From the express article linked above:
Ms Blake's sister, Ava, believes that Sian was about to leave her controlling partner at the time of her disappearance.

She said that their relationship had come to an end and he was so controlling that he would monitor her sister's phonecalls.

Also, it says that the photo of him was taken at a passport control point and that 'significant attempts' were made to conceal the bodies.

EastEnders' Sian Blake and her children confirmed dead
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-35256774

"A police spokesperson said they had died from "head and neck injuries".
Ms Blake's partner is being sought by police over the deaths... Police said a missing persons' investigation had been launched on 16 December after officers attended the family's home in Erith.
This was undertaken following information from the children's charity, the NSPCC, over concerns about Ms Blake's health, police said.
Forensic specialists were called in to search the family home on 4 January. The bodies were found during excavations in the garden two days later.
Significant attempts had been made to conceal the bodies, police said."

I've been meaning to come look for this on WS all week but It's been a crappy week, ugh. How awful

RIP :rose:

Oh man, RIP Sian, Zachary & Amon. This ASK is a real ask hole..

Another loser and waste of air murders not only a woman but her two little ones as well ... since he decided to run off to Ghana --why not just leave them ?
Were the kids his ?

Rest gently, Sian , Zachary and Amon !

Yes they were his biological sons. He also has 6 other children by 5 other mothers that it would seem he sees little of if at all so I don't think he has emotional attachments to anyone.

I wonder when he bought the plane ticket? Presumably he and Sian planned to spend their last Xmas together with the boys given she was close to dying. So if he bought the ticket in advance that would suggest premeditation. If he bought it after the fact then perhaps it was an argument that turned tragic.

I don't have much faith he'll be found to be honest.

Well funny you should say that, because I was thinking - how do we know that she was "close to dying"? Is this coming from neighbors commenting on her appearance or medical/family say so?
Her poor sister said on the radio yesterday that Sian was preparing to leave ASK which isn't what you'd expect a soon to be dying woman to do usually?

Miss Blake and her children were last seen in east London on 13 December, prompting a missing person investigation, but the murder squad did not get involved until 4 January.

Her sister has revealed the former actress was planning to leave Mr Simpson-Kent over Christmas and wanted to end the relationship "a long time ago".

"She had asked to come back home and we said yes, so we really tried to plan on getting her to move back home," said Ava Blake.

"She said she would come back, sort of Christmas week, and after Christmas they would arrange about selling the property she lived in.
"She didn't want to throw (Arthur) out on the street but give him time to find somewhere else to live.

"That was the only point she was wavering on."

Ava Blake said her sister had changed from the "vivacious, happy person she once was" and that she suspected texts sent by Sian after she disappeared had not been written by her.

"The first part of the text, I believe my sister may have written that," she said.

"But the rest of the wording and other texts my family received, they were not my sister. We don't use text lingo. We write full sentences."

Im guessing its a argument that got violent, but why the kids? thats the bit I just dont get.

Meanwhile, it's been claimed that the police failings were due to the expense of carrying out a murder enquiry over the Christmas period.

"If the search had taken place over Christmas it would have been three times the price because of the overtime. Fortunes had been earmarked in overtime payments to police the New Year's celebrations and all those bank holidays. The last thing the Met needed in the current financial situation was an expensive murder inquiry," ex-Metropolitan Police detective Colin Sutton told The Sun.

This is the problem, our police services have been cut so much. Not an excuse i dont think, but seems to be the only one they have.

bbm - I bet it was when she told him she's gonna sell the house and he has to move out.

I understand what they mean, but that bit in bold is worded awfully. I'm sure being murdered was the last thing Sian and her children needed too.

This is reminding me of a murder in Australia. The father shot the two children, then drove at high speed off a wharf and shot himself at the last moment. So his poor wife has lost her entire family. Is there any higher form of violence against a woman, except killing her too?

But instead of it being treated as a crime he is being glorified as a 'wonderful father' in the media. :(

Editing to add:

discussion starts at the bottom of another (heartbreakingly similar) case:

The suspected killer of EastEnders actress Sian Blake and her two sons has been arrested in Ghana.

Detectives in West Africa detained Arthur Simpson-Kent wanted for the murder of his partner Sian Blake and their two children, Zachary, eight, and Amon, four.

Police stormed a town in the western region of the country, where Simpson-Kent, 48, was hiding out.
