while I am glad JH will be held financially liable for the damage she caused the Franke kids, I don't think Kevin is the appropriate one to safeguard those funds and hope the courts name an uninvolved fiduciary such as a bank trust department to do so rather than this daddy-come-lately JMO MOO

^^^^^This. Not from Utah, but raised LDS, I can speak to the untrained nature of bishops and their first and second councillors. They are just average people with jobs, regular jobs. We had one who was a PE teacher. Another who was a guy with an air conditioning duct business. These guys generally have their hearts in the right place, but they are not trained to be therapists or anything like that, and yet their congregation gives great weight to their advice. It has the potential to go very wrong.

Also, even with the best of bishops, gossip in wards is rife, and I know people personally who could have done with a friendly ear but didn't talk to the bishopric for fear of it getting out into the congregation.

MOO
We fondly refer to the gossip in wards as "Mormon News Network MNN". It travels faster than a tweet!

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — Jodi Hildebrandt and her attorney requested Tuesday that her upcoming review hearing be closed to the public and media.

They requested the hearing be held “in camera” (meaning in private), arguing her financial matters “should not be a matter of public record,” court documents state.
[snip]
The judge also prevented Hildebrandt and anyone representing her from selling any assets until her sentencing on Feb. 20.
Hildebrandt, attorney ask for private hearing regarding estate

does Jodi's wish to keep her finances out of the public eye indicate truth or distortion? curious what she would think if it were one of her client's asking for privacy?

Jodi's distorted truth. Why does she deserve privacy for the finances that she made from the public with her Connexions videos and pseudo self-help cult? She willingly stole money from her unsuspecting and coerced "clients" sent directly from the LDS Bishops, as well as the LDS church. The people who deserve to know her finances are all of those she has harmed over her career.

This latest development on the JH case requesting proceedings for the court and evidence not be publicized is puzzling.

I thought that JH (Jodi Hildebrandt) and her colleague RF were ‘social influencers’ and liked to publicize their life style, advice, and guidance to others? And had done so by a heavily publicized and to some extent a monetized influencer channel? IMO

Not that it should matter but I wonder if her attys are Mormon?? There just has to be some pressure from somewhere to protect the church and their "policies." It is their faith, I get it, but to save your butt when does the truth come out?? And..I wonder what all of Jodi's clients/patients are doing without her continued guidance??

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A southern Utah judge ordered this week that Jodi Hildebrandt can move forward with selling her multimillion-dollar home, stipulating that money must be set aside for the abused children of Ruby Franke, her business partner.
[snip]
According to court documents filed Wednesday in 5th District Court, the judge ordered that Hildebrandt be allowed to sell her home in Ivins, which was listed at $5.1 million.

As part of the order, Hildebrandt must place $100,000 in escrow in an account managed by an attorney, where the money will remain until the matter of restitution is closed.

“The funds must be used first to satisfy any restitution ordered to benefit the minors,” the order states. “Any remaining funds shall be returned to Ms. Hildebrandt.”

Given a possible value for the home, to be required to place only $100,000 into an escrow account seems a small proportion of that total. MOO

ETA….. the embedded video above states that apparently RF estranged husband requested that amount? If I understood correctly? That still seems quite a small amount if the desire is to help with offsetting and restitution to the children from apparent harm to them. IMO

Possibly she doesn't have much equity in the home, maybe the mortgage on the home will eat up most of the proceeds from the sale??

SALT LAKE CITY — Two women at the center of a high-profile child abuse case in Utah will be sentenced tomorrow after they both pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated child abuse.

YouTube family channel content creator, Ruby Franke, and her former business partner, Connexions Classroom founder Jodi Hildebrandt will be sentenced by the same judge. Franke will receive her sentence first, immediately followed by Hildebrandt.

KSL TV’s legal analyst, Greg Skordas, said we could be hearing statements from both women and those closest to them. He said the judge will read a pre-sentence investigation report, which was done for both Franke and Hildebrandt. Then, he may read victim impact statements, or the victims may read their statements themselves.

We trust the judge to sentence them both to 1-15 years for each of the four counts, to run consecutively, and then let the Utah State Board of Pardons decide if that should be shortened or other conditions imposed,' his attorney said in a statement.

Still side-eyeing the dad, especially after trying to have his eldest daughter arrested, but glad he is advocating for punishment.

Ruby Franke's sentencing is set to begin at 10 a.m. local time. Jodi Hildebrandt's sentencing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Follow KUTV 2News for live updates.
