It sounds like they managed to trace her walking from Sauchiehall Street to Broomielaw on cctv.
There really isn't a reason to go that direction at night if you live in Robroyston, it's the wrong direction and there aren't any pubs/clubs/takeaways on it. The only place I can even think of near there is a 24 hour Mcdonalds in Finneston but you'd be much quicker walking down St Vincent Street to get to it and there are dozens of takeaways on and around Sauchiehall Street.
I think it is most likely she jumped in the river sadly. I cycle along Broomielaw a lot and It's quite normal to me to see the Humane Society out searching for a body. The fences by the river always have flowers attached to them. I once saw a man trying to jump off the "squiggly" bridge but some people saved him.
But, why would they be searching upstream? It's really puzzling me....
