Thanks for that bh. Are they being held in the same place? Do you think they get the chance to speak to each other on the journey to the court and back?

Just wondering and thinking how horrible it must be (no sympathy at all though, worse the better).

Anyone think that SH might change her plea during the trial?

I was hoping so but I don't now. The person reporting from 'UK Crimes against Children' said that her charges are going to be treated slightly different to NM's. Something has been 'put in' that will come out further down the line they said such as Mitigating Factors etc.
I THINK she is going to say she was scared of going against him or some tosh. Had she spoken out at the start I may have had some sympathy but now I have none. MOO
Interestingly, it has also been mentioned in UK Crimes that NM is angry at her in his demeanor!

I believe that she has been groomed. By now the police would have offered her a sweet deal if she told all, and she has not helped them at all and I think that is why they have thrown the book at her and charged her with everything possible.
Somewhere in her delusional mind she must think that they will get off on some technicality. I reckon the prosecution have some more shockers to come. I think we will see her break. She must be super hormonal, crikey what a year she has had. She will burst soon.

Just considering your 'hormonal' comment re SH. Indeed, she has also lost contact (I assume) from her 2/3year old Daughter. And what I find really sad is the fact that she put NM above her. If I knew unless I 'made good' I would never see my child again I would fight tooth and nail to turn it around. I believe most Mothers would. Again, looking into her background it doesn't look as though their Daughter has ever been a priority too them! MOO

As unpleasant as NM may be, even if things they've done together were his initial idea, if she has poured proverbial petrol on those plans then I hold her equally to account.

If SH has been happily going along with things and is now saying 'please sir I know it may seem like I was having fun but really I hated every second and I only did it cause Nathan told me to'

... then I can understand him being annoyed with her. He's done his bit to protect her so if there's something he sees as a betrayal coming up then poop's hitting the fan ...

I don't know I think she is so calm and sure that NM will keep insisting that she's blameless that I think she genuinely feels that she can't be tied to it.

I'm more interested in why NM is willing to take the fall...

Maybe just in the hope SH will keep their child or then she'll be able to visit him once a month, he is going down for a very long time either way I should think!!

Reading up about murder/manslaughter charges etc. (it's raining here!) I came across this article I'd forgotten about :

I found the last sentence very informative. "Specialist forensic investigations" then she gets charged with murder too 4 months or so later.
I think they have some very damning evidence against this couple still to come. imo.

Police investigating the death of schoolgirl Becky Watts have now charged her step-brother's girlfriend with murder.
The 16-year-old's body was discovered 11 days after she was reported missing from her home in St George, Bristol, in February this year.
Her brother, Nathan Matthews and his girlfriend Shauna Hoare, were originally arrested and charged in February this year.
Matthews, 28, was charged with a single count of murder on Wednesday March 4 while Hoare, 21, was accused of perverting the court of justice.
But Avon and Somerset Police confirmed on Monday that Hoare has now been charged with the murder of Becky Watts, jointly with Matthews.
He has also been additionally charged with perverting the course of justice, following the pair's arrest on Saturday February 28.
Nathan Matthews and Shauna Phillips
The couple will face charges of conspiracy to commit false imprisonment, preventing Becky's lawful burial and possession of a prohibited weapon.
They have also been charged with four counts of making indecent images of children, though this does not relate to Becky Watts.
Matthews will additionally be forced to answer a single charge of sexual assault and voyeurism, again not in relation to Becky.
Jaydene Parsons, 23, James Ireland, 23, and Karl and Donovan Demetrius, both 29, were all originally charged with assisting an offender.
Their charges, made after the group were arrested on Monday March 2, will not change.
The fresh charges have been added following specialist forensic examinations to help establish the full circumstances surrounding Becky's death.

I agree. I think she isn't smart enough to realise that her innocent pleas will not be believed. She clearly has faith in him.

As to why he is taking all the blame.... I did find it strange initially - remembering how he had asked for the screen to be moved in pre trial hearings so that he couldn't see SH, which seems to indicate a falling out
But now I think he knows he needs a friend on the outside to provide for him while he is serving his time...and , apart from SH , who else is there.
I seriously doubt he is doing it because he wants SH to be able to bring up their child ... I don't believe that thought would cross his mind, it's all about him.

Most interesting. I had forgotten, or perhaps had never seen, the exact wording of the murder charge against SH. This definitely sounds as though they have some good forensics to link her to the murder.....and if so, even more surprising that she is going for not guilty on all charges. Her barrister is no slouch and surely would have told her all the evidence against her. I wait to be surprised, but at the moment SH seems very dim to me to maintain this totally innocent line.

On the topic of NM taking the rap for SH, does anyone have any idea why he would have asked for SH to be removed from his screen at the remand hearing? They all appeared via videolink from their separate prisons and I'm guessing they could all see each other. His request was denied by the way.

I know it would only be conjecture, but I'm thinking he either felt betrayed by her and was therefore angry or he felt guilty or something by seeing her, but it was an odd request.

Yes I was wondering why he turned his back on SH in court a few months ago.

Also the judge must take into account the predatory minds of these two surely. If it hadn't been Becky it would most likely have been another young girl eventually. Their texts clearly show that (and the stun guns). IMO

Yes thanks I've followed them from the beginning I meant where do they specifically mention what the OP commented on I. E mitigating circumstances etc I've not seen mention of that despite relooking through the comments

When Becky was found there was clothes found were they all hers? I can't remember was just wondering what SH was wearing that day of the murder if there was any evidence on them and maybe they were stashed with Beckys remains:thinking:

I've been following the case on here and in the press. I noticed something that was reported that has been brushed off by shaunas defence as her "trivially texting" but I'm wondering if it could have more serious implications.

Mr Langdon said it is Hoare’s case that she thought Matthews was helping a friend when he was buying the saw, not “something much more macabre - dismembering a body” at the time.
At 2.18pm on that day, Hoare texted Matthews: “just to let you know the memory cards came and PS4 stickers xoxo”.

Yes bear in mind the charges of 'MAKING Indecent Images of Children".......I am scared of what else has gone on!!
