JH believes AJ is "safe"

Bare with me-
I was just watching a (real life) hospital show, one patient was a extremely ill women who was having her bladder removed because of cancer, the doctors had to come and tell her after the operation that the cancer had spread and no treatment was available. She asked the dr would she be alive in ten years! Now just from seeing her it was obvious she would have weeks to months to live.
That's just one example of DENIAL, I have a family member who is in denial to a condition I believe because they are scared of lack of independence and control.

JH could quite possibly be in huge denial as a coping mechanism, perhaps if months roll on without a conclusion she may be able to deal with the pain differently.

I'm just here to check out the comments while marking my spot on this thread. Good to see sleuthers sleuthing.

AJ in contact with her friends and their not being worried at the onset is a very big possibility. (I want to say, very likely, but I'll stick with possibility.)

This idea, if it had/has occurred would also possibly be a factor in why the NPD continued official statement had been that no foul play was suspected.

Communication had occurred with not only JH but others. <<<<----- IF it did.

In the majority of teen cases that I worked on (prior professional position); one or more of their friends had contact with the youth at some point. Sometimes throughout the time period the youth was *away from home*. Often, the friends provided some level of assistance.

As this situation has progressed the NPD has changed their official statement to "they have not ruled out any possibilities". It seems that this change in statement was a result of the leads and everything else that the public has observed play out on the media.

I'm just wondering if Angelica called the police or went to a police station and said "I'm fine, I just want to disappear from the whole situation. I don't want it known that I came in either" would the police honor this?

AJ isn't a criminal. Leaving home is not a crime, especially at 18 which is adult status.

Even for a minor teen, running away is not a crime in Virginia.

And, everything that has transpired has been completely out of her control in regard to the actions of JH, WH, the media etc.

Even the NPD, they have been doing what was needed in response to leads, behaviors of others as a result of that initial report so and so on. Once it was on file, they had to follow through with anything and everything.

Bolded above: I feel that the NPD would honor such a request from AJ as long as they could confirm it was in fact her. The *missing person report* would be cancelled along with any other alerts out there (Virginia State Police and anywhere else). I cannot imagine them doing anything else.

In situations with the runaway teens I worked with, reports were cancelled all the time once the teen returned home. There were also times the reports were cancelled once contact with the teen had been reestablished by a parent and the parent agreed to some other living arrangement.

Adult AJ would not have to return home. And, NPD would not get involved or interfere with AJ's wishes to stay away temporarily or actually reside elsewhere.

These would all be legal decisions by AJ.

Now, keep in mind that I cannot speak for the NPD.

But, everything I've stated here stems from my knowledge of how it all works.

And, I would encourage AJ to contact the police and go there and make such requests to bring all of this to an end.

Now, you mentioned earlier how the media coverage is predominately very local. It is. And, IF AJ is actually away from this area or in another state; she might not have any idea how HUGE all of this has become.

Exactly. NOBODY cuts their debit card for disposal and leaves their name fully intact--unless it is a wild goose chase clue, imo

Hey, would you happen to recall where Zach said AJ carried stuff like credit cards? I recall having the conversation, but can't recall the specifics.

I have to be honest, these "4 teens" bother me. I do not think they are kids who were sucked in by WH and were following his lead. I think at least two if not all of them were really stirring things up, rumor-mongering and ratcheting up the drama...riling everybody up. I think at least one or more (or all) of them "stoked the fire" in the targeting of texty.

Yes- bc WH, our honest jail friend lol, did say he was getting all kinds of texts regarding him from 'people', telling him why that person might be cause of concern. I have to think of where/when he said that & I will add link.

It seems to me that WH/family/friends were just acting way too quickly trying to accuse the Texty kid before there was ever evidence at all. They were all jumping to conclusions way too early in this. There are so many news outlets, FB pages, etc. that cannot even agree on anything as to a timeline. I really wish that LE would put out an official time on this and clear up the wrong info on their FB page too. They have her wrong height...okay so...

