It's so sad that the british media just pick something up and drop it just as quickly. Tia and April comes to mind :(

What can they report on? There's nothing new in either case, or if there is it can't be reported - I'm sure when Hazell appears in court it will be covered.

That's what we are saying. He was due in court yesterday (Monday) to enter a plea, but not a word. If the hearing had have been postponed the press would be allowed to report it, but they haven't......

Where did you see the date was yesterday? I did see a report somewhere he was due in court on 15th.

(not that it makes much difference, it hasn't happened either time!)

eta - I'm not saying they shouldn't report events, but I was replying in the wider sense to a post saying the media drop stories like Tia and April. I don't believe they have "dropped" the stories - they just don't have anything to write about, there's a difference.

There may be some complication which the media are not allowed to report, as in the Sian O'Callaghan case.

He is expected to make a plea on 19 November and a trial date has been set for 21 January

Ms Sharp's partner Stuart Hazell, 37, who has been charged with Tia's murder, is in custody and expected to make a plea at the Old Bailey on 19 November.

Ah thanks.

I only checked the Metro http://www.metro.co.uk/news/908374-...-by-bin-bag-as-stuart-hazell-appears-in-court - suspect whoever wrote it was still thinking about writing 15 August a line or so previously.

Interesting that the news of two police officers being disciplined broke today.. wonder if that has anything to do with why the hearing was delayed?

I wonder if the reason for the delay of SHs hearing is because of the second autopsy that was carried out on behalf of his defence team ?

If his lawyers are allowed 3 months to review the evidence and construct a case for him, then perhaps it is 3 months from the date when they are in possession of all the evidence, which would be when they received the results from the second autopsy.

Guess that's possible, but surely the press would be permitted to report this? Is it possible that the hearing did in fact go ahead, but nothing was reported?

Totally agree Moby........ I can see the autopsy being a reason for the delay of the hearing, but I can see no reason at all why the press could not just have said that this had happened.

Will have another search round and see what can be found today

It could mean that they still think she may have been involved, but they cannot produce any evidence.
