I wonder if the police can request footage from those "ring" doorbells?

Because they auto record when motion is detected, they record audio and video in 1080p and have night vision.

Surely someone has them on the streets around where she was last seen?

im sure in earlier media reports they said a bus or car dashcam spotted libby on the bench. Ive looked on google maps and i struggle to see why bet fred and the other commercial properties would have cctv pointing in the bench direction. Is this why LE are struggling to point the finger at Flasher guy as the cctv is not crystal clear ...would this stand up against his defence in court? have they released this hoping someone who knows him can confirm its him.

I feel that the person who comforts her is female in a light coloured padded jacket. It's so hard to see, though. The padded jacket person is linking LS's arm as they walk towards the taxi.

You’re right, sorry I was meant to edit this when we got the clearer footage from the daily mail.

I don’t blame the friends at all (and I’m sure they are beating themselves up quite enough now, all by themselves). She looks drunk, yes, but not incapable drunk - she’s walking and talking and probably no more drunk than many of them had been at one time or another. They saw her into a taxi home and it should have been fine, no worse consequence than a hangover.

It’s what happened next that seems so hard to piece together. Why didn’t she go into the house? Maybe no keys. But then why sit on a bench in the cold? Why was she so obviously distressed that a driver stopped to offer help? Why did she refuse help? Having refused that help, why did she then get into another car, if that *was* her? Why are the police so focused on the park? They must have information/evidence pointing to that area, but don’t seem to have found anything significant, or not what they’re looking for, because they keep going back. And still no Libby. She must be somewhere.

It's 130 metres from that junction to the bench though, and the bench is set back a bit. Could they have got clear enough footage from that distance? Clear enough to confirm it was Libby?

I personally reckon the 11:40 timing of her being on the bench came from a passing bus or other vehicle with dashcam.

Yes and imo probably from the bus

Not sure you were asked but the vehicle with the smoking man in the original CCTV

Do you think that is also 5 door? or is it 3 door?

Hi, yes that car with the smoking man was also a Vauxhall Astra, exactly the same wheels as the arrested persons vehicle. Probably the very same car I'd say.

Oh, it's a 5 door astra, the 3 door Astra of this era has a different shape altogether from the area of the drivers seat backwards and a much larger drivers door too because it's a coupe compared to the 5 door.

Today's statement from Humberside Police

It’s been twelve days since Libby Squire, 21, went missing in Hull. Since that time we have had hundreds of uniformed officers and approximately 50 detectives who have been working around the clock to try and find her.

So far we have had three specialist search advisors overseeing the search, nearly a dozen underwater officers take part, dog teams, support officers from neighbouring forces, teams from YorkSAR and LincsLSAR lowland search and rescue, assistance from Humberside Fire and Rescue, the Coastguard and from NPAS not including incredible support from the public and businesses in Hull.

We thank you all for coming together alongside us while we search for Libby day and night.

Compare Newland, Humberside Police - Police.uk

In the year ending September 2018, the crime rate in Kingston upon Hull was higher than the average crime rate across similar areas.

So I am guessing the police would have good experience in crime.

Or, given everything else in the public sector has been cut to the bone (except MPs and their salaries), the police are perhaps overwhelmed.

Looking at Hull bus times the last one (a number 4) on a Thursday is timetabled from the centre arriving at Beverley Road/Clough Road at 2340.

[Edit: Better wording]

I thought male - bit like the twitchy one in the earlier interview vid.

It was reported that the police had the Howarth St CCTV on the Sunday after she went missing.

I think it's possible they identified PR and his car pretty quickly after that.

Maybe they had him under surveillance for a few day before arrest and witnessed him making repeat visits to oak road park which is why they keep searching there?

The guy that had the recent CCTV footage was just on itv news.
He said he only found the footage yesterday and that the police hadn't even been to ask him for it.

Which is strange, you'd think they'd check all CCTV footage from the area around the Welly.

The sharpened video the DM are showing is so much clearer than the first version they posted.
Why can't the same editing be done on the cobweb video?
Has there been two versions today ?

I’ve just watched itv news and the guy who owns the property business which caught Libby on camera queuing to get into the club said that he volunteered the footage to the police. At no stage had he been asked to check his cameras for footage. This worries me hugely, as how much other footage is out there that the police haven’t enquired about & hasn’t been checked?!!

Just saw the same ...it makes you wonder if they put all their eggs in one basket very quickly...but either way you would have thought the welly would have been a first port of call

Just watched news on TV

The owner of the business with the new CCTV was speaking and said the police only saw it today ..they hadn't asked for any he contacted them????

Maybe it's not that important.

It shows her stumbling and been put in a taxi but other than that nothing major.

The taxi driver has been cleared and they know she was on the bench after that.

Maybe they have better footage from outside the Welly itself and didn't need more?

Maybe the bouncers wear body cams also so had all they needed from there.
