It’s Derry McCann, the wedding day rapist. They are not brothers as far as I can tell ( Joseph McCann’s brothers are Sean and Michael) but Derry could be related, some similarities in his crimes and things he said to his victims. Derry McCann had victims of both genres and varied ages too.

Back at the Old Bailey again today - the jury have retired in the case of Joseph McCann, who faces 37 charges, including rape, sexual assault, false imprisonment and kidnapping.

Looks like no verdict today. I guess it will take some time to go through the individual charges. (Or maybe there is a verdict and they'll force him into court for it in the morning.)

Meanwhile, this must be an incredibly stressful time for JM's many alleged victims.

Used toilet tissue was retrieved from the Watford home of a woman who was allegedly raped in her own bed by McCann on April 21.

Prosecutor Daniel Fugallo told jurors that DNA on the tissue was 'at least one billion times more likely' to have come from McCann than an unrelated person.

McCann's DNA was also identified on swabs taken from a woman who was allegedly snatched in Walthamstow, east London, and repeatedly raped on April 25.

Crime scene examiners went to the home in Greater Manchester where the defendant allegedly tied up a mother and abused her two children on May 5.

A Player's cigarette butt on the floor of the master bedroom was found to have McCann's DNA on it.

His saliva was also identified on the door of a Fiat car belonging to a 71-year-old woman who was allegedly abducted outside a Morrisons supermarket, the court heard.

A white vest top and jogging bottoms worn by McCann's next alleged victim - a 13-year-old girl - were also forensically linked to the defendant, according to agreed facts read in court.

Jurors were told that it was accepted by the defence that McCann was the man encountered by all the alleged victims.

He had to have help, someone must have supplied him with that car. Why didn't the police find it? He has ran rings around them it seems.

About 5 people were arrested just after him, for assisting a suspect. No news on that since. I’m going to be broad here but crushing the car wouldn’t have been difficult, given his background and him being a career car thief. With he and his brothers being in and out of jail, you’d imagine his associates ain’t too keen to help the police.

Mr Justice Edis is asking to be told about the license conditions Joseph McCann was on when he committed these crimes.

It would be very useful to know this and also, as we have said many times, to know which prison and at what time he was released on February 15.
