Just to make it known that this is NOT me playing silly buggers!rolls eyes! View attachment 441749
The jury returned a verdict of guilty on two charges (10-1 majority) and one verdict of not guilty relating to baby G, which I assume is the child you are asking about. She was the little girl left with quadraplegic cerebral palsy, amongst other complex health issues/disabilities after her time at Countess of Chester.I had a feeling they might announce the verdicts this morning. But I hung out with my little grand daughter all day and was EXHAUSTED so I took a nap at midnight and set my alarm for 3 am----hoping to hear an update.
I slept through the whole thing and logged into WS about 9 am , California time, shocked to see the ' 7 Guilty of Murder' headline on the thread. My husband almost dropped his coffee when he heard me scream " Oh My God!!!"
I am greatly relieved. I always felt the Murder charges were the most important ones.
I have to check on the AT's----one of the babies was left paralysed and greatly compromised but I don't remember which one. Was that one verdict resolved or not?
They never learn from these things.
It didn't say that. It said she had a difficult birth.Just finished the BBC Panorama episode. Wow. So, she was a premature baby herself?
Very interesting hearing from her childhood friend, who says all her friends have stood by her and she won’t believe she’s guilty unless Letby confesses.
This terrifies me. I was honestly expecting to hear that she had some very strange behaviours. The fact that friends still describe her as the most kind and gentle person they’ve ever known. It just hammers home that we can never truly know anyone, no matter how much we think we know them.
Deleted By MeWhat does this mean?
Ah ok, my mistake. Thanks. It didn't say that. It said she had a difficult birth.
Do you mean the Panorama documentary? It should be available online in BBC Sounds very soon.I wish I could watch it here in the states. Haven't been able to find it yet.
What is the exact title?
BBC I-Player.Do you mean the Panorama documentary? It should be available online in BBC Sounds very soon.
You're right, her friend said LL was grateful for the care she received after her birth (can't remember exactly what the circumstances were).Ah ok, my mistake. Thanks.
Still, I know some people questioned whether she herself had been a vulnerable baby.
I think one thing this case has brought home is just how vulnerable ALL babies are. And the difference it makes when they get the care they should in hospital, and when they don't.Ah ok, my mistake. Thanks.
Still, I know some people questioned whether she herself had been a vulnerable baby.
Just GREAT.Nurse Lucy Letby found guilty of murdering seven babies on neonatal unit
The 33-year-old has been convicted of murdering babies while working at the Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 and June 2016.news.sky.com
Very strange that they would go to such lengths in forcing an apology and push back against the concerns raised by consultants.Just watched aghast during BBC News at One where it reveals, at one point, the consultants had to sign a "letter of apology" to Letby. This was before police were called, but the consultants were raising concerns.
Heads are going to roll...
I have my suspicions but cant say publicly as I'll get banned!Very strange that they would go to such lengths in forcing an apology and push back against the concerns raised by consultants.
Yes absolutely, usually there are victim family impact statements. They'll need a lot of time for them no doubt. Will the Jury attend the sentencing?
Will the parents get opportunity in Court before sentencing to have victims' testimony
(as in American courts)?
PS
I would love to hug each Juror hahaha
Well done!!!!!
Im still in shock
There was a newspaper article circulating here (I think) a while back, a “happy birthday” notice for LL (I think it may have been her 21st?) to LL which looked like it was from her brothers (or half brothers?) I thought she had older siblings/her dads side from previous relationship. Can anyone recall that article? They weren't "older" parents. You might say her dad was butninthink her mother was about 30 when she was born.
