The flowers and tributes..Teddy bears, soft toys have been moved to just round the corner from the family home....next to wee standing stones....
I think there was a lot and maybe overspilling onto the street.....

Such a sad day....

If I had to guess I would say they may have been removed and taken to the church for the service at 7pm. The weather is not very nice, they will be getting wet.

That would be my thought as well. Wet weather and there were some lovely tributes and toys, better to have them at the church where everyone can see them in the dry.

Ah right - I see there is an update on this from Deep

BBC Radio just broadcast this, but it seems to be out of date already.

BBC radio report at the scene just confirmed she saw an ambulance leave earlier and she believes it contained Mikaeel's body.

Forensic team still have heavy presence at the house.

Neighours says Rosdeep and the children lived there for years, before moving out about 18 months ago.

She believes Rosdeep was arrested between 11pm and Midnight yesterday so police must charge or release her by 11pm tonight.

I think the service is at St Andrew's in Muirhouse at 7pm?

Does anyone know - are parents (who had problems) sometimes allowed to retain custody of their children only on condition they live with a responsible family member for a certain period of time? Or would that never happen?

im suprised no ones been charged yet since only one person has been detained and theyve found a body ,not even an arrest..

looks like someone said "hes in the woods behind the house" because a few hr prior to finding the body i believe there was suddenly lots of activity going on in the woods behind the mums house..then switched to the aunties house

Perhaps that is why she lived with her sister from when the twins were born - so that she could have some support and be able to keep the children ?

Also, most articles I have read are saying that she had only lived in the Edinburgh flat for 18 months ( although I was sure a neighbour had been reported as saying the family had been there for several years ).

So, if she stayed with her sister for the first 2 years of the twins life, then I wonder if they were taken into care when she moved out on her own to Edinburgh.
Perhaps she was assessed and it was felt that she couldn't cope with five children on her own ?

BIB - I would think the police will want to use the maximum time allowed to question her and obtain as much information as possible...... because, if I understand it rightly, once a charge is made, then no more questions will be allowed.

Sky are reporting that the body is being left in situ to allow forensics and scenes of crimes officers to carry out investigation. Investigations at the home address in Edinburgh have been ceased.
From whats being reported they are implying that the police believe that this wasn't just a disposal site. So sad

I have been following Sky and BBC reports but have not picked up on the implication that it was' not just a disposal site'.

I wonder if i have missed something and you could give more information.

me too.. been watching several times.. repeating same reports but never heard that conclusion

At least his body has been found quickly, and not forever lost like dear Madeleine or reduced to a skeleton like sweet Caylee. His body will tell a story of what happened and the truth will be known in this case, I think. Just something positive to come out of all the bad news I guess.

Tia Sharp's body lay in a loft for a week. It was so badly decomposed they couldn't identify a cause of death. There's no evidence to say this poor baby died more recently than Dec 19th (I don't imagine it was that long ago but presumably a while before he was reported missing)...

Agreed - they will be hoping for the autopsy to be completed this evening I should think, so they can bring that into questioning.

It's winter in this case though, remember Tia was in an insulated loft in the summer...

So if she has not been charged with anything yet does that usually mean that she's not co-operating. I initially assumed that she had told the police where to find Mikaeel but maybe this is not the case if she is not admitting anything. Unless she is claiming his death was accidental or not her fault or unless of course someone else gave away the location. I find it hard to believe that the police have stumbled across this area behind the house as part of the investigation. Surely if she had confessed they would have formally charged her by now.

ETA I just thought that maybe dogs were used and picked up the scent at the old house.

I was thinking she could have been staying in the sisters house now, when she had to leave the apartment and the police was investigating her apartment..

Maybe that is why the police got interested in this house?

Maybe when the Police brought in specialist dogs to Mikaeels home, including cadaver...the dogs could have had a hit then....I would imagine if he passed away in the house they could tell....

A witness in Kirkcaldy , a neighbour across the road , saw RK at her Sisters house on either Tuesday or Earlr Wednesday.....Possibly the police had taken this statement from neighbours in the area of any immediate families homes, early on , as part of their enquiries ....so knowing she had been there led them to search the back gardens and woods with cadaver or scent dogs?

I feel like I am living in an alternative universe because BBC Radio 4 have just repeated again that police will have to charge or release Rosdeep by 11pm tonight. Implication being, an extension has not been granted yet?

Also said police sent whole day questioning mother

Talked of the hundreds of people continuing to visit Ferry Gait with tributes

Interviewed some local people. They are truly heartbroken. This has hit Edinburgh so hard.

'Devastating, Heartbreaking, You don't expect this to happen on your own doorstep' were some comments.

I suppose something must have prompted her to report him missing before she had properly hidden him, she must have realised that he would eventually be found there. It just doesn't make sense to dispose of a body somewhere that you have a long history with and where family still live. It would make more sense to dispose of a body properly before reporting them missing.

I am sorry if this type of talk is too soon for some, I hate that we have to think about these things in relation to Mikaeel, but can't understand why they haven't charged her yet or why she hasn't confessed when there is so much evidence on her already.
