If he took the car to Charlottesville, how did he either:
a.) Get back when he dropped her car off?

or assuming he left his truck there preparing to come there, to drive his truck back ...

b.) Get to where she was, to get her car? (if his truck was at the parking lot)

Could there be a third party involved?

He was a repo man. I'm betting it was towed there in some fashion.

Yep. And he may have even rigged four way flashing headlights and a siren to his truck. You can get those things out of a JC Whitney catalog or even at a Harbor Freight.

And that type of setup could be passable or at least explainable if repo work is done using the truck.

We also need to keep in mind the how - how did he do it? LE said that he left behind Alexis in his truck. How did he get her to stop? Sounds like he did so in similar fashion as the route 29 stalker. I will not be surprised if that suburban has emergency lights of some sort rigged to it.

He doesn't need an actual tow truck to tow the car, that truck is fully capable of doing it with a tow dolly.

In that ratty old truck? IDK, but I do know some people in that small community will gesture you or flag you down if you leave your gas cap on your roof or you have a tail out or your tire's going flat. Most people consider it a small town, neighborly thing. That happened to a relative of mine some years ago, some guy flagged her down, actually not far from the LE are now, and she thought it might be a killer, she freaked out, but it was just some guy saying, hey, you're tire's going flat.

On my way to work one day the person in front had a tire practically completely flat. I flashed my lights and honked the horn. She did not want to pull over and this was in the evening with very heavy traffic. She finally pulled to the side and lowered her window only slightly and I lowered mine and told her. I asked if she had a cell phone and she said yes and it was not too far before the exit but I could not stay with her because I'm a nurse and needed to get to the hospital. I completely understood this woman's reaction! There is something to be said about having a new car and all the new fangled warning lights imo.

Nobody knows for sure, but I just don't see her having gone south. To get her off the road willingly, there'd have to be a place where she could pull off the road where noone would see, and immediately south, there's the library, community center (speed trap police are usually parked up between the library and the community center), a popular pizza joint, animal rescue and the power company so he'd have to get her past all that to pull her over and after you pass all that, you have to get all the way to the high school to do a Uey. And, on the north side of 29 across that strip I just explained, is a small neighborhood of houses, fairly close together, a big flea market mall, a big church, almost like you'd see in a town since its near lovingston. Again, I'm just guessing here.

But, when you pull north, fairly quickly, it gets quiet. I suppose she could have gone north briefly to see a friend. Such awful luck.

Ok, his name and the distinct three frown lines at the bridge of his nose are my main two.

Can you show me proof that that 42 year old in the mugshot had that picture taken in the last three months?
I'm trying to say that mugshot was taken in 2006/7. If it wasn't, you should be able to find the crime he was wanted for quite easily.

He would have to have had MAJOR plastic surgery and magically found the fountain of youth.

I'm thinking maybe he followed her to close to this shopping center signaled her with lights to pull over and this is how the vehicle got there.....at this point anythig is possible.
ETA: would also explain it being parked strangely. If I were pulling over for someone signaling (only LE) I would just pull in a parking lot not particularily in a spot.

Isn't the other girl still missing. I hope he gives up where Alexis is. Otherwise we may never know. Hopefully they have ample amount of evdience.

Google image results tend to be pretty strange when it comes to mugshots. Any time I've ever looked up someone with an arrest record, several other photos will come up simply because they'll have been listed (perhaps alphabetically) on the same page on one of those BUSTED! type mugshot websites. And when you click on the source page of the unrelated image, it rarely goes to the actual source page, but the one you were looking for to begin with. I think since those websites are constantly updated (and most likely poorly managed) search engines can only crawl them using outdated data that doesn't keep up with the changes. Sucks for the guy with the traffic violation who happens to be one letter off some sex offender.

In any case, I had no idea we were even entertaining the possibility of that being the same person. RAT would've had to have undergone some serious reconstructive surgery. I could be wrong of course. I'm more curious about a rather specific change he made to his appearance though.. wouldn't be surprised to find out he goes by daffyyduckluvrboi on some creepy hunting forum.

The Perp in this case was never a 'fugitive' in 2013. The FBI has been all over him like a bad coat since the Samantha Clarke case.

I noticed Lauren Spierer & Heather Hodges are all also on the map.

Most people who have been following Lauren Spierer's case believe the young men she was hanging out with the night she disappeared know what happened to her, either by causing it to happen or covering it up. Bloomington, IN is also nine hours from Charlottesville.

Heather Hodges' case also has a POI. LE hasn't named him publicly, but many believe it is her boyfriend.

Samantha & Lauren Smith's cases seem most likely to be connected to RAT, IMO, as well as some other cases that are unsolved murders or disappearances not on the map.

I'm also unsure about RAT being responsible for Holly Bobo's abduction. Darden, TN is pretty far from the Chalottesville/Orange/Lovingston area of VA- like around TEN HOURS away. Before Holly is considered as a victim of RAT, it makes much more sense to me to look at the many cases of missing women from around the Norfolk-Newport News-Henrico areas of VA (two hours or so from Charlottesville) in the past decade or so. There seem to be an inordinate amount of missing women from that area.

I posted this on Kathleen Haley's thread (missing woman from Newport News):

was looking at missing women in VA on NAMUS since 1999 (randomly picked year). There are 40. What struck me about this 40 is that 5 of them are from Newport News like Kathleen. That means in the last 14 years, over 12% of the state's missing women have disappeared from Newport News. One more also went missing from nearby Hampton.

Five have also gone missing from Henrico, which according to Google is an hour from Newport News.Four have gone missing from Norfolk, which is about 30 minutes from Newport News (per Google).

I haven't looked at all the circumstances for all of the missing women yet, but there certainly seem to be little clusters of missing women in & around the Norfolk-Newport News-Henrico area. (If there are any WSers who are awesome at maps-I am not-, this may be a great map to make- missing women in VA). Not saying all of these cases are related, but something seems to be going on in that area....

Just makes more sense to me to look a couple of hours away at missing women's cases before we jump to looking at RAT as a possible perp in cases 10 hrs away (Tennessee) or 9 hours away (Bloomington, IN where Lauren Spierer went missing). (sorry for such a long post)
