Looking at this photo, it looks like the river is protected by railings at least. Locals - how easy would it be to accidently fall in? (I don't personally believe that she would chuck herself in)

I have been thinking this today already and I personally wouldn't have thought it would be easy to fall in at that bit.

It's not open there like say waterways in Amsterdam where you can take a stumble and end up in the water?

However, I guess anything can happen if you are disorientated. I'd be really surprised if she fell in there though.

I don't think she fell in.
Nope nor I ...

We don't know an awful of details or anything about Kirsty's mental state BUT if I had to go on my gut instinct right now, I don't think she would jump in etc

She's deaf so not able to hear anyone approaching (especially from behind) only 5 feet tall and slim too ... would she be able to put up much of a fight against an attacker?

I feel so heartbroken for her children and loved ones :(

ETA - I don't think she seemed disorientated though either, shoes off walking "with purpose" ...

I don't think she fell in either and I don't get the impression she jumped.

I did read though that Kirsty is originally from Airdrie so I'm not sure how familiar she is with the area, that combined with limited capability to communicate if she ended up lost or unable to locate her friends was how I considered disorientation.

Imo it would not be easy to fall into the River Clyde from this area, as well as there being barriers there is also another pavement/walkway so it is not like you would have to be right next to the water if walking on that side of the road. I have posted a picture as if standing at the bottom of James Watt Street where it meets Broomlielaw and if you look across the road you can see how extensive the walkway is. Especially doubting that she may have feel in because it has been reported that she was walking with purpose which to me means she wasn't unsteady/staggering, she had also removed her heels so would be steady on her feet imo.

I don't think it would be easy for her to fall in, especially with her being short.

Weird story but I used to have a hamster, and when it died I couldn't bury it because I didn't have a garden, so I decided I would put him in the river in a box. My plan was to set him in and let him drift down river or whatever, but I could not find anywhere to actually get near the water, I ended up dropping the box over a bridge into the water.

Kirsty Aitchison: Search groups may have found vital clue in the hunt for missing mum

One searcher at Festival Park found a couple who saw someone who looked like Ms Aitchison on Monday night near Govan Road and have passed the information onto the police.

"Fingers crossed it is Kirsty," said Richard MacQueen whose group showed the couple the picture of Ms Aitchison which was taken on Saturday evening and has been widely circulated. "They said it looked like the same person with clothes and face they saw. They said they saw this person last night. We asked them to show us where they saw the person. It was not in Festival Park, it was near Govan Road and (they) showed us where exactly."

The 'rumour' from FB is now MSM

Here is another rumour to add to it, take it for what its worth. From twitter "search teams looking for Kirsty have just entered the industrial park where I work"

Looking at the map there is an industrial park off Govan Road

Friends of missing Glasgow woman Kirsty Aitchison "very hopeful" of finding her alive

A CLOSE friend of missing Glasgow woman Kirsty Aitchison has said her loved ones are "very hopeful" of finding her alive.
Kirsty's distraught mum Faye joined her friend Elaine on the banks of the River Clyde as divers continued their searches for the missing mum-of-four.
The 30-year-old, who is deaf, was last seen in the early hours of Sunday. She was traced on CCTV walking on the Broomielaw after leaving the Campus bar on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow.
Last night friends of the 30-year-old from the deaf community searched Robroyston Park close to Kirsty's home.
Kirsty's friend Elaine said: "We would like to thank the deaf community and someone out there must know something. Whatever has happened, we just want to get her back but as time is going on we are becoming more concerned.
"We are down here this now to see if anything is progressing.
"We are very hopeful of finding her."

I don't have much faith in sightings of missing persons. If she was "spotted" on monday night in plantation square where was she for two days? What was she eating and dirnking? Where did she sleep? It doesn't really make sense. Do people think she is sleeping rough or something? Weather has been a bit wet for the last few days so her white skirt would have been totally filthy by monday if she had been sleeping in the park.

I am also not very hopeful when it comes to sightings so long after a person has went missing, in this case Kirsty would have to have been either staying with someone prior to being spotted or like you say sleeping rough. In either instance I would imagine more would have been determined about her whereabouts.

Regarding the twitter rumour - It's a group of her friends that are searching the industrial estate. If it were an official police search I may have got my hopes up.

This makes me believe the police have good reason to believe she is not in any of these areas. Reminds me of the Becky Watts public/family searches.

In my opinion you can't really fall into the Clyde by accident. Anywhere I have seen has railings.

I remember one night my boyfriend and I went to something at the SECC and decided to walk back to the city centre along the path next to the Clyde. There was quite a few unsavoury characters we met, there is the hotel down there? A lot further a long.
And if she did walk over one of the bridges it's just a whole new area of people that hang about. But at that time?

That's annoying about her phone. I wonder if the still give off signals when then network provider has cut it off.

.
People don't hang about the south side of the river at night. They do on the north as it is right beside the city centre. If you cross the Tradeston it's just flats or industrial buildings. When you cross the Clyde Arc it leads to a large road which is a fast bus corridoor and a housing estate on the other side. There are no pubs/clubs or shops very close by to the south of the river attract people to hang around at 3am.

The main reason I'm so pessemistic about this one is the fastlink bus corridoor along the Broomielaw is quite new and has a lot of cctv along it - I imagine that is where the image of her came from. I think she would have been picked up on camera had she walked further along Broomielaw in either direction.

I don't believe that this woman would just disappear and leave her beautiful children distraught.
I'm afraid I see only 2 options next - body found (possibly in river) or man arrested on suspicion of ... :(

Thank you. I really do agree. There is just nothing down there at that time!

I do wish we knew where she was seen on CCTV and which direction she was heading?

Was she on the casino side or the other side?

So many questions...

Sadly I think this isn't going to have a good outcome.

And also does anyone know who she had an argument with? Was it a friend she was out with? Or a boyfriend/ex - over the phone? Would she have been able to use her phone in Campus? Does it have wifi?

100% agree... I just can't imagine a young mum leaving her 4 kids voluntarily.
