Salisbury a bit of a ghost town since the incident: https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/ukne...ntinues/ar-BBKkkem?li=AAmiR2Z&ocid=spartanntp

Not entirely surprising - my parents live near and we decided not to go in when I was visiting last weekend.
Hope your parents are fine, but wondering about the effects any of this might have on pregnant women and small children living in the area?
imo, speculation.

I have hesitated about posting as this is not officially linked to the Skripals and secondly, at present it is not classified as a crime - but I thought it may be of interest.

I am very local to the house of Nikolai Glushkov - the potential crime scene is still very much intact some 72 hrs after he was found. As well as his house there are two houses either side which are cordoned off and an alleyway through which you would have access to the back garden. I am not sure how long crime scenes remain cordoned off, but activity there has not really subsided at all.

It could well be that his death is due to natural causes, even if that is the case its been fascinating watching such a high profile potential crime scene close up.

Looks like this was a homicide, not natural causes. Glushkov apparently died due to compression of the neck.

The police officer who was hospitalized after rushing to help a former Russian spy and his daughter suffering from a poison attack in Salisbury, England, was discharged Thursday.

In a statement released by police, Detective Sergeant Nick Bailey said he needs more time to regroup and recover but that normal life "will never be the same."
The Telegraph reported a second police officer was hospitalized Thursday after investigating the nerve agent. The paper says he is being treated as an outpatient for minor symptoms, including skin irritation. Authorities believe he came into contact with an object that could have had secondary contamination from the nerve agent used in the attack on the Skirpals.
Earlier Thursday a British judge in the Court of Protection ruled that doctors could draw blood samples from the Skirpals for expert testing.

The father and daughter remain in critical condition under heavy sedation, and, according to the judge, lack the mental capacity to give their consent. He also agreed with experts from the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, hoping to analyze the blood, who argued "that samples taken from living individuals are of more scientific value than post mortem samples."

Door handles and computer keyboards are among the items at the home of Sergei Skripal that are being examined by investigators as they work to establish where and how the nerve agent attack on the Russian former spy took place.
Counter-terrorism officials have given no details of how the Skripals may have come into contact with the nerve agent, which has been identified as a novichok.

There was speculation it could have been placed on the door handles of Skripal’s BMW or in the car’s ventilation system. Another suggestion is that Yulia Skripal, who arrived in the UK on a flight from Russia the day before she and her father collapsed, may have brought it into the country.

Canada has joined the U.S. and several European countries in expelling several Russian diplomats following a nerve-agent attack in the United Kingdom last week that left a former Russian spy and his daughter in critical condition. Four Russian diplomats will be told to leave and three others will not be given permission to start working in Canada, Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland said in a statement Monday.

“The nerve agent attack in Salisbury, on the soil of Canada’s close partner and ally, is a despicable, heinous and reckless act, potentially endangering the lives of hundreds,” she said.

“The nerve-agent attack represents a clear threat to the rules-based international order and to the rules that were established by the international community to ensure chemical weapons would never again destroy human lives.”

Now police say the two were likely poisoned at their front door. Which means it wasn't instantaneous, as they had to have come in contact with it prior to going out to the restaurant. Also presumably means his daughter didn't unwittingly bring it with her. So, looks like somebody placed it on their front door.

"The Russian ex-spy and his daughter left critically ill in a nerve agent attack three weeks ago were probably poisoned at the front door of their home in southwestern England, British police said Wednesday."

The condition of Yulia Skripal, who was poisoned with a nerve agent in Salisbury along with her father, is improving rapidly, doctors have said.

Salisbury NHS foundation trust said on Thursday the 33-year-old was no longer in a critical condition, describing her medical state as stable.

Christine Blanshard, medical director for Salisbury district hospital, said: “I’m pleased to be able to report an improvement in the condition of Yulia Skripal. She has responded well to treatment but continues to receive expert clinical care 24 hours a day.

