The chief just said he was aware of his rights didn't he? And I believe that was when asked about denying the attorneys request to see him. If I go in as a witness, I wouldn't expect to be read my rights. Only if arrested. This whole scenario screwed up. Seems everyone is in CYA mode. I hope there is lots of video. JMO

I'm also wondering if he is aware of his rights due to his prior position of authority. If he was in any type of LE or FBI or investigative work, he would be very knowledgeable about his rights. I believe the statement about him being smart was made at the same time.

How long can they detain someone without arresting them?
REALLY interesting question. We've all seen COPS or other shows or in real life, where LE puts cuffs on people and tells them they're not under arrest, please sit over here while we question the others. Or please sit here in the back of the cruiser while we sort this out.

Interested in an answer to your question, psychicsleuth.

Was he possibly an MP during his years in the service?

DAY 5: The command post has cleared out from the parking lot next to the Buckroe Point Apartments. Hampton Police say they are moving into a more evidence and intelligence-based operation. However, this does not mean the search is over for 4-year-old Codi Bigsby

Police Chief Mark Talbot says they have an extensive amount of forensic data to review and process. Not only that, but he says they still have more people to interview and other areas to search. Again, just because the command post is gone, it doesn’t mean the search is over

WHERE IS CODI?

To the point of spending 3 nights there? Voluntarily? I've never ever heard of anyone doing that. What were his accommodations, I wonder. Was he sleeping in a jail cell? It's hard to believe someone felt like a team player, in a jail cell. Are there any other accommodations, within a police interrogation, for overnight guests 3 nights in a row - who voluntarily stay?

I think we'll know a lot more soon, but this just sounds . . . concerning.

And I know people on social media are saying "who cares what happened to Cory, where's the baby"? but this is still a concern.
It's really hard to imagine the FBI, profilers, interrogators, everyone involve held him against his will and refused to allow him to call an attorney. All involved risking their jobs, possible prison time and refusing to report this action to the Mayor, or any superior.

Why would all of these highly paid professionals risk so much? What would they gain? They would have to know their actions would be found.

I just can't take the word of a man who left kids under the age of 5 alone for hours. Did he lock them in a room, tie them up, how did he restrain these kids for hours? No, this mans words are no good to me.

I stand by the Chief, he is a man of integrity, 30 yr LE, Penn State grad, recognized by numerous organizations.

Moo....

It’s the other way around. The December charge was 3 children and the Jan 25 charge was for 4.

Because they say Codi was with him at one of his appointments, right? (Trying to remember after all of the articles I have read)

listening to Corey's sister talk to E-reporter outside public safety building - for a chick who knows enough to try to tell her brother to shut up she sure has a lot to say herself

She claims her ex husband spoke to all children including Codi on Sunday and Codi was alive and well. o_O

I don't believe her any further than I can throw her. But that's just me.

Me either! I don't believe them that they talked to the kids. How often when you call your sibling do you talk to their small children?

If option B is true why would he stay there 4 days voluntarily? That's what's confusing me. I can't connect the dots.

Because he was overwhelmed with all the small children. He was in there in the quiet talking with adults. (sorry, snark!)

This reminds me of Sky Metawala. His mother admitted that she left the two kids home alone for 11 hours while she was at mediation with dad. During mediation dad was finally given rights back to see his children and Sky disappears. It breaks my heart. She was never charged with neglect even though she admitted to leaving them alone; and she still has never been charged in his disappearance. Makes me sick!

That case drives me nuts! I keep waiting on them to arrest her but I honestly don’t believe they ever will.

I understand the difficulty of trying to do errands with 4 boys under the age of 5.> two year old twins included. It would be very difficult for one person to wrangle those kids .

HOWEVER, lf he had the means to go purchase a car, he had the ability to hire a high school girl to come watch his boys. No excuse for leaving them alone, into.
It’s utterly outrageous that these small children were left alone. I’m seeing red just reading about it. No excuse whatsoever. Extreme neglect. And perhaps during one of these child abandonment episodes, a tragedy occurred.
What kind of parent leaves children all alone when they’re too young to fend for themselves???
