm" on Sunday. (see my last post) It appears that he waited around 4 hours before contacting the police.
