Sorry, I unintentionally added 'specialist' - obviously my mind jumping ahead based on it being a small group of officers being flown in at this late stage.

Force issues statement on why police helicopter was in Hull park
I was thinking it could be a top negotiator trying to break the case with PR
Or
Some top brass to assess the evidence and convince the CPS it meets the threshold for a charge....which makes me think it’s not watertight. It’s such a high profile case they will want to dot the i’s, cross the t’s.

My first case on this forum was Sierra La Mar- I was OBSESSED and online 24-7 for it. To be fair, I was on maternity leave at the time and could actually devote time to it whilst holding a colic suffering poor baby that had me never sleeping...

Mine was Taleka Patrick...never joined in though just read the posts.

I didn't know till recently that UK cases were even on here or I'd have been on years ago.

My thoughts on this:

Why would LS get into the car if she didn't know PR? She must have recognised him from the gym. I don't think she would have got into a taxi (if he told her he was one), as her residence was only a 5 min walk away. In the CCTV footage there doesn't seem to be a struggle when she enters the car. That's why I'm inclined to believe she was familiar with him as a person. Maybe they had chatted at the gym before and he became a bit fixated with her? Maybe he knew from checking her social media that she was out that night? Could it be that he followed her from the club in the taxi and then watched her while she was dropped off? Then he saw her on the bench and thought that now was his chance to approach her. He convinced her to get into his car so she could keep warm/take her home. Whilst in the car is it possible he could have knocked her out? Or convinced her to go for a walk with him. Then took her to the park to do something untold where she regained consciousness? Or she may have went willingly. This is where the screams would have been heard. He tried to silence her which resulted in her death? He then left her body where this happened. Maybe near the second bench? He was then seen to run away. Later returning to try and dispose of the body to remove and possible DNA evidence that would have connected him to the crime. The police possibly have other CCTV of him reentering the park and his excuse is that he just went for a cigarette on the second bench. Which is why last night they were placing evidence markers on the second bench. I really hope she is still alive somewhere but it's not looking good.

I think that entire scenario is entirely plausible

Amazing how an online forum can be so gripping, my other half keeps telling me off

Mine always finds it weird that I'm super observant and can remember things people have said ages ago etc... I always tell him that if a crime is ever committed against him, he better hope I'm there with him as I'd make an *advertiser censored* witness! :p

I wonder if we'll get sudden activity like the CSI team at the bench last night?

Just over two hours to go to 21:11.

Quick question

Who thinks he will

A - Be released without charge - IE cleared completely.

B - Released on bail pending investigation or further enquiries.

C - Charged with Abduction.

D - Charged with murder.

I'm curious to what people are leaning towards now at this very critical time.
B

I'm gonna go with B although I'm hoping they know more than they're letting on about what happened to Libby, so the family can get some answers.

I find it difficult to see how A could happen with all the evidence that's been gathered and the extensions granted. I think they have something, it just might not be enough.

Don't find it weird they're leaving it until late but I am concerned about how spread out the teams gathering evidence are - difficult to see they have concrete information as they seem to be covering all bases.

Leaning towards B but I could see C as well.

Police don't even seem sure that she has passed away so D seems unlikely without a major breakthrough

B or C I'd say as they must have had a good reason to have him the full 96 hours. However no press conference announced? I would expect that would be?

If a crime is ever committed against him you'll be number 1 suspect, if your google history is anything like mine!

C.
I think the police have been very careful not to tell us ANY of the evidence.

Jmo and OT-ish but “binge drinking” (drinking to get drunk every so often) is very common and constantly advised against for college-aged and younger people ...but it does not seem to matter. We did not hear about it at all when I was in college, but it would be hard to say you hadn’t these days.

I really think groups of partiers need a designated driver/walker...one person to stay sober, maybe taking turns. SO many of these cases that result in death (mostly accidental) are when one young drunk adult leaves the bar alone after arriving with a group. The drinking isn’t going to stop so some action needs to happen to save lives...

If she willingly got in the vehicle it's hard to charge for abduction and without a body, murder can not be a charge. It's doubtful they would be cleared completely as they know he is involved in some way and the fact he didn't come forward highlights the suspicion that something isn't right. They just don't have the evidence, that we know of, or they could know a lot more than they are saying which is usually the case.
