The thing is they hammer home the need for transparency in our courts but yet here we are again. If it was jury illness then surely they would of said that as they have before.
To me now with the reporting restrictions there has to be an “issue” with the jury that is not illness. I can’t see anything else.

Is mechanically challenged more acceptable?I'm probably showing my age here but as the upper age limit for jurors is 75, I can't see them as being necessarily frail even if they are retired!
EDITED as I had forgotten it's been raised from 70 to 75...but I still baulk at the word 'frail'!
More recently there were suggestions that that had happened in the Emile Cilliers case:Perhaps there has been some form of inappropriate behaviour from juror to juror or otherwise that needs some investigation? It's been 9 months and with 12 folks unknown to each other there may have been tensions in some regard. This article is from 2012 but includes incidents of bullying and inappropriate behavour Counsel Magazine
I'm not so convinced. They have a lot of charges to wade through to establish whether the evidence points to a guilty finding. Plus, they all have to agree. Is it even possible to get through more than a couple each day? If these were singular murder charges, a half day of deliberations would seem very fast.
I’m not going to win so I’m not gonna play. NurnurnurQuiz Part 1 - Answer sheet will be posted on Sunday night
