Cabbie murder case families are linked
''THE families of murder victims Becky Godden-Edwards and Sian O'Callaghan are linked, The Sun can reveal''

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3515496/Cabbie-murder-case-families-are-linked.html

"But now it has emerged that Becky's grandad, Morris Brown, 69, knows the parents of Sian's boyfriend Kevin Reape, 25."

Umm...what does that have to do with anything? How does that link Halliwell to Becky or Sian? I sometimes think MSM tosses in bits of dandelion greens into the salad for no other reason than to see their audience pull a face over their bitter taste.

Haven't seen this posted yet, but Halliwell was yesterday remanded in custody until July 14.

Prosecutor Ian Lawrie QC told Bristol Crown Court: "As the court will know, another lady has been found and identified and it is the police's intention to interview Mr Halliwell in respect of that young lady.

"That will be done in the next few weeks and I simply mention it because depending on how that interview goes there will be an inevitable Crown application to connect matters."

"But now it has emerged that Becky's grandad, Morris Brown, 69, knows the parents of Sian's boyfriend Kevin Reape, 25."

Umm...what does that have to do with anything? How does that link Halliwell to Becky or Sian?

True. Swindon isn't a very large town, it's hardly going to take even the proverbial six degrees to find a link between two individuals. Someone was desperate to fill some space.

Well, keeping in mind this is The Sun, we have....

There may be more bodies, says cabbie
Last night a source close to the probe said: "He hinted after being picked up that there could be other victims. They are preparing to go back over the last 20 years."

The insider added: "When he was first picked up he did chat to detectives, although he has subsequently stayed silent."

I watched Becky's mum break down in tears on the news conference on SKY NEWS last night .It was heartbreaking to watch how this poor lady (and her family) have suffered for years because of Becky's addiction to drugs.

How devastating for her to find out that after all the worry and pain she has endured, her beloved Becky was murdered then thrown into some shallow grave by this evil monster. Another family destroyed at his hands and makes you wonder just how many more are out there, God forbid!

At least they have closure and know that Becky is now at peace and can hurt no more, what a tragic story . Another lovely young woman who was loved and cherished by a decent and caring family has been taken, who is safe these days, it really does make you wonder.

Sian investigators prepare their case
PART of Old Town came to a temporary standstill as crime scene investigators looking into the murder of Sian O’Callaghan collected evidence for the court case.
---
The stoppage needed was to allow specialist Crime Scene Investigation officers to get a clear shot of the nightclub entrance with their camera.

CSI Chris Auld, based at Gablecross police station, said: “We’re just taking pictures of the High Street. It’s required as part of the investigation.

Good to be methodical about matters.

Search for 40 cars of taxi driver accused of killing Sian
Detectives who unearthed the bodies of Sian O’Callaghan and Becky Godden-Edwards are tracing the owners of 40 cars that belonged to murder suspect Chris Halliwell.

The vehicles that were previously driven by the taxi driver have been identified through a government database and are wanted for forensic testing.

Police urgently want to track down a Lexus and a brown Vauxhall Cavalier, thought to have been owned by Halliwell at the time Miss Godden-Edwards disappeared. Officers hope they could still hold crucial DNA evidence relating to the two murders.

THE funeral of Sian O'Callaghan, whose body was found near Uffington White Horse last month after she went missing from a Swindon nightclub, will be held today (Monday).
---
The 22-year-old’s funeral will be held at Kingsdown Crematorium in Swindon at 3pm today.

The funeral is for family and close friends only but will be preceded by the cortege passing slowly through the Old Town area of Swindon in order to enable the public to pay their respects.

There hasn't been much said about his boat which his friend said was his pride and joy. Apparently he spent a lot of his time on it when he worked as a chauffeur, often missing phone calls from clients because where it was moored, there was no signal. I'm sure that came in very handy for him on occasion.

Tears and flowers as a town says goodbye to Sian: Hundreds line the streets to pay their respects
Hundreds of mourners lined the streets of Swindon today to pay their respects to murdered nightclubber Sian O'Callaghan.

Old and young gathered in the Old Town area - where the 22-year-old lived with her boyfriend and was last seen alive - throwing flowers as the funeral cortege passed slowly by with a police escort.

More then 500 people had gathered to watch the procession, which was followed by a private service for around 90 close family and friends.

Adjourned till July 27.

The plea and case management hearing for Christopher Halliwell has been adjourned until July 27.

The 47-year-old mini-cab driver, of Ashbury Avenue, was due to appear before Bristol Crown Court tomorrow charged with the murder of Sian O’Callaghan and Becky Godden-Edwards.

The case was moved due to legal reasons and Halliwell will now appear before the court on July 27.

THE man accused of murdering Sian O'Callaghan and Becky Godden-Edwards has once again appeared before a judge.

Christopher Halliwell, of Ashbury Avenue, Nythe, appeared before Bristol Crown Court moments ago for what was expected to be a plea and case management hearing.

However, no charges were put to the 47-year-old mini-cab driver, who appeared via videolink from Long Lartin prison, in Worcestershire.

Both of the women's families attended the hearing.

Halliwell is expected to face a preliminary hearing before a High Court judge by the end of the year and any trial would take place next year.

Won’t be long now until CH is up in court again and his trial expected early next year.

Another detached killer who just got on with life, enjoying his family whilst his vulnerable young victims were beaten, murdered and buried like dogs. He also implied to police in an early interview that there were other victims beside Sian and Rebecca.

I think it’s a strange coincidence that Claudia Lawrence, Sian O’Callaghan and Linda Razzell, all went missing on the same day of the year. Claudia thought to be on her way to work in the early hours of 19th March 2009. Sian on the early hours of 19th March 2011, Linda Razzell whose husband has been convicted of killing her but still proclaims innocence, went missing from Swindon on the morning of the 19th March 2002, her body has not yet been found.

I expect CH to get a total life sentence, a very dangerous character who hopefully will never be let loose on society again.

Not guilty? Then he certainly has some explaining to do.
