Nine months ago to the day, the 12 members of the jury first started hearing evidence in the Lucy Letby trial.
Today is expected to see the conclusion to the judge's summing up of the case, after which the jury will retire to consider verdicts on the 22 charges - seven of murder, 15 of attempted murder.

The court did not sit last Friday; our most recent live coverage of the trial was from the judge's fourth day of summing up: Recap: Lucy Letby trial, July 6 - judge's summing up

Just while we wait - I wonder if LL being a blonde made any difference to anything, eg a reluctance to suspect her at first. The old tradition of sweet innocent blondes, versus evil brunettes still lingers in the background. (however, as a brunette I can console myself with being in the intelligent half of the population :))

I really doubt that.

I don’t think her hair colour necessarily influenced things, I think she was viewed as a “safe pair of hands”, i.e. reliable, works hard. Looking to progress in her career. She would have been perceived by those who worked with her as being there for the right reasons. JMO.

I think more likely that it was because she was an attractive, young, sweet looking female. Not so important that she was blonde, imo.

Yes, unfortunately looks play a big part to many people as to whether they think someone is guilty or not. If she had been an unattractive, unfriendly looking woman I doubt as many would have rushed to defend her.

Say she got a new id if ng obviously, what about her parents. I'd definitely recognise them. Would they have to get a new id i wonder?
I don’t think so. Never been a confirmed threat to themselves, they would probably move to a different part of the country but that’s it. Only problem they have is everyone knows where they live and thus who they are. Lucy letby wouldn’t be able to work in hc anymore, her face is too well known at this point.

34 parents
12 jurors
Five years of police investigation to bring this to trial; police teams and all the expert witnesses
Nine months of intense trial
The accused's parents
The accused's former colleagues
The judge, and court staff
The advocates and their legal teams
The journalists
The accused

I can't begin to imagine the anxieties.

Last week, the judge's summing up referred to the cases, chronologically, from Child A to Child P. He told the jury last Thursday afternoon he intends to complete his summing up with the case of Child Q this morning.