Look at this timeline even though it is from WH jailhouse interview. I am bolding some stuff. Remember that he broke in on the 6th to Texy kids' house. He's saying also that they (LE) got a warrant to do a search for this day. (thinking this was the warrant to search the texty kids house.) This is also the day that they find the other pieces of her missing debit card in the morning time --according to news broadcast http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/search-missing-virginia-student-29479547-- This is the same news station that said the family said she was last seen Monday night at 9:15 pm

Jailhouse interview - BBM

WH: They're not saying it was planted or whatever but it’s evidence tampering because, say, somebody broke into a house theoretically and verified information that evidence was there, and then said that they moved it so if someone was over later they would be able to see it, in order to bring the evidence out faster.

(more Q & A questions before this)

JF: What time of day did you break in?

WH: 2, 2oclock

JF: [unintelligible] Friday March 6th?

WH: That may be correct, yes. I know the search warrant was executed the same day.

JF: How did police find out you went in there?

WH: Uhm people change their stories. I mean
... they were badgered, questioned really hard. Whatever. It wasn’t a story. It was just something that um..

JF: Do you think that they just didn’t want to lie?

WH: I respect that. That is probably what that was. They want to get to the bottom of the truth. I don’t think they did it to, like, sell me out, rat me out. It wasn’t that - we talked about it. It was more like we just agreed that, I don’t know… I had a conversation with an individual and I felt like it was something we had to do. When I made that decision, other individuals were brought in because I was just trying to make the evidence come to light. I didn’t have the jacket. I didn’t plant the jacket. I didn’t know anything about that. It was the fact of the overwhelming information that led me there, which… you yourself have a lot of that information.

favorite thing about this is him "respecting" them not wanting to lie. please, he threatened them. come on.

I keep seeing this get thrown around, and maybe it's possible, but i'm not sure we have any evidence if AJ was quick to anger, what her relationship with mom was like, etc? I know it's been said multiple times that JH could be controlling. do we have any info about AJ's personality?

Since she has many guy friends; then i would think that she can argue with the best of them. But iam sure jh knows which buttons to press.

Barf. "She-whose-name-we-do-not-utter" has composed some supposed journalism about the case. After all her WH supporting (saying his sniffing was him weeping, for one thing) she now is wondering what is true and what isn't. Wow. What a revelation. She's totally brill.

Brill like a dull fork. I avoid her as a rule. She just makes me want to kick something.

Yes, but I prefer not to share them info here on forum.

Pretty please with sugar on top. Lol. Just joking. Some things are fully understood when left unsaid. Did i just say that? But I wont stop you from spilling the beans now.

RSBM. Thank you for all of your experience! This is my feeling about what I snipped as well. If she is out of state and "off the grid", she probably has no idea what is going on.

Hey, would you happen to recall where Zach said AJ carried stuff like credit cards? I recall having the conversation, but can't recall the specifics.

I remember that a few threads back, when we learned the wallet was left behind, someone brought up how she could have had a cell phone case with the little pocket on it for holding her cards/cash.

I believe he said she had a phone case that also held credit cards.

Which one of Wes's phones were they texting and calling him on? I hope it wasn't on the one that LE didn't know about.

If AJ did take off (and i hope she did rather than the alternative!) who is leaving her clothes on the road? I can't bring myself to think 1) AJ is that cruel as to taunt her family by leaving her own clothes on the side of the road (unless it was a hey I'm alive message but that seems out there) and 2) if step dad and mom knew she left what's with all the lies from WH and constant sharing of misinformation? If you knew she ran and just wanted to get the word to her that you're taking it seriously by calling LE the simplest thing is one flyer with one paragraph of consistent information.. That way you're done and done with that aspect of the situation. Lying when you have no reason to doesn't make sense in this situation.

I know! I'm looking for sense in this situation! Time for a glass of wine...

I also want to edit to add that I don't think anybody is downright wrong. I respect all of your viewpoints and often times ideas that I've crossed off my list are the ones I need to revisit the most for a different and better perspective. Thanks to ALL of you for your insights and opinions, regardless of our differences we all really really really want AJ safe.

So, her wallet was found at the house?! I sure don't recall THAT bit of info!
