iPhone messages
Prosecutor David Mcloughlin KC is going through mobile phone evidence with Det Con Acres, of Lancashire Police's Force Major Investigation Team.
Messages were recovered from the 'notes' on Burfield's phone. These were backed up to the iCloud on April 4 but could have been created earlier. These were messages which had been drafted but by April 4 they had not been sent anywhere.
On April 7, DCBL - Direct Collections Bailiffs Ltd were called by Andrew Burfield to check the value and fees relating to a payment. Burfield's iPhone was last backed up on April 4. Any messages or information recovered after that day was taken directly from the phone's storage, Det Con Acres says.
In a message sent on April 7 Burfield tells Katie he loves her and can't wait for the day they can 'put all this behind us', which he says will be 'pretty soon'.
'Pretty soon seems a million miles away Andy', Katie replied.
'He says it is only just over two weeks away, when Katie's life will change for the better. 'You won't look back', he adds.

CCTV footage
A CCTV clip, recovered from April 9, shows Burfield leaving flowers and a bar of Galaxy chocolate on Katie's car, outside The Grove Care Home in Burnley, where Katie worked.
Shortly after Katie messaged Burfield, saying: "Now that's what I mean about little things, Andy"
On Monday April 11 Katie tried to make a payment of £300 to the bailiffs. She was unable to make the payment through the automated phone line so phoned the office to pay.
She messaged him, saying: "you frustrate me."

Evening before the 22nd
Burfield replied he loved her too, and she needed to take time to calm down. He said he would see her on 22nd.
Later that night they chatted about what they were doing the evening, before Burfield saying he was hitting the sack before his 'breakfast date'. The following morning CCTV showed Burfield and Katie at the Brewers Fayre in Queen Victoria Road, Burnley.
At 11:38am Burfield messaged Katie, telling her: Proper love you, I can't believe how much I'm in love with you. Katie replied that Burfield was her best mate and she loved him.
Burfield said he couldn't wait to start their new future together.

"I've never felt safe with anyone"
Burfield said he had opened a bank account in his name registered to her new address and put money in it that she would need. He said it was her money so he had put the same PIN in that she used.
Katie replied that she loved him and "felt safe with him".
"I've never felt safe with anyone", she said.
Katie Kenyon's body was found in a shallow grave in Gisburn Forest. Andrew Burfield, her ex-boyfriend, will today (November 17) be sentenced for her murder.
