s Emma I am from Scotland and have been viewing these boards for months I think Websleuths is an amazing community ! When I read about this case I was hoping it would be on Websleuths ! I have been looking in to a number of missing women in Glasgow and Edinburgh some who sadly were found dead which I hope won't be the case here . I find it interesting that in Edinburgh especially foreign students have went missing later being found dead and we're hastily marked suicide . I will write my full thoughts on these other cases in a relevant post.

There is no mention in the media about the friends Kirsty was out with ? A mobile telephone that could be located ? I'm presuming the police will be keen to keep a certain amount to themselves .

The area Kirsty was last seen on CCTV is part of the red light district (where various prostitutes were taken and murdered years previous the killer never caught ) I am in no way saying Kirstyvwas had anything to do with anything like that but it would be a place not many people would walk on the or own in the dark but alcohol (if she had any) can make people braver . I also noted there looks to be someone standing in CCTV still of Kirsty . I wonder if they have came forward ?

There was mention on the facebook forum that she had a phone but it was "cut off" from the network and she just used Wi-Fi I wonder if Kirsty didn't have a contract as being deaf she wouldn't be making phone calls, she could just use facebook and whatsapp on Wi-Fi? Although she might need 4G signal if she was out and about.

Sorry if it's been covered as I'm quickly trying to catch up . There are 2 24 hours casinos in the area of where akirsty was seen walking there is one on a riverboat and one near Anderson . I read an article that stated some of her friends had gone there .

It's not really fair to name her friends she was with in case they get harassed by the general public/trolls/journalists. If one of them is arrested it's fine to name them at that stage as it's in the publics interest. Otherwise we don't need to know who they are. It's hugely unlikely any of her friends were involved, they were not with her at the time and I'm sure attacking and murdering someone is way riskier if you are a deaf person, it's not like you can hear potential witnesses or police sirens coming or even how loud the person is screaming.

I had a walk around the area. There is another cctv camera towards on James Watt Street. The buildings in both directions along Broomielaw have security cameras on them that I think would have picked her up if she walked up or downstream.

I'm with you on that one!

I really really don't know what to make of it. No new updates I can see today anyway. No fresh appeals.

So I either think they know what there dealing with.


A. She is missing of her own accord.
B. She's harmed herself
C. She's come to harm

I really think they are vague even with her last sighting. It's a large area. They must know which way she headed. Left or right. Why have they not said?

I've been thinking this too.

From what I read they were able to track her route on CCTV to the broomielaw but yet they released one grainy image. Considering Glasgow won funding to trial state of the art CCTV with a centralised operations centre, I would have thought there would have been more to see to help jog people's memories.

I was thinking perhaps they had footage of her jumping off a bridge, or walking onto one and not walking off the other side. I'm sure if they did have proof they would tell the family. But then I just looked at the FB page and her friends and family are still very actively searching for her, so I guess not.

Some more information would be good. As locals have pointed out there should be better CCTV footage and a location/direction would be useful too.

I think you are correct!!! They would have been able to follow her left/right, but not straight ahead.
I'm sure if she had been to the casino or attempted to go into the casino there would be footage, or the police would have updated that was the last place she was seen. There is security on the doors allowing people access. It MUST have cameras outside and in. So I think could be very easily confirmed if she was or attempted to go there.

But if like you say that really is the last camera sighting, she's either went into the Clyde or over the bridge.

I'v just had a look on streetview, if she turned left along Broomielaw (towards the casino) and stayed on that side of the street I see 2 CCTV cameras before she would have came to the Roberstson St junction, and from streetview you can see the Casino clearly has CCTV camera pointing to the door.

I'm off to look the other way!

Seem there is less cameras going the other way, I only can see 2 but they are up the next street and one pointing each way... So I don't know if there would be much footage if she has went down that way.

There is mention of the Eurohostle? But is this just because it's in the area, of were other people staying there? Or do the think she went passed there in that direction?

From what I can gather friends or acquaintances that were on the night out/weekend were staying at the EuroHostel but again, like the casino, I think they would know if she had went there. I'm sure there will be cameras and I remember going back there one night with my friends and the doors were locked and security had to let people in to ensure that no one else was sneaking in that shouldn't be.

I keep popping in, hoping for ANY news ... I know they play things a bit different up in Scotland but I can't help but think, the lack of communication from Police & the river search means that they think Kirsty has ended up in there ... but would they allow her poor Mum to be there watching?

I've just been looking into Karen Buckley just now to check the timeline. As I remember them searching the water then when they were still looking for her but they already had Pacteau in their sights from the off. Then they searched again after they had arrested him to retrieve the knife.

Both Karen and Paige's cases moved quite quickly though. We had the full video of Karen and Pacteau leaving the club on the 15th and she went missing on the 12th and was found on the 16th.

Karen's case was in Glasgow and Paige's case in Dumbarton area near Glasgow both are under the Strathclyde Police force.
