Re. Duvet cover - I have seen two MSM state "inside" (Manchester Evening News and Telegraph) and one state "within" (Mirror) so I think she was inside the cover.

on the previous page I posted the quote by the prosecuting QC.

He could have said "wrapped up in a duvet" - instead he's said in court " wrapped up within...."

Perhaps the summer house was an excuse for him to go to SE house without his wife becoming suspicious. Maybe when he started building it him and SE were still on good terms and she’s ended it or they’ve had a falling out so he stopped working on it. His anger may have built up over those two weeks and he’s gone to her house and snapped.

mellow, when I looked at her house ( posted the link upthread) with it's spaciousness & it's large garden, garage & shed there already , I couldn't help thinking was the building of a summerhouse all his idea in the first place? Not hers.

Yes cottonweaver, even if they weren’t having an affair , he could have been stalking her and it was the perfect excuse for him to go there.

I think any type of person from any walk of life is capable of having an affair. People make mistakes and by the sounds of things if SE called it off she more than likely regretted it. What I will say is though for MS to carry out this horrible crime, conceal the body, go out the following day with people who where genuinely concerned to conduct enquiries ( more than likely to see if he was seen) and then allow the family to suffer for over a week - This shows me he is a selfish person who was only interested in saving himself.

agree to all but can I just add, cause it's cropped up before, on the Saturday sighting of MS

All I've ever seen so far on that is " a man resembling MS" was seen with JP door-knocking on the Saturday. So we don't 100% know yet even tho it's probably true.
(If it is true , and it probably is, it's damning of his character but am only nit-picking for sake of the thread, what if neighbour/witness has that wrong & mistaken him for someone else?)

Unless anyone has seen a firmer account of it in another newspaper /from a local eg. more than one neighbour witnessing MS door-knocking or more definitive ?

Unless she was planning on housing a hot tub in there??

It's difficult not to speculate about the relationship between SE and MS, as that is no doubt the crux of the whole tragic event. It could have been a brief fling, with him wanting something more. It could have been a brief fling with her wanting more. It could have been more complicated, with both of them deeply involved, but a clash of personalities. Maybe we'll find out at some point...

yes just my imagination but in it I can see him saying - "hey what you could really do with in this garden is a summer-house, can even do it for you on a costs basis....."

A way to get access to someone / be needed/ even impress them? ( sadly looking at the shed roof.... no comment) as well as having a reasonable excuse to go round there.

Or it could all have been a figment of MS's imagination.

IDK if u saw that press report ( was it DMail?) it said that the police had spent most of the time inside that summerhouse.

Did the journalist find that relevant to point out or was it just the case that the summerhouse is the only space that a journalist can easily rubber-neck. ( That the cops actually spent just as much time searching inside the house.)
MS would have to be very daft to do anything in that summerhouse - has no windows and doors to contain sound.

Yes and even if he had used it for temporary storage, that would involve going away and coming back to retrieve, which would be risky. Surely more likely to remove immediately in his van. Perhaps the press were hinting at the MS connection.

Maybe he deliberately put a dodgy roof on it and left it unfinished ( no apparent windows and door ) just as an excuse to return?

Yes. As others have said "within" is open to interpretation and doesn't necessarily mean actually inside the cover itself, so I looked at how some reporters had described it too. Did he say a duvet or duvet cover in court, 'cos you can't get inside a duvet that easily.

(I see Cherwell has responded to say the prosecutor said duvet cover )

Bumping your links below.

Jonas Hankin QC telling the court the young woman had been murdered between July 26 and August 5.

He added: “Eastwood was found in a shallow grave with masking tape covering her face and eyes and wrapped within a single duvet cover.

I've found your links CW and am bumping.

telegraph states

The court heard that Miss Eastwood had been found in a shallow grave, with masking tape around her face and eyes, and had been wrapped inside a single duvet cover.

shows how one statement can be perceived so differently!

Why do posters think tape around her face and eyes would not include her mouth, especially considering the possibility she died of suffocation?

For me it's how the tape around the eyes is specifically mentioned. Would mouth not be mentioned too?! I don't know I've said before it could be possible that suffocation is the cause and the tape was removed from mouth area to check if she was breathing.
