I think so. The last one is of the back--if you look closely, you can see the post sticking out toward the viewer. The bumps at the side appear to be the fingers of a person holding it for the camera.

The second to the last one shows the front view. Apparently the earrings are metal with a stone inlay. It's described as "aqua swirls" -- probably glass or resin but could be opal, maybe?

Could be Opal, but it seems hard to cut it, like in the earrings. What about Mother of Pearl? And the form representing waves?

*A bump for The Bone Lady*

Last time I checked NamUs (back in the good ol' days when rule-outs were visible to all), there were over 900 rule-outs for Jane Doe; does anyone know how many there are now?

I came across this Radford University study about serial killer Larry DeWayne Hall, where he is named as a possible suspect in the murder of Jane Doe (page 4).

Thanks MrsB for the study. Interesting. I can't help you with a rule out list.

946 ruleouts. Some may be duplicates.

Could she have been killed by John Boyer? She was petite, dumped near an interstate, and had been stabbed (at least one of Boyer's victims was stabbed), and partly covered with leaves and dirt (at least one victim was partially covered by pine brush).

Additionally, Boyer's victims seem to be mostly prostitutes. If this UID had teeth that were previously taken care of, but hadn't been in the time prior to her death, one possibility could be that she had fallen on hard times and turned to prostitution (my other thought was that maybe she developed a meth habit).

I'm not entirely convince, but thought I'd put it out there just in case.

There's a new NamUs entry that made me instantly think of The Bone Lady of Fairfax, Carmela Manugas Buchanan. I don't have access to the ruleout list, so I do not know if she's already been ruled out. Many of the stats add up.

Carmela Manugas Buchanan was last seen on January 1, 1993*. She has not been seen again. On February 4, 2001, Carmela Manugas Buchanan's sister contacted Shenandoah County Emergency Services to report that she had not heard from Carmela in several years. Subsequently, Shenandoah police met with Carmela's husband Andrew Edward Buchanan who stated that Carmela moved away 8 or 9 years prior and that he and Carmela divorced in 1993. He stated that Carmela phoned him 3 years prior to tell him that she was singing in a New York club. Andrew Edward Buchanan passed away in 2006.

*Jane Doe estimated YoD goes up to 1992, and in some sources as late as early 1993.

Carmela Manugas Buchanan's WS thread:
VA - VA - Carmela Manugas Buchanan, 25, Woodstock, 1 Jan 1993

Carmela doesn't hasn't been ruled out to anyone according to her NamUs profile. (maybe since it's new they are waiting for DNA - I wish we could still see if DNA was available for the missing and unidentified)

One thing is that Carmela's race is listed as being Hispanic / Latino, Asian (Filipino) and the UID is listed as being only
White / Caucasian

In NamUs, yes, but she's listed as "white and/or Hispanic" in DoeNetwork and a few other places. Considering that ethnicity has been mistaken with Does before, I wouldn't necessarily make that a dealbreaker for (highly) decomposed or skeletal Does.

But @victoriarobinson642 managed to find a picture of Carmela, and it seems like her front teeth are mostly straight (but slightly overlapped?) whereas Bone Lady's front teeth are described as "crooked and decayed".

The following thread is dedicated to the comparison of this UID to Michelle Marie Ashley Nicholaou

Possible Match VA-Fairfax Virginia Jane Doe to Michelle Marie Ashley Nicholaou

Any discussion of Michelle with respect to this UID should take place on the above linked thread.

Shouldn't this thread now be moved to located forum since she has been found and he has been convicted
I am assuming this was removed because she was ruled out ,but i cant find the rule out list and i think the date ranges might have been recently changed for this UID. to include 1992 . So let me know if I am mistaken ,please. I feel way behind on the threads sometimes.

I am new to this case, and I notice early on her hair was described as "brown" and probably "bushy, thick," but currently in NamUs it's "Sandy" and "Dark blond to light brown."

I wish for answers and justice for her.

I just question how they able able to rule out all these people without DNA ,I also wish we could see the list ,and does anyone know if Michelle was ever ruled out?

There may be something unique about her remains that they have kept private that they can use to quickly rule someone out. Unusual dentals, perhaps, or something skeletal.
