Govan Road is indeed on the opposite side of the river from Campus Club Sauchiehall Street

It is Govan Road and its on the opposite side of the river from Campus Club Sauchiehall Street.

Update on Caroline Everest Case from 26th November 2015 no further info on case in news since

"Caroline Everest, 18, was last seen at the Corporation nightclub in Milton Street in the early hours of Sunday.

Her body was discovered on Tuesday in the Porter Brook river, near Ecclesall Road. Her death is "unexplained".

South Yorkshire Police said the 31-year-old man had been bailed pending further enquiries.

The cause of her death has not yet been determined after a post-mortem examination proved "inconclusive"."

Thanks for making this thread Cagney.

I studied my masters at GCU and campus was our unofficial Union so I've been following Kirsty's story since the weekend.

From what I can gather from the FB group, a few of the people from the night out went to the casino after Campus. Which could explain why she headed in that direction?

Also, someone asked how Kirsty may communicate with a taxi driver and again, I read on the group that it's common to write an address on a phone for a taxi driver to then read.

Now THAT would make sense!

I think some people have assumed that as she was "walking with purpose" up that way that the purpose was to 'jump in the river' but it makes much more sense to me that after she'd fallen out with someone at Campus, she would want to go up to the Casino to find another friend for the 'you'll never guess what so and so said me' type thing ...

But where IS she now?
 
I just seen the update about friends being in the Casino.
It will have CCTV footage so should be pretty easy to find out if she ever made it there, and security on the door.
I wonder if they have been able to find out the last texts she made?
 
From what I can gather, some friends were staying at the EuroHostel too which is seconds from the casino. It has 24 hour manned reception desk though from what I can remember so yeah, you would think someone or CCTV would be able to clarify if she was in either place.

I have seen a discussion on facebook with comments saying that Kirsty has an iphone but that it was cut off at the time....the discussion was about whether Apple or her mobile provider would be of any help considering her phone had been cut off at the time. I took this to mean that she had no means of using the phone due to network provider cutting it off as there was no mention of it being due to battery power.

With regards to the Casino CCTV, any reason that will not have been checked already?

Yeah I think you're right as there was mention of her only being able to use it whilst on wifi which would suggest cut off or no credit in it.

There is someone with the same surname as Kirsty posting on facebook pages that have been set up to help find her...."As much as me and the rest of the family appreciate everybodys efforts and commitments to find kirsty, we ask that nothing else including where you are carrying out your respective searches to be put on facebook. This information is being picked up by people who we would prefer didnt know about it".

I wonder what people she is referring to, seems odd but perhaps nothing to it.
 
I think that's maybe a sister but yeah I thought it was strange.

There has been quite A LOT of information shared on that page about the events of the night that maybe shouldn't have been.

I see there's another group set up purely for searches now.

I think you are right about it being a sister. I perhaps missed all the information that was first being shared but still felt the wording was odd.

There was also a post from what appears to be another sister confirming Kirsty had been found, she then updated that it had been a false alarm; I thought that it was also odd she would share that information without being absolutely sure it was Kirsty. Although for some people I guess it is just second nature to update social media....
 
Has anyone got a copy of The Sun? My friend just text me saying that there was a supposed rape at the EuroHostel on the Friday night part of the Deaf Booze Weekend.

I used to work at festival park, its not an area I felt particularly safe in during the day nevermind at night time. What casino did they go to? Theres the one at the euro hostel at and then towards Festival park theres the one at the quay?
