Sky saying father hasn't been around since Miikael was born and they aren't focussing on him at the moment, believe he has "gone for a wander".

Certainly at that age one of my cousins was adept with locks and using items to reach them...

I don't understand: 'Possibly wearing a beige outdoor jacket'?

Hasn't whoever was caring for him been able to check if his jacket is missing from the home or not?

The home is within walking distance of water. :(

I am surprised police haven't appealed for people to ensure all cctv footage in the locality is saved and checked.

Sky have had a former police officer on - our media does like to dissect stuff, so good luck if LE were trying to be cautious for a reason - who observed it was interesting that there were not as many police flooding the area door-to-door as he might expect. Of course, there may be as he's a studio and I don't know how much he can see.

A sort-of summary of what they were discussing - the possibility of something "domestic" going on in the background. Police presence lessening slightly around the home as they are moving out in concentric circles around the house. Neighbour who observed that children weren't allowed "outside" to play much, mainly seen playing on the stairs.

As Scotspaddy has said, the impression is that the father (and perhaps members of his family) have not yet been spoken to. Hope they're checking airports etc.

RSBM

I always assume they say "possibly" to stop people focusing too much on clothing, which can after all be easily removed/changed. The LE in charge is saying they know the coat and shoes are missing.

The problem with the wandering off scenario is that Mikaeel left the home after 9pm. Early enough for people to be about, but late enough that I'd hope to heaven that people would have questioned a three year old being out alone, and helped him.

I hope nothing bad has happened to this little one, but I can't think where he could safely be....

That article has a neighbour saying she can't imagine how a little boy could open the heavy apartment block doors on his own. If they are like the ones pictured with police, I can't see a child opening them either.

Neighbour also says he 'wouldn't cross the road without her' (mum). But children are often far from predictable, especially at that age.

Hi everyone - first off, sorry if I'm repeating what's already been said, I don't have time to read the thread yet, but I will later on!!

So just a quick thought -

a neighbour said she'd seen him playing in the stairwell often, of the flats where he lived, could he have got out of his flat and then not been able to get out of the main door of the complex, and someone within the block took him? that's the only option I can see if he left by his own volition, very unlikely... I can't see him choosing to go out in to the cold and dark. Makes no sense.

Also I read on daily mirror live updates, that dad was not there that night or morning, yet dad does apparently live with the family so where was he?

I would want to know how many bedrooms there are in the flat, because you'd think his siblings might notice him getting up if they were in the same room.

Where is his coat and shoes normally kept also?

i agree zwiebel, i live in a ground floor flat and my neighbours daughter who is 4yrs old cant open our block door, pushing or pulling.

The more I hear the more it sounds like a family abduction. Especially since it seems Police aren't searching in the area as much as they were this morning (according to a question from the press conference).

I really hope the flat has been thoroughly searched - suitcases and drawers and daft places like that. My friend's daughter locked her little brother in a suitcase once and he didn't make a sound when people were searching for him.

The communal trash containers should be turned out too - he might have got inside somehow. And any attic space. Anything is possible.

Yeah that's true, my daughter always struggled to open my Aunts close door. I wonder if its a magnetic door were you have to press a button to release? If so I don't know if a 3year old could reach the button?

I am hoping this is the case because it seems the best scenario. When I heard Mikaeel is a twin I thought it would be crazy for a family member to take just one, but I wonder if the fact he is a boy could figure in? I winder if he is the only boy in the family?

I really hope this little one is safe and well and that he is found soon :( Sky news say that father was not at the property last night and there are rumours on facebook of a custody case. Police say no evidence of criminality so they obviously have contacted the father, question is, how on earth would someone get into and out of the property without being seen or heard.

I hope LE manage to get hold of cctv in the surrounding area before it gets wiped.

I don't know if this is the actual block, but all the blocks in the street look of similar age and construction, with similar doors.

It seems unlikely a small child would have the strength to pull it open, even if he could reach, I think.

Hi everyone, this is my first post so sorry if I repeat what others have said.
This is really scary, you put your children to bed on a night and wouldn't expect them to go missing in the night!
The home doesn't look very big, I wonder how many bedrooms there are, if he was sharing it will be interesting to know what his siblings saw or heard.
Praying he is found safe and soon x

They seem like fairly new properties, so I wonder if they have a switch inside to operate the door automatically, the switches are usually quite low down too because of requirements for people in wheelchairs.
