These are interesting.

I noticed in one of the articles recently post, ll seemed to just wrote Karen Rees name multiple times. Anyone else notice this or maybe I’m dreaming, lol. Anyway, it was really strange, IMO.

Found the article and I can only find KR’s name ~ 5 times, but one of the times it looks like the word “love” was written over it? This has probably already been discussed! IMO.

I am starting to suspect that Lucy was not the only borderline in that hospital.

These are interesting.

Some very interesting info in that top link, thanks. Haven't read the 2nd link yet.

Phase 1 of LE investigation:
Initially, in 2017, LE give experts batches of 33 cases
In 2018 once LL's arrested & her face in media - more parents contact LE and LE later give the experts another 58 cases to review
So Dr Evans ( and presumably the other woman expert - Bohin? ) had a batch of 91 suspicious cases, of which charges were brought for 17 babies.
Naturally, until trial, Dr E had never seen the totality of the Pros case against LL, so he's been prompted recently to look through his material again. ' I will be going back over all my 91 cases..' He also stresses his opinion on corporate manslaughter again. And he already thinks he's found another attack in his batch of 91.
and
'This woman didn't turn up one day and start giving babies intravenous air,' Dr Evans said. 'Letby must have done something before then (June 2015).

Phase 2
As well as the review of 4000 admissions to the 2 hospitals 2012-15, already....'Sources close to the inquiry have said at least 30 babies who suffered suspicious collapses and lived have already been identified by detectives'
Sources have told the Mail that, while a couple of babies who died might be included in any future inquiry, the majority of cases involve children who survived'

TBH, I would have thought LE had already done this ( but maybe he's heavy hinting that he'd like to look at them asap)
'Dr Evans also urged police to look at the 247 handover notes that were found at Letby's home, and that of her parents, following her arrest in July 2018. 'I don't think she took them home for posterity,' he said'

Based on the numbers, she wouldn't have been, but most people with BPD don't hurt others and are just trying to manage their condition as best they can. But we don't even know Letby has BPD. We know she has a diagnosis of PTSD, and that's it.

Not commenting on whether she faked the prick or her reaction, just giving a bit of insight from my own experience.

I can handle a certain amount of pain in other parts of my body, but if I prick or cut my fingertips or hands, I will faint the majority of the time. I also have a high incidence of fainting at blood draws. Once I fainted before they even got the needle in me. It's completely involuntary, and can be, to some degree, genetic. My brother has an equally high tendency to faint. He's fainted with a painful toe-stub before.

It’s a perfectly viable defence mechanism. For goats.

Dr evans is the last person who should be commenting on the behaviour of criminals. It’s not his expertise. Leave that to the police.

The British government said the move would see those convicted die in prison and protect the public from the most-dangerous offenders.

For the first time, the orders will also be the default sentence for any sexually motivated murders.
The usual knee-jerk reaction from politicians.
If its considered so important, why hasn't the government done something about it before. They have been in power for 13 years

deflection from tackling the real problems* ( & electioneering from a Govt who - according to all polls - know they won't be re-elected in order to implement this)

* telegraph article I posted a page or so back, gives an overview of how deep-rooted and structural the problems are, across Trusts. Despite inquiries and reviews of multiple hospitals's scandals every couple of years, governments haven't made it mandatory that Inquiry recommendations were implemented.

do you mean this?

Possibly yes, but impicit in Chesh police's 2nd phase that they also think the same.

I don’t know. He can look at the med files but his expertise in criminality is to be ignored. You got the article or quote about the second phase?

The photos of her socialising never looked right to me. I always thought there was something fake about all the silly faces she was pulling* and the smiles too wide but not in her eyes. But back then before the trial began I also thought, maybe she's being scapegoated because she's the weird one who doesn't get social cues. I've long thought she was probably neurodivergent or had a personality disorder, I just don't think that explains what she did or excuses it. The vast majority of ND people and people with personality disorders aren't serial killers, its no excuse and obviously she's never claimed to have such. So its JMO.

*yes obviously when people do funny faces for a photo they're 'fake' but there was something off about them, to me. Like a typical person enjoys being silly sometimes and the funny faces come from a place of genuine enjoyment whereas hers felt like she was having to act at having fun because it was what was expected in that setting.
100% agree.
Trying tooooo hard to appear normal and cool.

But, going overboard, as usual.
I noticed it immediately.
So fake o_O

Anyone think that she might give any tv interviews in the future? Say if she was offered the chance by the media would she do it?

the statements on next phase of investigation has been across a lot of news media last week

citation of range of news sources including at the wikipedia entry section titled; '

Post-conviction developments

Further investigations'

I can't see much point. She'd either be continuing to protest her innocence or describing how she felt driven to kill defenceless babies. Either way, it would be extremely upsetting for the families of the victims. Personally, I'd say don't give her the attention.

As many of you, I think there were numerous reasons for why she did what she did, but I was originally thinking one reason was to make the parents suffer - in their love for their babies, she saw her own parents' suffocating love, and sought to punish them vicariously.

However, I then wondered if rather than LL seeing her parents in the babies' parents, she saw herself in the babies. She saw herself in their vulnerability and dependence and hated in them what she hates in herself.

So killed them.

What Dr E. said is so true.
well LE seem to be operating on the same basis.
IDK if evidence was ever found on whether Allitt had prior victims - prior to the first convicted death

at a tangent....
I do recall from one of the BA documentaries which have been linked to on WS, that diligent clinicians at her hospital found suspicious needle puncture marks under the armpit of a child. ( At least one of the victims. Further tests later confirmed an air embolus. BA was also later injecting under her own breast when she was trying to get out of Holloway prison to Rampton. )

Anyway, it strikes me that this could hint at another reason why LL might have fainted around the needle prick incident. Could she have worried that she'd mistakenly injected herself with an air embolus? ( That she had a pre loaded syringe)

eta
both ' killer nurses' Allitt & Colin Norris were apparently secreting pre-loaded syringes in their uniform pockets, the latter even caught with one on his way into work in the morning
