Somewhere in this this thread, the red scarf is listed as being among her belongings. I believe she secured the bag with masking tape; also somewhere in here I read that she was carrying a roll of masking tape in her backpack. My guess is that the scarf was part of her outfit, as she was wearing a red sweater and red nail polish.

Yes, the scarf is listed somewhere with her belongings, I believe red, black & white.

I liked the theory that she was maybe married to an American in the military that was stationed over there.

Then again I don't like the Belgium connection very much at all.

I didn't like it either... but I mean, we should exhaust every lead.

I still think she could be from outside the US, but I'm basing that on nothing except that she has been so difficult to identify. If we discount the alleged glasses manufacturer (and I'm starting to think we should), there is nothing to connect her to Belgium.

I agree we should move on from the possibility of a Belgian connection.

Could she be Canadian?

I didn't know any American women who drank mango juice in 1996. I am also not familiar with either brand labels on the bottles. HMMMM....

I'm almost caught up on this thread but I took a side trip to check out Porchlight Intl on Annandale Jane Doe since the email quoted in an above post said they supplied the info on CSL... The officer/detective working this case personally emailed a person there and they posted pictures that show more definition. I'm posting them below.

I'd really like to thank Ell at Porchlight International for posting these pictures on their Missing Person & UID forum.

Looza is a Belgium drink! LOL

http://www.looza.be/

Yeah, it's manufactured in Belgium but used to be sold with organic foods and ethnic foods years ago. Now sold in liquor stores. What did the poster on here previously say - that its used as a mixer for liquor?

Also, I wonder of she's maybe Russian or Romanian. Originally I was thinking Hispanic.

Looza is owned by Frito Lay. It was filed for branded trademark 4/2/96. The Looza Co was established many years prior in Belgium, though, but has been in the USA for literally years.

Of all her belongings the minnie mouse bum bag is the most out of place to me. I am convinced there is some connection to a child.

I'm not experienced with identifying people so I might be way off base with this suggestion.

Elizabeth Pratt missing since 1980. She was 44 at the time which would've made her 60 in 1996.

The Namus photo looks like a totally different person than the Doenetwork photos.

But the namus photo resembles Annadale Doe. The nose and eyebrows look very similar.

The height is off by 4" though.

And the circumstances don't really fit.

It says "Elizabeth had left her husband and was staying with her mother that night. She received a phone call, took the phone into a bedroom to talk and emerged acting happy, her mother said. Then she gave her mother some money then left in her 1974 burgundy Impala never to be seen again"

Sounds her ex husband may have done something to her.

Says she has three scars on her stomach so that doesn't match.

I didn't see her mentioned so I thought I'd take a chance.

Forgive me if this as already been discussed but was the poem found to be a published one or just something she made up? Reminds me of the prayer "now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, and should I die before I wake I pray the Lord my soul to take".

That prayer is the thing that makes me still think of Connie. It's the kind of thing Connie would have written.

Here's what we do know about the Belgian connection:

1. One of the drinks she had with her was LOOSA, which is manufactured in Belgium.

2. In her property, there was a pair of tri-focal prescription glasses made by CSL, which Ellen at Porchlight found to be from Centre Spatial de Liège, Université de Liège, Av. du Pré-Aily, 4031 Angleur, Belgium
(Thank you for this info astridxx)

This seems like a strong indication there may well be a tie to Belgium.

We haven't confirmed that the glasses are actually from Belgium.

Edited to add details: The CSL appears to be a research center that studies optics in regards to space and engineering, not eyeglasses. It's still unclear how Ellen determined that, because none of us have been able to find glasses from CSL. Astridxx emailed them to ask but I don't think she has heard back yet.

Understood.
I think it might be tied to the University. I'm still researching that angle.
I feel strongly it would be a mistake to dismiss the Belgium connection until we figure these glasses out. Combine that with the "coincidence" of the juice being manufactured in Belgium....well....that's enough for me to dig further. I'll see if I can come up with anything.
I'll give this gal credit - she sure covered her tracks!
