Defendant 'wasn't very nice', court told
Witness Sara Lee Thorne, a nurse at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend, is continuing her evidence about the time she spent with defendant Angharad Williamson on the day Logan Mwangi died last year.

Ms Thorne says the hospital arranges a 2Wish Upon a Star box for bereaved families, which she and Rosie O'Neill gave Williamson after the eight or nine hours they had spent together. Ms Thorne says she wrote her mobile number down in case Williamson ever wanted to contact her.

"She wasn't very nice," says Ms Thorne. "She changed after being questioned by police. She said: 'Why would I want to ring you?' She was angry. It was a little bit odd. Normally parents are very grateful for the time we've spent with them... She just left. She didn't even say goodbye."

Ms Thorne says a police officer took Williamson home before Logan's body was taken to the mortuary.

"Ms O’Neill said: “Her demeanour had changed, almost like something had switched. She was quite aggressive and had a nasty streak about her. She was quite nasty to Rhiannon.”

Ms O’Neill and Ms Thorne said they had given her a Wish Upon A Star box for bereaved parents which contained two small elephant cuddly toys, one which was meant to stay with Logan, with the other to be kept by Williamson and the family.

But they said Williamson dropped the toy on the floor and did not pick it up.

Ms Thorne said she told Williamson she had put contact numbers in the box in case she wanted to speak to them, but Williamson replied: “Why would I want to talk to you?”

Detective cries as she recalls moment

We know that Youtube was acccessed multiple times during the timeline that Logan died, do you think the police will be able to establish WHAT was searched for or viewed on there? I've read about other crimes where the defendant's Youtube activity has been used as major prosecution evidence so does anyone think it will in this case?

they must know what she searched if they know she accessed YT so it's either not relevant at all or totally relevant and the prosecution will drop a bombshell at some point. I think we're due a few bombshells in this trial, I think we've only heard the bare bones as of yet and that's bad enough

I tend to want to believe the best in people and get hung up on details that show actually normal enough behaviour (while the bigger picture indicates guilt), but... the best possibility I can imagine for AW is that she didn't participate in the killing, only the coverup; it's very clear she knew what was happening and really should just admit it.

Some things are explainable enough, mentioning the river for example - what parent living so close to a river wouldn't think of that when their child was missing/found unconscious somewhere outside and nearby? Saying he's cold and hasn't got coat/shoes - anyone with working eyes would be aware that their child's coat and shoes are still in the house when the child is not, and being cold is a logical conclusion from that. Throwing up, well I can say from recent bereavement experience that while I didn't throw up I had to make many visits to the bathroom; sudden severe shock really does a number on my stomach  (And I'd expect the shock to be the case regardless of her involvement or knowledge; either way her child is now dead)

But putting it all together, especially the fact it's clear she was awake... yeah, she knew. The crying without tears I'd previously imagined as possible, indeed, perhaps some people can do that, but again my own recent experience was instant floods of tears, although everyone's different, I guess. I can however sort of understand the second go of "crying" at the hospital after previously being told; could be a case of last hope gone, having not fully believed it when first told by the police. But that only works if she didn't already know he was dead beforehand, and it's clear she must have done.

I hope she only knew and didn't contribute to his death, but I guess it'll be future evidence that'll make that side clearer one way or another, hopefully all round as to who did what. Haven't heard enough about the other two to really form any opinions, although I'm thinking the fact that the youth is on trial at all is an indicator they have good evidence of his involvement in the murder, as surely he'd be strongly advised to plead guilty to PCOJ if that was the only charge; as a child he'd likely not get much for that, if they even prosecuted him at all.

She spitefully accused an innocent woman of this crime.

She is beyond redemption for me.

While there can be no doubt that AW was complicit in the death and cover-up, I agree with Kasmeer that some of her reactions and comments are not in themselves indicative of guilt. Such as being angry and rude to nurses and police. Innocent people might well do or say similar things, and I wouldn't want to see anyone accused or convicted on those sort of grounds alone.

I'll spell it out - I don't think AW is innocent.

Man, woman and boy, 13, arrested over death of five-year-old in Bridgend
The opening article doesn't specify what the cause of death was, or whether or not there were any injuries to the child other than drowning. Unless there's been an update which I missed.
