I stumbled on this story but have read all the comments and it's very intriguing. My heart goes out to the Bradley family, I can't imagine what they must feel. I am a little confused. Why would her captors allow her out in public the first 7 plus years and now keep her in hiding? Have there been any more recent sightings? Has LE for the FBI given a possible drawing of what she may look like today? If that's been posted I missed it and apologize

The sketch on the left is from the FBI website. Information about sightings has not been released since 2005. Amy's case is not cold. It is an ongoing investigation.

It comes to mind that the photos were staged and that Amy's hair and make-up are staged as well. It's possible that this is not her look at all times and that the look is used to throw people (disguise Amy) off.

The possibility that those escort resort photos were staged has been discussed many times and it is very possible. The wild hair has remained pretty much the same through all of the sightings. I have no idea why they do that. I can only say that the sightings have absolutely been verified and the photographs are absolutely believed to be Amy.

Yes, the resemblance of the photos to Amy is remarkable. I'm no expert; however, I concur it looks like Amy.

There is nothing about Amy's resort photos that is at all like the photos of the other escorts. Amy looks like a deer in the headlights and the photos certainly don't look like they were professionally done. Someone posted those photos for a reason. The FBI investigated the escort resort. There was no evidence that Amy had been an escort at the resort.

People have searched for that wrought iron headboard for years.

Until I started reading this thread, the image of Amy that I had in my head was of a young Amy with short hair like she had on the ship. Wild hair Amy probably would not have registered in my head if I saw her passing. I know there have been people who recognize her despite the hair but it certainly would have dupped me.

The majority of Amy's sightings have been in the southern Caribbean.

I think I missed something as there are 3 stars showing on the map (or else I knew and have forgotten which is very possible). There was a sighting in Curacao and Barbados. Where is the other place that is marked?

My apologies if this has already been noted ... sincerely and I hate anyone having to repeat information over and over but I don't remember where the 3rd sighting was. I could be losing it too .......:maddening:

In January of 1999, Amy was seen in an old Otrobanda hotel. This was ten months after she disappeared. The witness was a Chief Petty Officer from the USS Chandler. His ship was docked further down along the canal. The hotel was old and it had a bad reputation. It was off limits to Naval personnel. There was a bar in the hotel that was a focal point in the area. The hotel had once been a nice hotel, but it had seen better days. It had been known under various names through the years. The Otrobanda waterfront is a popular place for tourists.

When the sailor saw Amy in the hotel, she was sitting at a table with another woman. Amy approached the sailor, identified herself, and asked for his help. Amy was then told to go upstairs by two men who were closeby. The sailor did not report that he had encountered Amy until he saw her photograph on the cover of People magazine, two years later. He did make an official report to the FBI in Washington, DC, and he did meet with the Bradleys. Amy's identity was confirmed. Ron Bradley went to Curacao, immediately. When he arrived, he learned that the hotel had burned to the ground in May of 2000. There was no trace of Amy and there was nothing left of the hotel except an overgrown lot.

This hotel was located along the Otrobanda canal. When a ship is in the cruise terminal, other ships dock along the canal. The ships pull right up to the edge of the street and passengers disembark directly onto the street. They've been doing it like this for years. I have to wonder how many cruise ship passengers disembarked from their cruise ships and walked right past that old hotel. I have to wonder how many passengers might have gone into the bar for a quick drink. How many people have seen Amy Bradley, but they just didn't recognize her?

The third star shows the location of Margarita Island, Venezuela where her photograph appeared on the website. There was one sighting in Barbados. There were two confirmed sightings in Curacao and one unconfirmed sighting. Curacao is also where she disappeared. This map shows the locations of Amy's activity in the southern Caribbean.

This is why it's so important to the Bradleys for Amy's sketch and photographs to be seen.

I spent the majority of the day yesterday going through people's Flickr photos that had tags related to anywhere Amy might have been seen. You just never know when someone might have unknowingly snapped a photo of her.

Another thought I had is to contact people who have photos up of the southern Caribbean and point them to this thread. A lot of travelers seem to go back to their favorite islands regularly, and maybe they can be on the lookout.

TripAdvisor is another good place to contact travelers who could look for her as they travel.

PeggyAnnMcKay, have you been sent from Heaven?

You have no idea how many people close to this investigation and close to the Bradleys have gone through photographs of the southern Caribbean and escort resorts in Venezuela. People have spent countless hours just searching for that headboard. I sincerely thank you for every second that you have spent looking for Amy.

Amy's story had been pretty much forgotten and pushed back into the archives, even though the case has always remain open and ongoing. For several years after Amy disappeared, America's Most Wanted, major publications, and the media did specials about Amy's disappearance. Gradually, though, the interest in Amy's case faded. The Vanished program has been good in bringing Amy's case back into focus.

Yes, they do. Curacao is also a very popular cruise ship stop. People love the old Dutch architecture, the shops, and the restaurants. Curacao has excellent scuba locations. So many Americans and Canadians pass through Willemstad every day. Somebody has seen something.

All of the sightings have been in port cities and popular cruise ship stops. There was a cruise ship that docked in San Francisco on the day Amy was sighted.

Really makes me truly wonder if Amy ever made it out of the clutches of the cruise ship industry. Maybe Amy has been "working" both on land in the port cities and on the cruise ships themselves.

I agree that somebody has seen something and it is very important to keep Amy's picture out on the internet and keep her story alive.

I viewed many images and youtube videos last night of San Francisco and did not spot a wild haired Amy in any of the amateur video. Wishing if anybody does sight Amy to turn on the video on their cell phone and discreetly video her and her handlers.

This nightmare for the Bradley family has to come to an end somehow. The tip on her whereabouts will come from an aware public or if one of her handlers is arrested and aggressively questioned.

Alister Douglas needs to be re-interviewed and questioned as well.

This photograph shows how the cruise ships dock right next to the Otrobanda streets when they aren't docking in the cruise terminal.

I want to thank you for all of the efforts you have made to find Amy. You are very much appreciated. I know that what you were doing is very tedious.

Amy has been seen in places where there are ports and harbors. This has been as much of a constant, as the wild hair.

Somebody has seen something. Somewhere, there are images of Amy on someone's videos or images. Somewhere, there is someone who recalls seeing Amy or maybe even speaking to her. Someone has seen her in a restroom, a store, or a restaurant.

I would so very much like to question Alister Douglas. I'm not convinced that he would know everything about this group, but he knows enough. He knows who hired him and he knows where they are. He knows why he was guarding Amy. He knows what he did to render her incapacitated before putting her into the freight elevator.

Alister Douglas claims that he is completely innocent. The Vanished producers actually offered him the opportunity to give his side of the story and he refused. He later called the producers and complained about the way he was portrayed in the program.

elepher50 - your map is great!

Law enforcement in Curacao hasn't been the greatest in helping to find Amy. If Amy was kept in that Otrobanda hotel, even for a short period of time, someone in that neighborhood saw something. Someone saw her. People who were working in the same hotel saw her and probably spoke to her. Where is the woman she was sitting next to when the Chief Petty Officer saw Amy? People disembarking from the cruise ships have seen her. People in Curacao have seen Amy Bradley, but they aren't saying anything. People have seen her and they know who she is.

This photograph is a block or so from the location of the old hotel. Amy wasn't hidden. She was in plain sight when the Chief Petty Officer saw her.