Around 250 counter-terrorism detectives will continue to work around the clock on the investigation into the March 4 attack with a crack team of experts, police, and other partners to help them trawl through more than 5,000 hours of CCTV and examine over 1,350 exhibits that have been seized. Police will continue to sift through around 500 witnesses who have been identified so far, and the hundreds of statements taken in the investigation.

The UK government has pointed the finger at Russia over the attack on the Skripals. Moscow has repeatedly denied responsibility and issued a statement on Wednesday, claiming that the British authorities are “not interested in identifying the true perpetrators and motives of the crime,” which it has called a “massive political provocation.”

There has been no update on Sergei Skripal’s condition, but according to recent court documents, it is understood that he is unresponsive.

[h=1]U.K. ‘considering’ Russia’s request to visit ex-spy’s daughter recovering from poison attack[/h]Russian officials have insisted they have a legal right to see Yulia Skripal, 33, who is recovering in hospital from the poison attack.
The embassy said British Border Forces and Customs officers searched an Aeroflot flight from Moscow on Friday in violation of international rules. In a tweet, the embassy called the search “another blatant provocation by the British authorities.”

British officials responded Saturday that it is routine to search some incoming flights.

Russia has sent a diplomatic note demanding an explanation of the search.

Putin himself said that those traitors to Russia like Skripal would come to a bad end- drugs or something. He doesn’t admit it’s he who is having people dose them, but he’s implied threats constantly- then mocks others because they can’t prove it to “his satisfaction”.
I think he’ll move on to killing people in the USA and Trump will continue having no response at all.

What's the evidence that Russia is actually responsible? Supposedly the nerve agent is deadly, yet we are now told poison was put on their front door. Which means that after coming in contact with the poison, they were out, walking, went to a restaurant, ate there, left the restaurant, and only then collapsed.
That doesn't seem to fit with claims that it should have made they very sick or kill them within minutes.

Supposedly the USA is just letting them swap in 60 new agents to replace the old ones. Theyve been getting really aggressive, it’s scary.

I would not call it aggressive by Russian standards. So far its just barking.

There is no evidence. None so far. I personally like many others do think Russia might be responsible but it is completely different level for diplomat or UK publicly stating this and pointing fingers already on the 2nd day after this incident.

Also suspending Russian diplomats around the world based on still no proven evidence is a bit premature. Once evidence is gathered and proper investigation done then it is whole different ball game. I don't believe this was all done by 2nd day when they already publicly stated that Russia is responsible.

Russian have killed in USA for decades it has been just lost between so many other deaths or swept under carpet.

To your other comment about Trump not responding, he suprisingly did and I think he expelled some diplomats too and supporting what Canada and UK is doing. (by the way I can't believe I am defending Trump).

I agree. UK provided no evidence other than claiming poison was consistent with that supposedly produced by Russia. That doesn't mean that only Russia could have produced it, does it? Also it seems to be rather slow acting for a supposedly deadly nerve agent, and now we are being told that one of the victims is recovering rapidly. And here is daily mail latest story (of course daily mail isn't all that reliable), but if it's true that police are questioning this woman-why would they think poison could have been in the cereal when they already told us it was on front door?

"Police have questioned a woman who brought over a £1 bag of Sergei Skripal's favourite cereal from Russia after being asked by his daughter Yulia."

[h=1]Russian spy poisoning: Yulia Skripal 'getting stronger daily'[/h]
[h=2]'Respect my privacy'[/h]In the statement released by the police, Ms Skripal said she was grateful for the many messages of goodwill she had received.

"I woke up over a week ago now and am glad to say my strength is growing daily," the statement said.

"I have many people to thank for my recovery and would especially like to mention the people of Salisbury that came to my aid when my father and I were incapacitated," it went on.

"I am sure you appreciate that the entire episode is somewhat disorientating, and I hope that you'll respect my privacy and that of my family during the period of my convalescence."
